Screwed All Subs
The owner Chris should be investigated by the DA's office of Nassau county & arrested! He's screwed just about every sub-contractor he's dealt with! He keeps on blaming that he's in the middle of a divorce and he's ex took all the money? That's strange because who's signing the contracts and collecting the deposits and dealing with the customers? not he's wife Debbie. When you knowingly send workers to job sites to start, continue or complete a job with not intention of every paying them that's FRAUD! There's never material on site you as person feel so sorry for all the customers he's wrong and start to buy material to get them back into their home's. He keeps on making promises to reimburse you for everything laid out, but that never happened . As for he's son Jr. what a dope! he couldn't start a fire with matches and he's the Project director? first finish High School you dope.
Poor workmanship/Liars
I used Chrisnic to build an extension. Every step of the build was a nightmare. The salesman stated they do not use sub contractors when that is the only type of workers that worked on my house ( They show up in cars not even work trucks). The framing of walls were not level or square. The vaulted ceiling was framed at different angles causing waves in the ceiling. They installed 4 doors, all of which ended up being different heights b/c workers did not know how to frame pocket doors. The tape and spackle is falling from seems throughout the room. They started in July and stated they would finish by September ( Fired them in November). The Salesman/Project Mgr was fired in middle of job and was never replaced causing them to lose track of the job . They re-used boards from old deck that was ripped down and framed my new deck( took boards from garbage). The siding they installed did not cover original shingles so they decided to break shingles with hammer leaving exposed broken edges of old siding. New framed roof did not match with old roof showing original hip of roof buldging above new roofline. The exterior door does not close correctly. Windows installed in extension were not sealed correctly causing basement to flood during rainstorm. I would tell all to stay away from Chrisnic they do not do good work.

Poor Workmanship
POOR WORKMANSHIP!
Buyer Beware!
I hired Chrisnic Construction to do my new extension. the saleswoman was very nice and knowledgeable. Once the project started at was a disaster. I failed my building inspection more than once. The workers damaged my home, the fact that most of them do not understand english did not help. They just did'nt care. Be sure to get everything in writing, because once the job starts and if you want or need something, the price will be unreasonably high. Once they get most of your money, the job will lag on, you'll just keep waiting and waiting. No one will show up, even though they told you they will. because they started they next project and you're not important.
I strongly recommend to use a reputable builder.

Excellent work
love my new kitchen that was done by Chrisnic Construction. I didnt think it would ever be possible to transform a small dingy, dated kitchen into a beautifully striking one. Also to my surprise the way it was designed makes it look so much larger. That credit goes to Joe Militello. When Joe described what could be done I thought this could never be possible. Also I would be remiss if I didnt mention Donnie the Project manager. I really dont know what I would have done without him. As we all know, whenever any major work is done in a house there always seems to be some amount of chaos. He really helped save my sanity. He really looks out for the clients and is a very caring and considerate person. I appreciate everything Chrisnic has done! - Elaine

Garbage
Chrisnic suck! Took too long to do my bathroom over. The PM juinor sucks! They probably have their own people write good things under all the bad things! The true only good thing is all the subs. They are good people! Also the only good 1 in the company is a gentlemen by the name of Don! Request him to handle everything if u must use them! All and all they are GARBAGE!

Awful Job
So we needed to remodel our bathroom. It had been a mess for 25 years without being remodeled. Great, exciting, wonderful. We hit Kitchen Bath Distributors and decided to slide down that slippery slope. The saleswoman was nice, she spoke in "construction phrases" and really never explained what what happening until it was too late to fix or backout of.
The company was given two and a half weeks to remodel our bathroom. It took 2 months for them to complete it.
The work they did left marks on my brand new living walls (that were just repainted and sanded after 30 years of wall paper was removed). They never came to finish the job of repairing all of the dents and scratches from the rip out.
The organiztion of the daily routine was obsurd. These people would come in and work half a day and leave! and then go on to their next project in the afternoon which is INSAINE! And which is what happens when you use subcontractor!
Knowing they only had two and a half agreed upon weeks to finish MY project, it would have been nice to be treated as if my hard earned money was as important as "the next" projects.
The workmen they sent were always pissed. Since they kept having to return to my home for mistakes that were constantly made.
"Junior" the 20 something-year-old-son-of-the-boss PROJECT MANAGER NEVER wrote anything down. He never showed up for more then 5 minutes. Always going on to the next job. ... and since his I.Q. was nearly 50 you can imagine how frustrating it was to have to remind him over and over again of what needed to be completed. My advice, get a pen and clipboard and take a seminar on how to use them!
By the end of the agreed upon contract timeframe we still had no completed bathroom. The left us without an installed toilet, no shower doors and a tub without faucets, which later, when I had to take ANOTHER day off from work, were installed backwards :) the caulking was never completed. Oh yeah, and they dont paint. Which would have been nice to know in the beginning BEFORE they planned to install a bathroom vanity. That way we could paint the drywall before and not our new vanity.
The respect and attention to detail was completely overlooked. AND they still demanded payment. I cannot imagine what the outcome would be if I performed MY job the way they performed theirs. I work in an operating room...
This was so unfortunate since we spent so much money to finally re-do out bathroom. There are plenty of other construction companies and contractors out there that will respect your project and properly complete a job. I will never use these people again...
Chrisnic Construction ripped me and my wife off.
Promised a new full dormer with a two foot overhang in the front of house for 45, 000.00 but at the end the price ended up being 85, 000.00.
I also had to be my own project manager.I had stone installed on my fireplace and I had to convince them to come back because there was so much excess concrete it was crumbling all over. I had to manage that part of the project too.granite counter was not sealed on one side because even though I was made to wait one week after they took my counter out they forgot to 'approve' the granite I picked-last minute I had to go back to granite yard TWICE and it was rushed at the last minute-the chinese subcontractor probably got squeezed by them too, they are adept at making you feel like youre complaining when you are only explaining.very slippery and defensive people.i understand they are related to 'kitchen and bath' in bellmore.seriously-go anywhere else
Chrisnic did a horrible, unprofessional job on my renovation. 4 months over schedule. They tried to use " Previously Used Lumber" on the job. There were nails and nail holes from where the wood had been used before. I had a 35 point checklist of serious issues and defects to be cleaned. The original project manager was fired from the job. The new project manager said he was embarrassed by the poor quality of what was done to the house and left as their final product. They eventually fixed everything as we withed a decent amount of money from them until completion. The wood used for door and window molding had so many knots in it it had to be removed, it wasn't paintable. The tile work in the bath was amateur. I could have done as well myself. The plumbing wasnt correct. the grout in the kitchen was not done properly. This was all a shock to me. They did my neighbors home expansion three years prior, he has great reviews of their work, and they met their schedule then. It looks as if they cant keep talented Project Managers and hire crappy sub contractors to do their work. I'd gladly give a tour and show the full punch list of repairs they needed to make
I cannot disagree more with the complaints that I have read by chance on this board.
I had my entire house redone and hired another contractor before Chrisnic, that contractor hired Chrisnic as a "sub" to do some of the work he could not. Well, it turned out after my contractor started the job, he "realized" the job was too big for him. I was stuck, Chris (the owner) came in spoke to me and gave me a cost outline for what he could do it for.
It was reasonable, done professionally, I received all my permits first time and something occured that speaks volumes about the owner; I had a problem with the weight of my roof due to ceramic tiles (that was not Chrisnics fault), he advised having a second architect come in and fix the problem. I believed it was no big deal and did not want to spend the extra $1500 for the architect. He said; John I can't in good conscience do this the way you want, you have your family here, I will pay for it no problem. Thats when I realized this was a bigger potential problem than I thought. I paid for it, he was correct and the house has not had a problem 3 years later.
I realize no one is perfect but you treat people like you want to be treated. I treated his people with respect and I received it 100% in return, the men were always there and 100% trustworthy.
You can't talk against Chrisnic in my book and I have dealt with MANY contactors over the years in various areas.

A follow-up to my recent posting. It is only fair to include the fact that Dave and company have addressed all my concerns. This is the first time I've used a contractor and I feel that the quality of work should be better while using a professional.
Unfortunately, I did not read these comments before I had my bath re-done in August. Good ole Junior was actually fired in the middle of my job. Problems ran from poor sub-contracting work (I had to have the tub taken out and re-enforced, and the tilers back about 5 times) to them ordering the wrong tiles. I came back from a trip to see the wrong floor tiles set. Here it is, 5 months later and I am waiting for them to come and re-plaster my ceiling for the 2nd time. I guess it's true - you get what you pay for.
I agree, I also had a horrible experience with Chrisnic Construction. I have damages to my home they are refusing to fix.
They actually enclosed a gasoline can in my new staircase.
Dave the manager is a persistant liar, he's great to let you think things will get done, but never does.
All they care about is collecting you money real fast, but the project could'nt be slower.
I failed numberous building inspections, prolonging the project. I would actually call the office in tears for weeks on end.
The owner is a hot head, the subcontractors will talk negative about the company if given the opportunity.
I strongly suggest to choose someone else, there are some good honest contractors out there.
I agree with you all the way. I also had a bad experience with Chrisnic Construction. from day one, cracked driveway from dumpster. bad framing that left my walls all crooked...I even had to be my own project manager..fired their own at the beginning of my job..this job was a night mare. please beware
I just stumbled along this complaint and I couldn't disagree more.
I thought Chrisnic did a fabulous job. I have recently got my kitchen done from Chrisnic and couldnt be happier.
Chrisnic Staff was extremely helpful. From the office staff to the Project Manager "Junior", I thought they were all so easy going and answered all my 100 of questions as promptly as possible.
I would recommend this company to my family and friends.
Looking into getting my bathroom done at the end of the year.
Good look Shoppers! Don't believe everything you hear :)
Horrible experience using them
Chrisnic just moved from Seaford to Bellmore and apparently changed their name to Kitchen Bath Distributors.
For good reasons I'm sure.
Amatuer low- brow operation, Unreliable, not timely, shoddy workmanship, Don't stand behind their work.
Uses subcontractors, even though they say they don't.
The "Keystone Cops" of construction!
Horrible experience using them.
Beware!
Installed high end countertop crooked.
Damaged other rooms during rip-out
Faucet installed incorrectly
Overcharged for material ect ect
Over 18 mos- probklem not rectified.
Still has the gall to demand full payment!
A totally stressful and terrible experience and would tell all to avoid them at all costs..

chrisnic construction is the worst company i have ever dealt with. No respect for your home, wil destroy whatever is in their way. do no show up when they say they will.Very poor quaility workmanship, everything was done wrong. When we refused to pay until the job was completed he walked out on the job. Went to consumer affairs to report him and we were told to get on line because of all the other complaints against him. Beware DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, You will have nothing but stress!
You are wright they are the worst companyI have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They just hire day workers and thats the best I could say about them.
Shoddy workmanship

BEWARE ...once i signed the contract all of a sudden the week of the work we agreed on changed to two weeks later. their guys came and were very nice guys, but were all handymen, definately not licensed. i could overhear them complaining about the Chrisnic company. the project took a week as promised. it seemed like everyday i had to remind the different guys who came what the plan was. nobody really knew what was going on. i just wanted to hire somebody and not have to worry about shortcuts! for example, they sheetrocked over my central air vent one day and i had to remind the different guys who came the next day to cut a hole for it, i heard them complaining about it and good thing i told them about it. the electrician came and had his helper do the work while he left and went to another job. the tile work was done by the "master" tile guys helpers while he also left to go to another job. i had to correct the tile guys cause they were tiling areas very sloppy and i had to wind up grouting the spots they missed after they were done. if i wanted rookies to do the work, i could have just had anyone in the yellow pages do it. but i thought i was dealing with professionals. they definately use subcontractors, guys were showing up here in different company vans. they also provided the mouldings, when they put the mouldings up they looked like they were all scratched up and sitting in a garage somewhere. they didnt even remove the blue tape. i mean at least try to make it look nice. when the project was done they left the dumpster in my driveway for approx two weeks after the job was done after numerous calls to remove. lastly, the project looks ok. i, think it would have looked better if i subbed it out myself, but i didnt have time to do that so i guess its my fault. Like i said before everybody was very nice but i see mistakes everytime i walk into the room. i just dont have the energy to call them back to fix anything. Definately would never use them again!
One year later...AWESOME job! Workers were excellent, prompt and courteous. Would definitely reccommend them...in fact, I have. Any problems that arose(all minor) they took care of right away. The above complaints had to come from competing contractors. They are professional and trustworthy. If you need proof, call them and they can show you my house!
I agree. I also had a very bad experience with Chrisnic Construction. On Day 1, they cracked my driveway severly, it's 8 months later and it is still not fixed. On day6, the tarp blew off my roof, leaving my 1st floor with severe water damage. My building inspection failed numberous times. They actually enclosed a gasoline can in my new staircase. the walls were framed crooket, tile work was crooket, windows were installed incorrectly.
Dave the manager will let you believe things will get done, but it never does.
The owner is a hot head, they are real quick to collect your money, but the project couldn't go any slower.
I would actually call the office in tears daily, but nothing would get done.
Some of the workers have no respect for your home. If the price is right, still don't use them. it will cost you more in the end.
In process of having a dormer installed...will have full review when complete. After 3 weeks into it, no complaints.
Interesting that this same (wording almost exact) nasty review was posted around the same time under a different name. I can't speak for Chrisnic's quality but I do know all of these contractors are cut throats who will slander each other every chance they get.
Check references of people who have actually used the vendor. They will gladly share their experience and a reputable vendor will always supply references.
