Banfield Pet Hospital banfield rip off

Please beware Banfield are fishers, it happens mostly when your pet has an emergency and your regular doctor is closed, the temperature bc right to catch you. At first the way it was explained when I took my lil dachshund who wasn't feel well, I was scared, they said " Oh you just pay a set amount today for care and then monthly you'll pay, then whenever, your dog is ill you just bring her in. They never tell you that whether your dog is sick or not that I would pay $50 a month and if I needed to bring her in for sickness I'll be charged the same or more as if I went to any clinic or pet doctor. When I understood this less than 2 weeks I tried to cancel and was told I'd have to give them over $300 to quit when I had already paid that amount during the emergency. The worst is that Banfield put my dog on hills diet 02/19 I took her in as she had blood in her stools and drooling, loss appetite loss weight, I took her to Chicago Canal st Bandfield where I paid over $250 and was told she was alright I then went to pick up a couple cans of hills pet food when I noticed it was all wipe off the shelf, when I ask about it I know now they lied saying the manufacture was coming out with a different label I was quite disappointed bc I was traveling to Georgia and wanted to take w/me, when I got to GA my dog loss weight looked dried out stop eating, I called 7 Banfield in GA who told me they wouldn't see her bc they only had 1 doctor. I had to take my dog to another clinic outside of who I've been paying $50 to for absolutely nothing! Worst they knew the canned dog food Hills was contaminated and didn't even say so I had continued to feed her the cans I had and it was killing her, then reading my emails I see Hills with of list of foods my dog was eating filled with overload of vitamin D that kills rats! They knew this all the time! My dog still suffers with smelly yeast and dry crusty patches but she's alive. The Owner of Banfield made the top money In magazine I can't remember bc he's ripping people off poor people like me with his scams and with all the money he's made off of people like me he only has 1 doctor per clinic who turned my dog away when she was in need of help when I'm paying and disgust me that I had to go pay another clinic. Bandfield is in partnership with Hills and they lied and Hills who I sent in records of my damages going on over 3 months have not responded. I am waiting to make sure I'm not signed up for another year of this crookmanship Bandfield or Hills who poisioned my dog and doctor lied to saying she was alright she knew that food I was feeding her was bad but didn't say don't feed her anymore my dog had continued having blood in her stools when I was GA. This company should have a law suit to pay all the people they're ripping off! My dog had deep yellow crusting all over her from Hills good and the non care of Bandfield, don't take your animal here as on top of all that they will try to sell you everything g they can that doesn't work only to sell you more stuff that doesn't work they are so wrong!

Next time, look on Amazon for reviews and recommendations of dog foods for your dog's particular issues, from people who have dogs with the same issues. I wouldn't feed my pets Hill's Science Diet when there are so many wonderful foods out there that our dogs would love and eat happily.

Banfield Pet Hospital incompetent veterinarian/responsible for death of dog

4/1/2019, banfield vet hospital, 1411 w. Covell blvd, ste 101, davis ca 95616, dr. Adrienne bautista - did not use the appropriate methods to diagnose my dog resulting in death of dog short time later. I took my dog to this vet after being told by a groomer that the cough my dog had could be congenital heart failure. I immediately took my dog and was seen by dr. Bautista. I told her that I feared he had heart problems. I told her he had been coughing and sleeping a lot. She did not ask me if he had any other symptoms. There is a list of the 10 most common symptoms listed all over the web. If she had asked me if he had any of those symptoms (which I was unaware of) I would have said "yes he does have that symptom!" because I now see that my dog definately had at least 4 symptoms off the top 10 list. Also, she should have, at the very least, taken his blood pressure. She did not. She should have used the appropriate device to get an accurate reading. She did not. She should have taken x-rays. She did not. There are several other tests she could have used. She chose not to use even one of them. I wasn't even asked if I felt she should do any further testing to rule out heart failure. After listening to his heart with her stethoscope, she announced that she did not hear a heart murmur and she was putting him on antibiotics. A few days later my dog died. After speaking with another vet and doing extensive research, i'm 99% sure he died of heart failure. This disease can be treated successfully if treated promptly after being given proper diagnosis. My dog is from a breed which is on the top 10 list of breeds that often have heart failure. (chihuahua) I trusted that she knew what to do and she did not. I told her my concerns. She should have called to see if he was getting better. She did not. This disease is so common in small breed dogs and not that difficult to diagnose. I hold her personally responsible for his death and I only wish I had dug deeper when looking for a new vet. I only spent $28 there for the antibiotics. I would have spent whatever was necessary to help my little dog. I need an apology and that doctor should admit she did not do everything she should have done to diagnose my dog. A refund should, of course, be issued. None of this is really enough. She should be ashamed of herself.

Banfield Pet Hospital wellness plan kitten

Very disappointed! It is a scam! They always reeschedule my neutering appointment. I have lost 2 days of work because of them. Try to reeschedule and they will do it gladly in another 45 days... Please do not sign up for it!
I feel disrespected. The doctors is sick on a holiday? They are very corporate educated but they offer poor service. I will always recommend people not to sign up. Just read all the complaints here!

Banfield Pet Hospital banfield pet hospital killed our dog

February 1, 2019
We brought our schnauzer to Banfield for a routine teeth cleaning but had concerns which we were told would be addressed and looked at prior to administering anesthesia. These concerns were ignored and the Negligence on Banfields part was the cause of our dogs death. On a previous visit December 2018. The same vet handling our dogs teeth cleaning had told my wife our schnauzer may have a heart murmur but not to worry it happens with some dogs but was noted in her write up. On February 1 2019 we dropped our schnauzer off at 7:45 am for a routine teeth cleaning. Upon drop off we brought up the note to check with the dr about her heart condition and asked that a more extensive liver test be run in addition to the standard blood work test as assurance that she would be able to handle the anesthesia. We we assured by the Banfield team this would happen and not to worry. 9:45 am that same morning we received a call that our dogs heart stopped after being administered the anesthesia. She was pronounced dead shortly after. We rushed to the Banfield center and I asked to see these lab results we had requested Banfield could not produce them. I had asked what precaution was taken in regards to the heart condition we spoke of at 7:45 am that same morning. Banfield could not produce any documentation. The negligence of this facility resulted in the death of our once happy healthy family dog. I entrusted Banfield with her life and they ( Banfields) ignored our requests. Our dog is now dead, so Banfield please explain to my child why his dog is gone. She was happy and healthy 9 year old schnauzer your recommendations were to be sure to bring her to us for teeth cleanings to help prolong her life But In fact it was her death sentence due to your Negligence. How did you run the labs and have the results in under an hour and a half.? And now I read about all the dogs you people are killing across the country hundreds and hundreds of complaints.

OMG! They are responsible for the death of my little dog as well! I took my dog in and I told vet that I was concerned that my 9 year old Chihuahua had heart problems due to the fact that he was a breed that often has congenital heart failure AND his symptom of coughing. The vet listened to his heart and said "Oh I don't hear a murmur. I'm going to put him on antibiotics. That should get rid of any infection he has." Again, I questioned her regarding the possible heart problem. She basically ignored me. She said if he didn't get better to bring him back. He died a few days ago and I'm 99% sure he died of congenital heart failure. I went online and read everything I could and I spoke to a vet I know as well. This doctor should have, AT THE VERY LEAST, taken his blood pressure and taken x-rays of his heart. She did not. I trusted that this Dr. Bautista knew what she was doing. After all, she completed vet school, right? I'm so sorry for your loss. I only wish I had dug a little deeper when I was searching for vets. If only I had seen this website, I would still have my little dog. This disease is often very successfully treated IF CORRECT DIAGNOSIS IS GIVEN. Shame. on you Banfield!

Banfield Pet Hospital doctor, surgery, service

Do not go here I warn you! I would give them 0 stars if I could! This place is full of cowards and crooks! I took my dog for his neuter/cryptorchid surgery on friday, 1/25/19 doing the surgery the coward himself dr. Kevin kelley who never would come speak to us bc he knew how bad he screwed up! My dog was already bleeding from his incisions saturday night! We took him back to the vet monday and they seemed careless about it and looked at my dog for all of 3 minutes maybe and once again the doctor - dr. Kevin kelley did not come out to speak to us but had the nurses running back and forth translating for him! Then lastly the problem was not fixed and we had to bring our bleeding dog back the following day bc his incisions were open; this place had the gaul to want to charge us for the whole entire surgery again after we had just paid $712 just a few days prior. Then again the doctors never ever ever faced us during this whole entire ordeal (cowards) and has the nurse come out to tell us that we can work with you since you already have the meds and get it down to $600 lol 😂 I warn you do not go to this place I was told at the beginning the surgery was $348 and I left paying $712 this place will rob you blind and leave your dog or any other animal in pain! To go on they stick it to you by not reimbursing you for there plans they make you get! This place is money hungry, incompetent and careless!

Yes, and you are lucky that your animal is still alive. Their Vets are typically from other countries, fresh out of school and lack real training. Banfield does not care to see that their vets are competent. The reason is that the wellness plans, 2 million of them in fact across the country, added to the teeth cleaning Scam, performed only to extract teeth unnecessarily, makes them rich.

Banfield Pet Hospital availability

We have had wellness plan for at least 3 years. Last friday (11/09/18) my cat got very sick with respiratory problems, I called for an appointment and he could not be seen, was told to take him to emergency. Was told to follow up with his vet at canfield. I called sunday as the cat was not much better and was told they could not see him until wednesday. I had to take him back to er and they changed his meds and thankfully he is much better, disappointed that when you need service it is unavailable. We also have the wellness plan.

You were just lucky that your animal is still alive. Run away from this company as fast as you can! They are incompetent not only in their business aspect but their medical aspect as their veterinarians are not adequately trained. Banfield probably has the highest rate of dog deaths there is ever been! What is esp terrible is that they are doing nothing to prevent it.

Banfield Pet Hospital negligent and unethical behavior - they caused the death of our english bulldog

On april 13, 2018, we took our fur son in for a routine teeth cleaning/vaccination at the west valley, utah facility. He was a little stressed when we dropped him off so we asked them to check his breathing. An hour later the vet leaves a voice message and said she is not doing teeth cleaning due to stressed breathing. She tells us we can pick him up in ~2 hours then calls an hour later and says get here quickly. When my husband arrived a vet tech was doing cpr, and the vet was pacing the floor. A second tech was injecting fluids. My husband could see the vet tech was tiring and no one was switching off with her. He ended up switching off with the vet tech administering cpr all while the vet paced the floor and said nothing (my husband mimicked what the vet tech was doing as he is not trained in animal cpr). Our dog was never intubated which is a must for bulldog breathing problems. The investigating banfield rep said that the vet stuck him "in a kennel next to her while she worked on another dog" and our dog aspirated and dropped in the kennel. She could hear him and see him and she did nothing. Also, the banfield rep told us that our dog "was probably already dead before my husband arrived and they just went through the motions so that we would know they tried to save him". When my husband arrived, our dog was not intubated. There was no cpap machine anywhere in the area.
In speaking with the banfield rep he claimed our bulldog was intubated. My husband argued this point since he was there and assisted in cpr. Mind you, the vet stated in her report that they were doing mouth to mouth resuscitation... With a cpap? Really? Her report never mentioned that my husband did cpr on our dog either. There are many discrepancies in her report that we never received answers for.
In an effort to understand what transpired, banfield offered to do an x-ray. We got a copy of the x-ray (she took 2) and took them to a bulldog specialist. He tried to read the x-rays, the x-rays were so blurry the only thing he could confirm was that our dog's trachea was normal.
The vet who practices at the west valley, utah facility stated in her report the following: "difficult to assess radiographs due to patient size". A full vet hospital should have the capability to perform x-rays on any size animal. She also mentions that there was fluid on his lungs. This happens normally when cpr is performed on anyone. The rep, when questioned about the legibility of the x-rays said "the machine may have not been working properly that day". Wouldn't a functioning hospital have more than one machine?
Banfield pushes quantity for $ not quality care. The vet didn't know what she was doing with a specialized breed. Banfield's negligence caused our dog's death.
Do not risk your dog's life! Do not sign up for banfield wellness plans or take your dog to banfield. They don't care about your fur babies, they care about money and how many animals they can move in a day. They are a corporate entity that thinks they can shut up anyone by throwing blood money at you and paying for cremation costs. If you love your pet, do the right thing and take them to someone who knows what they are doing and truly cares about your fur family.

The Vets at Banfield are inadequately trained. They are typically fresh out of school from other countries, easily manipulated by Banfield to put their ethics aside and Unfortunately receive no additional training once they are on the job. They are asked to do things that they are not equipped to do. They killed my dog, they have killed many dogs and they will continue to kill many more dogs because they don’t care to improve anything. The reason they get away with it is because their facilities are spread out across the country, I think they have about 1200 nationwide and when a dog dies in California and a dog dies in Idaho and a dog dies in Connecticut ...well the dots have a difficult time being connected. But it’s time that they change their ways,

Banfield Pet Hospital fraud and intentional misrepresentation

I took my dog in because he was limping, i authorized an x ray of his leg, when i checked out I signed the credit card keypad electronically, the girl told me she was new and I would have to come back for my paperwork because she didn't know what she was doing yet as she was new and everyone else was busy, so I left I came in a week later to get my paperwork Katie was there again and could not find it so I came back the next day, when I got my paperwork it had a wellness contract in it that I never agreed to, so I called them and told them that, I told them I never saw that contract nor did I sign it and they said oh yes you signed it electronically on the cc keypad, I was like "WHAT?!" no I did not, I thought I was signing authorization for my cc bill, I never saw the contract, they still are billing me and I have called many many times and they just blow me off saying yeah, and keep billing it! TOTAL SCAMMERS!

Banfield Pet Hospital scheduling & management attitude

I was scheduled a appointment on labor day Monday .this location waited until I was down there to notify me of the pet store they rent inside of will be closed until a later time . The store tried to argue the fact they tried to clean but my number was incorrectly on file but that appointment was scheduled a month propr so they had enough time to contact me . Via email or mail they same ways I sent in the confirmation that I would attend . Now the date my dog was scheduled her spade appointment has to be cancelled because someone booked me and another dog on the same day . Telling me that I am the one that has to reschedule and if my dog go through heat before the appointment I will have to pay more . The manager had a nasty attitude she began argung with me over a missed shot / deworm appointment that was irrelevant to fact this is the second time her store screwed me .

Banfield Pet Hospital vet services

If you want your dog alive, avoid any and all banfields. I thought this one was the exemption, nice clean office with friendly staff but I was wrong and I am paying a very hefty price for my mistake... because of them my dog is now fighting for her life at a hospital and I am spending thousands of dollars with no idea if she's going to make it.

Some background to my story: Abby, my 7 yr old rat terrier, was diagnosed with diabetes at the end of December. Because of all of the issues she was having they thought she might have cushings disease they recommended I do an ultra sound that would rule it out, the doctor kept recommending we take her to her Alma matter in Gainsville! Where they would promptly charge me 700+ for their services and without taking into consideration how far that is from winter springs (we have since found a local vet office who performed the ultra sound a fraction of the price).

Because I was concerned about her and cushings disease, what this vet clinic was pushing, I agreed to pay 300 for the test, I asked if I should buy a glucose monitoring kit and she sold me on the urine strips instead. After a month of no change in her glucose level, they kept her on the same insulin and recommended weekly glucose curve and another test at $200 per weekly visit.

They also mentioned that we should eventually test her for pancreatitis, with no explanation of what pancreatitis is or things to do with her at home in case she had it... with no knowledge or information I decided that it would be best to focus on getting her sugar levels under control. The moment I decided I needed to see another vet was when I asked a doctor about what signs I needed to watch for warning that Abby was hypoglycemic (sugar dangerously low)... and he had to refer to the notes of another doctor in my discharge papers. I was floored at the lack of basic knowledge in this hospital.

I made an appt for Abby at another vet hospital but she didn't even make it to that appointment, I had to rush her in as an emergency.

Turns out, she had reached ketoacidosis (when blood sugar is too high for too long) because she was insulin resistant and was on the wrong kind of insulin and in fact had pancreatitis. The new vet knew right away as she had too much fat in her blood when they took her blood samples. Something I know for a fact Banfield saw in her blood bc they pointed it out.

I also found out that there is a $50 test that Banfield could have done to test for pancreatitis markers but never once offered.

Too late I found out that Pancreatitis is a curable disease but life threatening if left untreated. If I had known back then, I could have cured it at home and with a low fat diet.

Now she might not make it, because Banfield prefers money over saving a dog's life... instead of offering me options, they were pushing for me to go to their affiliated university hospital.

The worst part of this is, if Abby doesn't make it... I'll have to pay out the remaining of her insurance contract until November.

PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT COMING HERE.

Banfield Pet Hospital death of my dog

Banfield Pet Hospital should be banned from caring for Animals especially after looking at this petition and the comments of what happened to People's animals. I am signing this petition because I do feel that Banfield Pet Hospital was negligent in every sense of the word. I brought my dog Coco in for a Well Visit she was in good health good spirits happy jumping around her old excited self and when we brought her in she received a clean bill of health she had no physical problems she had no parasites no worms no fecal matter and she was in a good bill of health. They showed us the paperwork where all her exams were negative then they sent my dog home when they sent her home she was lethargic bubbling from the mouth very thirsty smacking her lips and could not walk had brown urine all over the foyer area in the sunroom. I told my family something is wrong with her come see she's not uh same self and she wouldn't even come for her food or drink water or her treats which was very very rare. I called Banfield Pet Hospital and told them what was happening they told me that it may be just a small reaction to her shots and call them in the morning if it gets worse. I called Banfield and told them to please let us bring her in so we brought her in they are told him what was happening I showed them pictures of her brown urine and I asked them to please check her blood and urine to see what is going on cuz look like she have been injected with something wrong or too much of her vaccines. The hospital told me that she had already had her urine and blood checked and that they weren't going to check it again and I told them but that is before they gave her the shots now they need to check her blood in urine since that was after she was given the shots and they did not do it. They kept my dog for a couple of hours and told me that they gave her steroids and IV injections and then they sent her back home. To make a long story short when they sent her back home without even texting her my dog died they called me the next morning July 17th 2018 asked me how she was doing I burst out and my family burst out crying on the phone to them told them that they have killed our dog and something needs to be done about it. Now they are rushing our family to accept a hundred and some change dollars for her death and I will not accept that and will not sign any papers until I talk to a lawyer because they're trying to hide something and they know that they are responsible for Coco's death.

Banfield Pet Hospital cancellation process

my mother passed away a month and a half ago. i see recurring charges for this banfield wellness so i call to cancel. first the lady tells me if i stay on the phone my wait time is over 2 hours. she said i could send an email however payment should be taken today. she cant guarantee money would be given back! i get the email then ask her to connect me ill wait...
the first this the automated system says is " one second while i verify your account" . then it proceeds to tell me they've saved my place in line and if id just like a call back to just hang up now. wtf, i don't even have an account. and the system sure did not repeat any phone number back to me. so here i sit on hold still. it sounds as though someone keeps turning on my linee then putting me back on hold.

Banfield Pet Hospital malpractice

I took my 4years old rotty to banfield because I noticed a lump on his chest, they said its just a muscle strain and it should go away. It kept growing and growing, and got to both sides, and took him in twice after that and each time, they said its just something minor and ignored it. two years later, I took him in again due to his heavy breathing, and they said its nothing really, so i took him to an actual VET and he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, two days later, he lost his vision, he started bleeding out of his eye balls, the cancer was so devastating.
This rotty was the companion of 3 children, an 8 year old girl, a 9 year old girl and a 12 year old boy, and the emotional support of a 35 year old man. Loved by many, and missed by all!
So i called banfield to tell them that he is no longer with us, so the woman on the phone technically told me that i have to pay 600 due to a contract, (i am still in mourning phase), so i told her about the misdiagnosis/negligence/malpractice from their certified vets, and she straight up told me: "I don't care and i dont want to discuss this with you, You will have to pay the contract terms".
What a great company! money hungry corporate.
I would like them to face legal consequences, because I have heard at least 30 other stories like that from people like that.
any guidance on how to proceed from here?

OMGoodness, the stories of pet-owners losing their precious loved-ones are breaking my heart! I am switching immediately after a dastardly experience 2 weeks ago - I could have lost my Poodle (death!) if I'd not insisted upon taking him to yet another animal doctor --ER hours + ER costs $$ --but I still thankfully have my Henri. Banfield docs entirely missed the clues entirely! His esophagus was BLOCKED!

Thankfully, veterinarians elsewhere caught it and arranged for emergency surgery at a hospital with an internist surgeon on-call (4am at this point!)

I am pursuing the costs of what I spent elsewhere as a result of Banfield's negligence. Please reconsider the attractiveness of their "Wellness-Plans"...as necessary as those "free/included" features are (heartworm pills, discounted annual dental, comprehensive semi-annual exams, vaccinations) it is NOT worth the C- quality care when one REALLY needs a vet who can catch the critical issues.

Banfield Pet Hospital wellness plan / teeth cleaning / money grabbing practices

Do not sign up for banfield wellness plan, it's a scam and you won't be able to cancel. It's also not an pet insurance. It's a scam. I took my dog to Banfield to do shots and the vet and staff sold me on their wellness plan with teeth cleaning. Do not do the same mistake. They sell you teeth cleaning but tell you that they will call you during the time your dog is under anesthesia and tell you if there need to be more services. They said that some people end up paying thousands of dollars extra for the "oral surgery" and extractions but they can't tell you upfront when your dog would need. I had a bad feeling about it but didn't listen to my gut and signed up or the plan. I told them though that I don't want them to do anything to my dog besides cleaning. They agreed. I scheduled cleaning and later received the voicemail from banfield telling me that my dog is scheduled for teeth cleaning and oral surgery. I was floored. They didn't tell me she needed surgery, as a matter of fact they said it will be just cleaning. I went online and read all bad reviews they had an decided that no matter what I'm not taking my dog there. I called to cancel my plan but they refused. I asked to put me on a lower care plan since I haven't used teeth cleaning from the plan I signed up and they refused too. This is the rudest, most horrible money grabbing place that don't care about your pets at all. Stay as far as you can from them!

Banfield Pet Hospital pet services

My older boxer has multiple lipomas which is common for this breed. I took him there as our local vet doesn't perform surgery. He has an ulcerative lipoma with questionable pathology on the base of his ear. They immediately said he had an ear infection... No symptoms of this and I had not only worked for an ent physician but had a spaniel who had chronic disease when I adopted him, we got him cleared up on people meds. I am told they diagnose a large % of (esp new) dogs who come in. They wanted $160 for ear meds (which I paid) another 320 for antibiotics for his wound. I'm a nurse and worked in plastics/reconstructive surgery and local pharmacy keflex is fine for this and I askedfor a prescription... $16.00. I was given a quote of $2200.00 to remove said lesion. This did not include his boarding or anesthesia costs.

I decided to take him to another vet, a local vet who commented that his ears looked fine and I ended up paying about $1000 for his surgery and everything inclusive. I got to bring him home that day, dressings and pain meds were inclusive of that price and we resumed the keflex, that I had previously bought for him.

I am new to the banfield services, but since I am been told that much like a car dealership, they are pressured to make sales and to use your love for your pet to buy, buy, buy their services. I managed an surgery center for 12 years, our reimbursement from medicare would have been less than $1000 for the surgery he ended up having for our human patients.

I am recommending that everyone use their local vet services and complain if they are pressured to purchased new expensive meds, high priced surgeries esp if you have to use a banfield service. Cuz, they will see you, walk-in, out of towner or emergency... And really throw the foul flag if they say your dog has an ear infection.

Banfield Pet Hospital I will never return

I was extremely stressed out and had probably the worst day in my life. My 18-year-old dog was ill and stopped walking and our family made the hardest decision to put him to sleep. When I brought him to the hospital the vet started to tell me that our dog had chances to survive and live in a loving family and that we do to him is horrible. I knew I was right but I was destroyed by an attitude like this. They don't know how to treat people who have to say goodbye to their wonderful pets.

Banfield Pet Hospital pet insurance

I cancelled my pet insurance for my two dogs several years ago, after an incompetent vet at a Banfield location nearly killed my German Shepard. I should have sued, but instead decided to let it go and try to move on. Banfield is still trying to collect on the insurance I cancelled. That's not how insurance works! Now its on my credit report. I want it removed!

I had being going to banfield hospital for many years and obtain the insurance for my sweet dog and years later we rescued a little kitten, took him for his check up and vaccines, so i decided to get the insurance for him as well. Unfortunately a year after we got the kitty, my dog passed away and two months later the kitty also passed away as well, according to the vet he developed a disease that they get from the litter when they are first born and it starts to develop when they turn a year old. There is no cure for it . It was a total devastation for our family to have lost our 2 sweet babies, especially for my youngest daughter who is autistic and was protected by our loving dog Toby throughout her life, her best friend! When I called the pet insurance from Banfield to cancel, they said that I couldn't cancel any of the insurance, and that I was responsible to pay for TWO YEARS until it was done, one year for each pet.
So I asked if I could at least have it turned over for another dog and kitty since i was paying it, if they could at a least change the breed, they said no. I would have to purchase another insurance for those new pets while still paying for the insurance of both diseased pets for 2 years. I think is ridiculous! I don't have my babies anymore and they expect to still be paid for them. This is something that they do not explain when you are getting the insurance. Now they have me in collections on my credit report, because I never sent them anymore payments. Why should I pay close to 100 for the pets that passed away! I will dispute this all the way! I want it removed for my credit report!

Banfield Pet Hospital tooth extraction

Our 12 ½ year old Whippet had his teeth cleaned at our local Banfield. During the procedure, Banfield contacted us for permission to remove one of our dog’s molars because the root was showing right above it. We gave them the ok, and after the procedure was over, we were informed that during the tooth extraction, a small piece of the root had broken off and was now lodged between the gum and the nasal cavity. Our vet, although very experienced, was not able to retrieve the piece of bone, and did not want to keep our older dog under anesthesia longer than his health permitted. The clinic is also not technically equipped to handle very specialized surgery. We were very worried that this complication would require another procedure under anesthesia, and at that point regretted our decision in allowing the tooth extraction.

Encountering this issue, our veterinarian did not hesitate to report the problem to us and called a specialist on the spot. Banfield volunteered to cover the total cost and is paying for specialist services to solve our dog’s problem. We are very satisfied with Banfield’s prompt actions, and grateful to our vet for her honesty and expertise. We will continue to have both our dogs treated at Banfield, with no hesitation or reservations concerning the quality of care.
