I can't believe you let Trump's "town hall meeting" happen in the manner it did. I expected there would be a balanced audience, politically. I was looking forward to people challenging him and his lies. But what you did was broadcast one of his stupid rallies nationally. Even FOX News is laughing at you.

Licht, if you're behind this - resign now.

I'm not going to watch you for the time being. I might go back but you need to redeem yourselves. I never dreamed the news channel that I watched constantly would cater to Trump!

The fact that you would give a platform to a person who tried to destroy the country, who enjoys and brags about sexual assault - and was just found liable for it, and a person who is a blatant racist, fascist, homophobe and immoral ignoramus is disgusting, inexcusable and unjustifiable. I listened to Licht's call to his staff this morning about the townhall and I was absolutely floored at how clueless he is! I cannot believe that an ignorant MAGAt now runs CNN. The whole thing last night was disgusting and Kaitlin looked like a deer in the headlights, failed to push back EFFECTIVELY at all, and showed how incredibly incompetent and weak she is. I mean she acted like a high school girl in awe of a con man - just pitiful.

It is unbelievable that you held a Town Hall meeting with Trump, allowing him to again spread lies to the American people, and belittle women who have been sexually assaulted. Why do you want to become a network that allows someone to blatantly lie to the public while claiming to be a "news" station? FOX pretty much has that covered. I guess the next thing that will happen is that you'll hire Tucker Carlson!

I'm no longer going to watch your station. You had to know this would end badly, so I guess you really don't care if folks tune into a different media outlet. So, bye CNN.

I am highly disappointed that CNN provided exclusive air time to again spread his lies and venom. Despite Collins efforts to control the topics, Trump, as always deflected, lied, and advanced his own agenda aggressively.

Selecting a overwhelming biased audience further provided ammunition to Trump's deceit, and was disgusting to watch as they laughed at issues of sexual abuse by the ex President.

As a result, I am significantly reducing my extensive use of CNN for news and analysis! You, and other outlets must find a way to reduce the free airtime of Trump's lies and report only essential information. Avoid the circus!

On 05/10/2023 I witnessed the ultimate ruination of CNN by Chris Licht. Not only was the narcissistic sociopath, otherwise known as Donald Trump, given prime airtime to promote his lies and deceit, but the audience was completely filled with his reTrumplican followers. Their clapping for his promise to pardon convicted Jan. 6 insurrectionists and laughing in response to his degrading comments regarding E. Jean Carroll (after he was just found liable for sexual abuse and defamation in her civil lawsuit against him) was WORSE than disgusting! Kaitlin Collins was feckless and reduced to nothing more than a child. The greatest insults to the viewers were that Trump's lies were not rebuffed or fact checked in real time, nor was there an official follow-up rebuttal to this program to temper the perception that we just watched a former truth-telling news network cow towing to a wannabe authoritarian dictator!

I will miss the talented journalists who I've watched daily for decades (Dana, Wolf, Erin, Jake, Jim, Kate, John, Sara, Harry, etc., even Anderson) but I can no longer support a "news" network that gives a platform to an illegitimate pathological liar to hold a Presidential campaign rally thinly disguised as a town hall meeting. I deleted my CNN iPhone app and have stopped watching on tv.

I generally regarded CNN as a valid news source, UNLIKE Rupert Murdoch’s Faux News. Until, of course, CNN provided a seditious, malignantly narcissistic megalomaniac sociopath a platform for spewing more propaganda and outright lies, not to mention the mockery of one of his sexual assault victims — who, moreover, had just been awarded a $5 million settlement for sexual assault. What’s next. A retrospective on Jeffrey Epstein? Joseph Goebbels? Maybe a biography of Madison Cawthorne? I’m sickened and disgusted. Needless to say, I now consider CNN on the level of Faux News, that is to say a propaganda and entertainment source that I will happily bypass. Forget politics — the embrace of misogyny, racism and fascism completely destroys CNN credibility.

I was really disappointed upon hearing CNN scheduled a town hall for Trump. Why would you give him a platform to speak while knowing he was the mastermind behind the insurrection… Anyone who doesn’t have a cult-like mentality can see Trump for who he is and is sincerely praying he never becomes president of our country again. There is no need to listen to him anymore; the words that spew out of his mouth are no surprise to anyone. He is an open book that doesn’t need to be read anymore. I am one American who opted to not watch your town hall last evening. I turned CNN on this morning and quickly changed the channel because your “news” was last evening’s town hall. Keep giving Trump airtime and I’ll find another news network to watch.

Everything negative I wanted to say about giving Trump a platform has already been said repeatedly. Kaitlin Collins did the best she could but was no match for Trump. I will just say that I have CNN on all day every day and I will be switching to MSNBC. Your new management has ruined the programming. Never thought I would see the day that CNN would follow Fox News down the rabbit hole, no integrity, just ratings!

This is to express my complete disappointment in what you called a town hall for the most corrupt and dangerous man to ever occupy the oval office. A town hall is supposed to be an audience of independent and undecided voters... Not a political rally. This was disgusting and offensive. You were a standard bearer for the news industry in the past... Please do not change into some far right network... If you do, expect boycotts

Your town hall with the former president was a abomination. To give him a platform to continue his lies and defamation is unacceptable. Sounded like one of his rallies. My thoughts; you not only let down your viewers but the whole nation. While Kaitlin Collins did her job of trying to hold him accountable for answering questions, she was trying to interview a narcissistic mentally unstable sociopath that is not capable of truth telling. CNN won't be on my programming list in the future.

I will make it my life mission to boycott myself, and have my friends, family and everyone I can reach daily for the foreseeable future. They already have oan, news max, fox and other outlets. How about you stay out of the fascist business. Why are you letting a hitler wannabe have air time. You are trying to destroy this country. You suck and I hope your rating tank worse. You humiliated your network and especially your on-air moderator by giving an hour of prime time to that shameful display of Donald Trump’s vitriolic lies. As a journalist, I am more than sorry to see what has been a respectable news organization fall so very low.

You promoted the “town hall” as having an audience that included “undecided voters,” when in fact it was entirely filled with delusional true believers. I’ve read that under new leadership,CNN is trying to get off Trump’s bad side, so therefore you gave him this forum.

In the same week that this year’s Pulitzer Prizes were awarded, honoring the best of our field, you soiled yourself with this craven effort to win some of Trump’s followers.

It is reckless and irresponsible to hide behind the veil of journalism in aiding and abetting a serial liar, cheater, sexual assaulter, and seditionist. You give credence to his lies by giving Trump a nationally televised, primetime platform. With a Trump friendly crowd behind him, you've lent credence to all his lies: every time the crowd cheered when he insulted a sexual assault victim, or when they cheered his outrageous crap. And fact-checking? Did you really think you could properly fact check in real-time?

I can tell you that I rely on CNN for my news, and visit the website frequently. That will not be the case moving forward. You've lost a customer.

I am not just angry but also baffled about your decision to allow Donald Trump to spew his lies on a national tv platform! The man is a traitor and accused sexual predator. To make matters worse it resembled a Trump rally with his supporters clapping and cheering for him. The audience did not challenge him they worshiped him! The whole thing was a disgrace. The sad result of your airing him on your show is some viewers will end up still believing his lies. CNN has lowered its standards and is looking more like FOX news, the number one propaganda machine on TV! I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding your decision to hold a town hall with twice impeached, convicted sex offender and liar, former President Donald Trump. As a viewer and supporter of your network, I was deeply troubled by the lies and vitriol that were on full display during the event.

Given the significant harm that Trump's words and actions have caused over the past few years, I believe that it was irresponsible and potentially dangerous to give him a platform to spread his falsehoods and divisive rhetoric. The fact that CNN provided him with this platform only serves to legitimize and amplify his harmful messages. This allows him to hijack democracy and replace it with chaos.

Furthermore, I believe that CNN has a responsibility to uphold the values of journalistic integrity and truth-telling, especially in a time when the truth is under attack. By hosting a town hall with Trump, you have not only FAILED to live up to this responsibility, but you have also potentially contributed to the erosion of trust in journalism and the media. Perhaps you should start wearing MAGA hats.

I urge CNN to reconsider its decision to provide a platform to ALL individuals who promote lies and misinformation, and instead prioritize responsible, fact-based reporting that serves the public interest.

I have always liked CNN and have been a faithful follower of your news coverage through television and my iphone app. It has generally been my top source for news for many years.

I am both angry and appalled that you would use your resources to put Donald Trump in front of a national television audience so that he can continue to lie and mislead the American public.

What was promoted as a "town hall" session seemed to quickly dissolve into nothing more than Donald Trump rally, complete with people clapping and cheering at every ugly and disparaging comment he made. Very little of the misinformation he spewed was challenged in any meaningful way because as usual, he overtalked the host. His behavior was certainly foreseeable, given his track record for disregarding any kind of civilized format or protocol.

I truly hope that you will not consider giving him any more air time to continue spreading blatant lies and deceit.

In addition, I would feel the same about any of the MAGA Republicans such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Bobert, Matt Gaetz and any of the others that don't seem to know the difference between reality and fantasy.

What are the people who control interviews on CNN thinking, in allowing this person who threatened our very democracy to have a platform where he will continue to spew his lies, his rudeness, his terrorism? Oh, maybe that's it, no one on CNN is thinking, certainly not about preserving our democracy. Just looking out for ratings. Maybe Trump will make another call to arms to his support groups while speaking, for sixty minutes, on your station. Will you be proud boys then? I am disgusted and thoroughly disappointed. Hi. I'm a big fan of CNN, and watch from England, and I'm messaging to ask very gently if you could possibly rethink the interview you have scheduled for next Wednesday.

It seems to me that many civilized people around the world are - for the first time - feeling pretty glum and guilty about the way we've unwittingly encouraged Trump over the past few years, simply by listening to him, thinking about him and gawping at the man.

There's no reason that a privately-owned business like yours should carry the weight of this problem, or try to find a solution.

And yet, the world very much hopes that you can.

I have been a life long viewer & supporter of CNN but no longer. I find it inconceivable that you are giving a platform to Trump who incited January 6th to overthrow our democracy , caused the deaths of our brave police & shook our foundation to the very core. He is a traitor,pathological & viscous liar,& intent on destroying our democracy. Why would you give him a platform & free press. Fox ratings? Dispicable. Light has destroyed CNN . I can no longer trust what is being reported on your station. I am sorry for your once noble journalists that have to be in fear of towing the line
