Trump is a “man” who refuses to debate ( because he refuses to follow any decorum or rules) yet CNN was willing to give him a free 70 minutes and an open megaphone.

In the last debates, moderators had to switch to shutting off mics to keep him from ignoring the time given. You knew this. He refused to debate with any rules in place.

CNN rewarded him, then allowed him to stack the audience with trump supporters. You enabled him to “do whatever I want”. This did not have to be aired live. Your reporters admitted he is impossible to fact check. You sent an interviewer who couldn’t control the interview.

Wasn’t Don Lemon removed because of a misogynistic remark? Why did CNN platform this, knowing he would lie and defame women?

When does CNN get sued for airing misogyny “with malice”? We all knew what would be said. None of it was new or news.

I am totally disgusted with him and with CNN, the new FOX.

Drumpf has killed thousands of Americans by denying science during the pandemic and convincing millions to do the same.

Did CNN give equal time to Charles Manson, David Berkowitz, and the Unibomber? Then, Anderson Cooper wants to blame the audience for living in silos! Do NOT air this man live. This is not journalism, it’s money making of the worst kind.

To give a forum to this man found guilty of sexual assault, this anti-American, anti—democracy piece of garbage who attacked our country on 1/6, who attempted to commit election fraud, who stole top secret documents and lied about it, who’s going to be indicted for multiple felonies in multiple jurisdictions, is disgusting for a Warner Bros. company. Under current management, it would be difficult to stoop any lower. It’s sad what Warner Bros. and CNN have become. To let a man have air time who as President, watched for three hours and did nothing while police officers were brutally attacked by the mob he summoned is inexcusable.

i was absolutely nauseated after viewing the trump town hall. as a "News Network" you must apologize to your viewers in prime time by your CEO who also must say in a list each and every misinformation and lie told by DJ Trump.

I have been a Canadian viewer for 10 years and this may be it for me.

CNN didn’t HAVE to do this Trump “town hall”so far ahead of other candidates even entering the race. You also sent a cream puff to try to a knife fight. We all knew he would be a rude steamroller. The last debates had to set limits— to cut his mic and if I recall, trump refused to debate under those conditions. He can’t apeak under oath or face E.Jean Carroll either. Consequently, this was just a free, televised trump rally. He was allowed to lie unchecked, non-stop, unopposed.

If we all knew he couldn’t be fact checked then CNN shouldn’t have done it.

Licht is single handed destroying CNN. The Trump propaganda platform was given a gift by Licht. It was an unsuccessful disgusting attempt at critically poor thinking. A bevy of terrible decisions. This schmuck should be fired …. With a tweet. I have been watching CNN since the days of Ted Turner. That’s right, I am 73 and you have pushed me to MSNBC. The verbal diarrhea just plain disgusting.

You have removed most of our beloved hosts and are trying to make us accept your views! It is unappreciated, to say the least. Brian Salter just left because of the nonsense, you fired Don Lemon for standing up to a lie from a Presidential candidate, and now you want to gaslight us into accepting what you, Chris Lichte, a far-right Republican, are trying to make us believe. Please stop trying to force Donald Trump down our throats! Your ratings will continue to plummet!

I'd like to file a complaint about CNN's putting a sexually predatory criminal on the air and allowing him free rein to bloviate, spewing incoherent, slimy, sleazy, disgusting ,uninformative, largely un-factual, sometimes fascist nothings to the benefit of absolutely no-one - this is not journalism, this is not being objective, this is not looking at both sides. This is pure money grubbing spectacle and we the remaining sentient beings in the U.S. see right through you. Have you no decency.

Under Chris Licht's leadership, CNN has failed to produce a news program with the commentary offering the viewers a full and responsible analysis of the events we have come to expect. The direction CNN is now on is a complete disaster. Instead of the respected anchors we trust and enjoy like John King, Jack Trapper, and Brian Stelter, we have happy talk programs full of sound and fury. This is not the way to build ratings. I now watch MSNBC on Sundays because CNN no longer offers any substance.

CNN was a very important source of news and commentary for me during the years of the Trump presidency, when every day brought more fear and dread as an aspiring dictator dismantled more and more parts of our democracy and endangered us all. During those years, I became a more regular viewer of CNN, shared segments with others on social media, and appreciated the network even more than I had earlier.

I am completely disgusted with your decision to present his town hall meeting the other night. He feeds on such opportunities.

That was a disgrace. Allowing Trump to fill the audience with his demented supporters crossed a line from journalism into pandering to a fascist.

Chris Licht should be fired and he can go look for work at FOX.

CNN has always been my first news source and home page on my browsers. After that disgrace I no longer trust CNN and changed my siurce to NBC. com.

I am done with the "new" CNN.

In 2016, the MSM throughout the nation disgraced itself by failing to properly report on Trump's background and behavior; instead they repeatedly provided him free publicity and helped secure his victory in 2016. In office he exceeded even the worst expectations of his detractors, capped by his determined efforts to overturn our democracy and our Constitution and throw out the results of an election he lost. He continues to promote the big lie that he won the election. CNN knew who he was and yet decided to, in effect, broadcast a MAGA rally, where he was allowed to spew lies without any effectual effort to stop him. Trump is the American Hitler, a bully, a racist, a sexual predator, and a traitor enamored of Putin, and CNN decided that allowing him a platform for his propaganda would be beneficial to their bottom line. It was an outrage and it's unclear how CNN can ever recover its reputation. Before Licht, CNN was a moderate voice on issues; Licht seems to want to make it another part of the RW echo chamber, destroying our future and turning us into an autocracy.

Last nights Town Hall Meeting with Donald Trump was a farcically conducted mockery of journalism. The selection of a completely loyal audience to Mr. Trump made the entire affair a prejudiced Presidential election propaganda platform. Nothing new about Mr Trump’s positions were gained by this futile exercise. It was completely a rehash of his 2016/20 campaigns. I was totally disgusted with this attempt at giving Mr. Trump an equal voice. The Town Hall Meeting was a total failure at fairness and truthfulness. My opinion of CNN has dropped to rock bottom. From this point forth, I will no longer listen to or watch the CNN news channel.

You’ve lost a long time viewer after last nights travesty. Putting Trump front and center in front of a MAGA audience wasn’t journalism, it was a platform for him to spew his lies, insult E Jean Carroll’s integrity and reputation once again (while the poor excuse of an audience clapped and laughed) AND insult Caitlyn Collins, with no counter offensive. She never stood a chance and he just continued with his lies and misogyny. I’m not sure what Chris Licht was hoping to accomplish with this disgraceful display, but it didn’t work. If it’s ratings he was after, I’m sure many tuned in to watch the circus, but many more will deflect to MSNBC and never look back. I hope all of the journalists with any semblance of integrity quit.

If you must provide a forum for Trump to advance his campaign, could you at least provide equal time to Biden for his campaign? They are both declared candidates.

In addition, there are other declared candidates on the Republican side. You might argue that their poll numbers are too low to give them a platform. If you would give them a little air time that might change. Any one of them would be a better choice than Trump. It is so far in advance of the Primaries that it is questionable whether it is appropriate to be holding Town Halls at all, but in the interest of preserving our democracy you have a moral duty to avoid a repeat of 2016 when all networks gave wall to wall coverage of every word out of the man's mouth while the other candidates could not get a hearing.

Your primary interest seems to be drawing viewers. That is a dangerous policy. If you succeed in getting Trump elected again you might regret turning your network over to him. He will likely never forgive you for past sins against him and will shut you down if he gets the chance. Think of the country and give other candidates a chance if you feel it is time to start covering the campaigns.

Learn from this and never again give Trump the chance to take center stage with his firehose of falsehoods. Your moderator was no match for that.

You have lost myself and my extended family as viewers for this sham you allowed in the Trump Town Hall. Filling the seats with MAGA extremists, allowing him to lie, not supporting your anchor. I am embarrassed for you as a company. You obviously have no credibility now as Jounalists and have actually incited further harm to our country. You must want to be the new FOX, well then pay attention to what happened to them and if you allow extremists to lie and manipulate the company, you deserve to be sued in the future.

America was not "well served" by your broadcast. Congratulations on your ratings. It's like giving Putin and an audience of Putin supporters a couple hours of national airtime. You failed America completely. You've learned nothing from 2015 until now. "You are fake news". Get that money though.

American democracy suffered another blow at CNN's hands last night.

I can remember when Ted Turner first started CNN and have it enjoyed it over the years. I can also remember when someone told me that this new network had taken a skit on the Tracy Ulman show and turned it into the Simpsons, While I enjoyed that show, I noticed then that the news presented wasn't what every other news organization was reporting and didn't seem to be true, so I didn't watch it. Now you seem to have a Trump operator by the name of Chris Licht trying to turn CNN into another Fox like right wing propaganda outlet. After that hour long platform for that traitor Trump to rehash all those lies last night, never again will CNN will be played on our TV's or listened to on TuneIn at work. Good bye Wolf Blitzer, will miss you.

I thought long about my feelings on this issue today and realized that for the first time EVER, I had trouble tuning into CNN this morning (the day after the Trump Townhall) so I needed to let my feelings known.

I have used your network for news and information, even just letting it play during the day as background noise when I'm doing other things. After the airing of Mr. Trump, with his abuse of your airtime and your journalist, followed by all the air time that Anderson and Jake provided for 'analysis' was totally ridiculous. I always thought CNN gave too much time to Trump during his initial run, but I was willing to forgive that since we all (as a society) got caught up in that train wreck. At this point, and after all that your network has been through with Trump, I'm now convinced that for you, it is all about ratings - which is the same as Fox, as far as I'm concerned.

Like others who have submitted their disappointment and complaints, I'll need to take a break from you guys and maybe lean more toward NPR and BBC for perspective and truthful reporting. I'll have to wait to see if you guys go back to news or stay low and focus on ratings over substance.
