Horrible, horrible, horrible! There's fraud cooking at az's second largest church! Yes, ccv (Ccvonline.com) senior pastor and phony "christian" dr. Don wilson and equally phony senior staffers scott chandler and jon edmiston, have been notified in writing by me numerous times for over one year that a formal, known, member of ccv church, fraudster, phoenix lawyer edward maldonado, a former maricopa county prosecutor and current maricopa county attorney (Who is so unsuccessful that he still seeks private clients (To screw over) on the side through his lawyer ads on the ccv church website, ccvonline.com) has acted in a highly unethical and in fact criminal manner with me, a former ccv attendee - member (Until this ripoff happened to me and nobody responsed or cared and i stopped attending) . I hired mr maldonado after seeing and trusting his "honesty" church legal services ad in the buisness section of ccvonline.com and maldonado completely screwed me over in "representing" me. Yes, maldonado demanded money orders upfront from me before he would start any work, then once he cashed them, he failed to return calls or emails, abandoned my case just days before my trial forcing me to represent myself, to my horror, (But since it was a bogus case to begin with i secured a complete dismissal of my case and i had and still have no criminal record) , then in violation of az state bar ethics rules malfonado failed to return my fees, then he refused to return my written demand for return of my fees, then to get even with me for demanding back my money, he maliciously wrote and mailed a bad - nsf check to an incorrect out of state address days before my az trial, which i was in az preparing for, so i would have to spend a two days and a thousand bucks to drive out of state to retreive it to cash it to hire another replacement lawyer, which he knew i would have to do. Very christ - like behavior on his part. But the check was not there when i drove out that time or the next time. Two weeks later the check arrived and was bad - nsf on three separate attempts at his bank - b of a. Writing a bad - nsf check - is a felony in maricopa county az. But the worst part is, when i notified maldonado that he had written a bad check and per statute, had 15 days to make it good before fees, costs and interest were allowed, he did nothing. He failed and refused to ever make his bad nsf - check good with the penalties, fees and interest as required by state law - for over one and one half years! And after tons of notices! And when i sent my written complaint and warning to failed phony senior pastor don wilson and his incompetent legal staffers so that this would not happen to other church members, including pdf copies of the exact court - level document: a sworn, notarized, witnessed bank of america affidavit proving maldonado's bad - nsf check, along with notice that he had never made the check good as required by law - what did these phony fraudster christian leaders, these delusional men of god do? - aaaabsolutely nothing. I received no response. No apology that they were sorry that i was screwed over financially due to a fraudster with an ad on their church website. No offer to take his ccvonline.com ad down and call him in for an explanation or meeting to explain his side of the story to me the victim as is required in the bible. No offer to call the police. No offer to make him provide restitution as is required in the bible. Nothing. Nada. Zero. And this made me absolutely sick not just for myself, but even more for the image and reputation of christianity. What if this had happened to a non - believer, a non - christian. They would never become a believer. They would likely never set foot in a church again. I thought that if this, ccv, one of the largest christian churchs in the nation, which claims that it is on the cutting - edge of christian leadership in the church today, we are in deep do0 - doo. So - shame, shame, shame on these selfish, fraudster, phony "christian" leaders. They are no such thing. I guess they were all too busy counting all the tithing and donations and moving it all into some offshore account so they be able to live in absolute luxury after the whole ccv - racket thing crashes. Vile. Makes me want to puke. If you are a christian you likely know that christ, the main god - human - face in christianity, held a special contempt for these exact types of religious people - the phony, fake, two - faced religious leaders of his time - and in fact he called them various things from "brood of vipers" to "whitewashed tombs" - indicating the sickening stench of their phoney pious - perfect outside yet corrupt, rotten, filthy and maggot infested inside - refering of course not to their colons but their hearts. Jesus rebuke of phony, hypocritical folks is the one place in all of the new testament where jesus gets really, really angry. Anger not at prostitutes, or homosexuals, or nancy pelosi, or liberals, or peacemakers like jimmy carter, or other religions, but serious anger for the corrupt, phony two - faced, religious - church leaders of his day and inside the temples of his own religion. Yes, dr. Don wilson - jesus had a story tailored just for you! He knew you were coming to screw over the body and he wanted to say something about you 2000+ years in advance. So now what? If this story and this failed church leadership sickens you as it has me, you know what to do. Tell a friend that as much as you like ccv's fancy kitchen and gourmet food, expensive flagstone patios and fountains and firelacces, great kids programs, unique hilltop cross, and luxurious setting - your soul is far more important than being seen inside some pretty yet morally bankrupt campus. Vote these evil - dooers out with your feet and head over to another church. Please tell a friend what you now know about ccv.
The CCV board needs to investigate this fiasco and fire the appropriate people including senior pastor Dr Don Wilson if he has any responsibility here, especially if he ignored numerous urgent warning letters received for more than a year regarding fraud going down by one bad member on the rest of the body. If Don does not resign then this church has no credibility as a Chrisitian Church and hopefully God will see to it that it is shut down.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Strangely, I read these unusual statements, comments... got curious and really wanted to see all of this mis management myself. Returned to church! Loved it, helped with Children’s (well run) ministries and when in Colorado attend frequently.
By my calculation God has grown this Church exponentially. Gods will, not Mans. Covid aside. This Church meets the need of many.

Contact the Az Bar Association and the Office of the Arizona Attorney General, Fraud Division and file your complaint against this attorney as well as the Better Business Bureau. Too bad someone didn't offer you advice despite the fact it was done through the church.
God says prove me, I owe it to myself to be sure those I look to as as sanctioned by god to guide me are upright . I never take the word of a leader without investigating and ballancing that with what I believe.. CCV has been a great church for fellowship, my lack of membership, though a dedicated atendee is that I will attend any church where god is present.
Though I offer prayer that this matter may be resolved and that the grieved receive compensation in some way from the lord, I do not see the responsability to befall pastor Don or the church.. I do not see them worthy of hateful speech.
God bless and if I or anyone is in need of legal help I will hopefully find a honorable one who is not dishonest.. May take a lot of searching.

First of all, CCV has never offered paid advertising anywhere on any of its websites. They used to have a FREE community section where anyone could buy, sell, or offer services. They made it very clear they did not endorse any company or guarantee anything in this section. I have sold products and hired numerous individuals over the years from the CCV online community section and was never under any kind of delusion that these people were guaranteed saints just because of where I found them.
For over 30 years Don Wilson and the elders and leadership he's surrounded himself with has proven to be above reproach. Your attempt to defame the righteous and Godly leadership of this church because of your personal bad experience with someone offering services on the church's free community section is sickening and deplorable. The fact this great community resource has now been eliminated is obviously do to bitter, vengeful people like you. Good riddance.
Every man is presummed 'innocent' until proven 'guilty'...or so we have been told our entire lives! The truth is; we are guilty until we are proven innocent...that is the reality! All a person has to do is make an accusation, then it's all about defending and trying desperately to exonerate yourself. Perhaps there is a reason Pastor Don Wilson has not responded or "answered nothing"! CCV is a wonderful Holy Church that has helped countless amounts of people in need...including myself! Well people, time for an update to the above tragedy: its now 2/13/2011, nearly three months after I was forced to post the story of my victimization by gangbanger murderer felon and financial bad-check fraudster Maldonado AND CCV, above, and EVEN AFTER MY POST WENT VIRAL, I still have not received a single letter, email, contact, apology, offer of Christian mediation, offer of prayer, or offer of return of my stolen money, expenses and loss, now over $100K, from ANYONE at CCV even after multiple emails to numerous CCV pastors including Dr Wilson, after nearly two years. So if you're still on your DELUSIONAL Christian-CCV high-horse, STILL blindly defending CCV, still eagerly and ignorantly cheering on CCV even after their absolutely horriffic, unloving and un-CHRISTIAN FAILURE to do anything here, perhaps thinking it was an oversight or a mistake or something else to tell yourself so you wouldnt have to think or believe or face the sad truth about CCV's failed leadership, your bubble has now been popped, forever. Just joined in here and after reading the original post and several of the same authors original posts elsewhere about Maldonado I noticed that Maldonad and all of his online personas/family members never once denied any of the core accusations: 1) that he wrote a NSF check to the individual, 2) that he failed to ever make-good cash or cashiers check payment for his bad check to this person after 1.5 years as required by CA bad check statute CC 1719 or even AZ law, 3) that he was investigated by the AZ Bar, 4) that he did not in fact have the liability insurance in May 2009 when he claimed on website www.azbar.org that he did, and 5) that he is a convicted felon for murder among other crimes for a gangbanging event as a youth in La Habra, CA in which he was sentenced for nine years +_ in youth prison as a result. Instead he has called this person vile names, made inappropriate personal attacks about irrevelent personal traits, and made crude bigoted remarks not at all in line with his professed CCV Christianity or as a lawyer aka, an officer of the court.

AZ lawyer Edward Maldonado is clearly a felon bad-check writer but hes also a convicted felon murderer for a 1991 drive-by gang shooting he particiapted in with several other gangster friends in La Habra, CA when he was a minor. Co-defendants Emilia Ceniceros, 36, Edward Jose Maldonado, 37, and Gabriella Maldonado, 36, all of La Habra, were convicted Oct. 8, 1991, of MURDER, assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, first-degree robbery and shooting at an unoccupied vehicle. They were not making any payments and were in default and forclosure in early 2009, perhaps even 2008. Brenda, youre showing your ignorance again. The bad check statute does NOT require a court judgement to be proven or valid. A check not paid when FIRST presented as indicated or stamped by the issuing bank with NSF on it that has not been repaid by cashiers check or cash ONLY with fees by the maker within 15 days is a crime automatically, either a misdemeanor or a felony crime - depending on the amount of the fraud and intent of the maker in making it good. (I'll let you in on a little secret here: Not making a bad check good or offering to make payents after 1.5 years looks REAL, REAL bad for the check issuer - you know, like the issuer had bad intentions all along, like a felony). But you seemed to have missed your own point that you apparently went to the Bible or Google to lookup after your first critical post. So YES, this is a church problem that should be resolved in the church first, with the courts used only as a last resort. great or even good leadership by definition is proactive not reactive and especially not inactive as this case proves. good leadership at ccv would have succesfully resolved this fraud in a fair and decisive manner, erring on the side of the victim not the victimizer, if anything was uncertain, the moment it was brought to their attention. because this did not happen good leadership does not exist inside ccv church. end of story.
Actually the fraud IS between CCV-Maldonado and the victim. Even if CCV posts a disclaimer on its website that it is not responsible for fraud that might occur with its advertisers it is not shielded from legal liability. Just imagine if you robbed a bank and placed a little sign on the end of your gun as you pointed it at the teller and it read that you (the robber) are not liable for loss of property or life while in the bank - LOL. That little sign means nothing.
