Had a super speeder which I had paid due to my own ignorance, received a suspended license as result contacted CDL told them about the ticket and the payment, they said no problem did not comment on the ticket being paid they waited for me to sign everything then a week later told me they can't do anything with no proof or documents and told me it was due to the paid ticket hoverer I had asked them about it beforehand and they said it didn't matter, and that it would not affect me. THEY ARE NOT LAWYERS SO CAN'T LEGALLY GIVE ADVICE YET THEY GIVE LEGAL ADVICE AND PRETENDED THEY WERE QUALIFIED. DONT TRUST THESE LIARS
Recommendation: not recommended plus they aren't lawyers they are a third party its cheaper and faster for you to find an attorney yourself.
Formal Complaint Against CDL Consultants – Request for Refund of Wrongfully Withheld Funds
I am submitting this complaint regarding my experience with CDL Consultants, as I believe the company engaged in unfair and deceptive business practices.
On Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximately 4:31 p.m. EST, I paid $3,000 to CDL Consultants after speaking with their representative, John. During that conversation, I was advised that my legal matter would be handled for a total cost of $5,000.
However, on Monday, May 18, 2026, at approximately 1:18 p.m., John contacted me and informed me that the attorneys would not take my case for the agreed-upon amount and that the total cost had increased to $7,000.
Because the company changed the terms of the agreement after accepting my payment, I immediately informed John that I would not proceed and requested a full refund of my $3,000 payment.
Instead of honoring my request, CDL Consultants withheld $1,000 and refunded only $2,000. Their refund manager, Gaby Lopez, advised me that the company retained $1,000 because they had allegedly spent time attempting to locate an attorney for me between Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon.
I respectfully disagree with this justification.
CDL Consultants did not provide me with:
An attorney.
Legal representation.
Legal advice.
A completed service.
Any tangible product.
The only result of our interaction was that I was informed the original quoted price would no longer be honored and that I would have to pay an additional $2,000 to proceed. At that point, I declined their services because the agreement had materially changed.
I do not believe it is reasonable or ethical for a company to retain $1,000 under these circumstances, particularly when:
The company was unable or unwilling to honor the original quoted price.
No attorney-client relationship was established.
No legal services were performed on my behalf.
No work product was provided to me.
The company ultimately could not deliver the service I agreed to purchase.
To make matters worse, it took more than 30 days for CDL Consultants to process even the partial refund, despite my prompt request immediately after learning of the price increase.
As a consumer, I believe businesses should not be permitted to:
Accept payment based on one price.
Increase the cost after receiving payment.
Refuse to provide the agreed-upon service.
Retain a substantial portion of a customer's money without delivering the promised service.
I have documentation supporting my complaint, including:
My payment confirmation.
Email correspondence requesting a refund.
Documentation of the timeline.
Records showing the change in pricing after payment.
Documentation regarding the partial refund.
I respectfully request that CDL Consultants refund the remaining $1,000 they withheld. I also ask that this complaint be made part of the company's record so that other consumers are aware of my experience when making decisions about doing business with them.
I appreciate your time and consideration of this matter.
