Caring Transitions review: Avoid caring transitions - unprofessional and costly!

I hired Caring Transitions, led by Wendy in Colorado Springs, to manage an estate sale, and the experience was deeply disappointing from beginning to end. Communication was inconsistent and often nonexistent; weeks would pass without updates, and I had to repeatedly initiate contact just to get basic information. I did not receive any summary of results until a full month after the sale, and what I learned at that point was shocking.

A nearly new suede electric reclining couch with a matching reclining chair sold for $7. A Mission Oak office desk with three matching cabinets — including one with lead glass doors — sold for $3. These are not typos. Seven dollars. Three dollars. No minimum prices or reserves were set on any items, and at no point was I advised that pieces of this value could be sold for essentially nothing.

When I questioned how a reclining set in excellent condition could possibly sell for $7, Wendy’s explanation was that she “even tried Facebook Marketplace but had no bites.” I asked to see the Marketplace listing — a reasonable request — and since then, I have received no response, no listing, and no further explanation.

The lack of communication, the lack of oversight, and the lack of basic professional judgment resulted in significant losses on high‑value items. I trusted Caring Transitions to manage this sale responsibly, and instead I was left with silence, excuses, and outcomes that are frankly unbelievable. I cannot recommend Caring Transitions to anyone seeking transparent, competent, or professionally managed estate sale services.
