I have a drug plan with Canada Life and I want to use it. As soon as I got the necessary information from the carrier, I called Shoppers (on Danforth) to confirm if I had the necessary information without a card. I had the plan number and the identification number. I was informed everything was in good. Since when I went to fill my scrips, the pharmacist, Pharmacist SDM500 (SDM) Phillip, says I am missing information. He wants "the pay-direct drug card" whatever that is.
Then on Sunday I call again, this time the pharmacist says I need issue number and carrier id. This morning I get the above numbers from Canada Life. Guess what 01 is primary and 11 is Canada Life. Am I to believe that a pharmacist at Shoppers Drug Mart does have this information. What kind of training do you give? My Canada Life customer support was surprised Shoppers Drug Mart, a pharmacy with years not minutes of experience, did not have this information. Had they entered the wrong number, what is the worst that would happen? The application would be rejected, right?
Would I be upset? No. I am now 10 days without meds because I have a drug plan and I want to use it. The pharmacist in my opinion mistreated me. Especially when he knew my outburst in the store was the result of not having taken meds for a mental illness. And this is Mental Health awareness month. Shoppers Drug Mart should be ashamed.
Desired outcome: I want a written apology from Philip, the pharmacist who in my opinion mistreated me.
