My 06 Jetta had the check oil and check engine lights on, while my car had full fluid levels. I explained that I would be driving several hundred kilometers in the next day and needed to know my car was safe.
The mechanics as the VW dealership in Kamloops did not see my oil light on and therefore ran know tests (which I was unaware of). Instead only check my engine light and did not have the CD to remove the light ( which I believed was the situation for both lights).
I was told they did not see my oil light on and they were uncertain as to why my lights were on, it was some sensor problem. Which I took as a dashboard light problem. I asked specifically if my engine is alright and that oil is getting to my engine. I will be needing to driver to Kelowna and then to Vancouver tomorrow. I was assured that in Vancouver a dealership would have a CD to remove the light and that my car was fine.
Less then 24 hours later my enginee seized and the car was on fire while I was in a mountain pass 70 KM from a town or city.
And since then the Kamloops VW dealership have told my lies and excuses as to how it must have been my fault and I should have noticed the problem.
