SCAM alert.. Pet owners and those looking for a pet beware..
posted on hoobly.com [protected] Great Dane puppies.. says all their puppies are reserved.. and refers you to contact Maria Awrey @ [protected]@gmail.com [protected] Ferguson Rd, Dallas, TX 75228 ..Lists herself as Maria's Great Danes.. furnished pics of the litter and extensive details of the parents as well as pics.. her references [protected]@gmail.com and [protected]@ymail.com also as scam participants.. money sent after signed contract was received.. flight arrangements given.. puppy was never sent.. will not return correspondence.. has been turned over to the authorities, reported to the AKC, and [protected]@ipata.org
Special place in hell for those crooks who use a dog to scam people.. I may never see my money again.. but I want to do what I can to make sure this THIEF doesn't get many more opportunites! Please join me in blowing up her phone and feel free to email any and all of them regarding their crime.. but at the very least.. PLEASE SHARE THIS INFORMATION TO HELP PREVENT HER FROM GETTING THE OPPORTUNITY TO SCAM ANYONE ELSE!

If you are considering purchasing a puppy from Karen please read this. I had a horrible experience dealing with this woman and would not want someone else to go through what I did. I found Karen on Puppyfind.com. My boyfriend and I visited her at her home which she runs her kennel out of to visit the puppy we found on the site. She kept the litter outside which did bother me, but the puppies seemed healthy and unaffected by the living situation. We decided that we wanted the puppy and gave the $300 puppy deposit to hold him. Karen gave us the puppy at 6 weeks old. The entire car ride home the puppy was very lethargic. He slept the whole ride home which was about 2.5 hours. We figured he was just tired..when we got home he was still acting
strange and not puppy like at all. The next day he did not improve and couldn't keep down any food. We immediately took the puppy to the vet. The vet and her tech wer extremely concerned with the puppies health. His tummy was extremely bloated and he was eagerly dehydrated. They started him on an IV of fluids right away. He had a horrible case of parasites that took us 3the rounds

She was sympathetic at first. She told me she called everyone else who purchased puppies and no one had any troubles. Then as time passed on she would give me very short answers and it took her longer and longer to get in contact with me. When she told me she would not be reimbursing us I expressed my disappointment with her but there really isn't much else I could do. I do understand the way I choose to purchase my first great dane probably wasn't the smartest or best way to go about it, but I have learned my lesson. It is crazy, my first puppy I got from an animal shelter...it was healthy and all the vet stuff was done in house with them at a fraction of the cost you'd normally pay. Ill stick to the rescues from now on.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
We never had any issue with Karen and we have bought 3 great danes from her. Always called us back and she has always been great to me and my family. Great people and i have recommended her to several friends.
Karen called me after reading my post about my two mantle Danes from Liberty Great Danes out of Kentucky having demodex mange and entropion eye and not being able to breed. She told me she had a blue girl shed be willing to exchange for two of her puppies later. A week she led me on saying she would bring this puppy to us. All of a sudden she e mailed me backing out. No rhyme or reason why. When I confronted her learning that the breeders and their friends contacted hr after seeing our post on our facebook to bad mouth me she got very rude and condescending saying she doesn't want to be part of any drama. Why did you call me in the first place!
does anyone know if this is still happening? We are looking for a Great Dane Puppy and just happened across the Great Dane puppies site - been in contact via email - so far all seems straight up... don't want to be scammed
This just happened to me regarding this woman and Great Dane puppies. We paid her via a money gram and when we went to the airport there was no dog. When I did my initial search of this Maria Teresa Awrey I only had part of her name which was Teresa Awrey not Maria and so this site did not come up. We contacted money gram and the police and filled out a report. So sad that there are sick disgusting people in the world that would scam innocent people that are just looking for a puppy. I hope everyone will see this post before they send her money.
They almost got me. Thank god I did a little research and I thank you to whom posted this you saved me $700.00 and a broken heart. I agree may they rot in hell.. karma is a b and they will all get what's coming to them!
Thank you to those who posted these messages. I am currently in contact with this person Maria and our contact seems to have started in the same manner as these stories. Contacted someone in regards to Mastiff pups from HOOBLY.com, but when they responded are all reserved, " But hey contact his person Maria, they just had a litter" is the response I got. Person I originally contacted was in Severn, MD. Come to find out, yup Marias in Texas...Im suspicious when it comes to finances and it sounds to me that I was be headed down the same road. But thank you in advance for most likely confirming my suspicions. Some things are just to good to be true since the puppies they are asking form the original post to Maria are well below the norm. By the way the original post i started with, well it was just updated, they still have puppies available...Thank you again and I hope this info reaches more people.
Sadly, this has just happened to me regarding an English Mastiff puppy. Same details except Maria's Mastiff's.
