Re: Royal Court Hotel Tamworth Rd, Coventry CV7 8JG
09/11/2023

Dear Sir/Madam,

In September 17th 2023 I checked in to the Royal Court Hotel in Coventry, When I entered the room at night, I found it filthy and disgusting the bathroom dirty and unhygienic, carpet was horrendous, no phone and no heating it was around 9pm or later.

I went downstairs as there was no phone in the room to speak with the reception. Additionally, from 10 pm I heard constant banging noise it was obvious a workman was working refurbishing/demolishing (constant banging). It was a second-floor room I cannot remember the room number.

I had to go downstairs and talk to them as there was no phone in the room, I was told we have nothing else to move you to it was past midnight, and when I said refund my money, I want to go elsewhere someone came and spoke to me and said we have one room but it is booked for other people that they are coming in next day or two.

That person got a key for room 333, we went upstairs to see the room by then it was very late and I was tired. The room lighting was dim he showed me the bathroom and I said OK. Later on, I realised it was very cold and raining outside the window wasn't closing it was open, the radiator wasn't working I phoned the reception and told them.

I was told someone going bring you a heater, I waited two hours nobody came in and I rang again and was told they do not have a heater, I told them so, why did you not call me to let me know I am waiting for two hours.

They female was unprofessional and didn’t care, I then tried to go to bed and felt something is not right in the bed I started itching and irritated, I rang again and asked for someone to come but to my astonishment they said they cannot come as there are nobody in the office.

I had to use the towels to put on the bed and on the pillow to try to sleep which I couldn't. I had a sleepless night and I thought they will change the beds tomorrow and maybe it was the bed sheets, but the next evening I noticed nobody cleaned my room and the towels were on the floor as I left them in the morning.

So, by then I realised, they were un-professional I decided to go on the same floor to try to get some new towels to lay them on the bed and try to sleep if I can, it was a nightmare all over again. The first thing in the morning of 19th I checked out. However, when I arrived at my destination/home I immediately put everything in the wash including my handbag. A few days later I was still itching and then realised I have either bedbug or fleas from that dreaded room 333.

So, I suffered ever since and still do it is a bed bug and the fleas both from that dirty place. I had to throw away my expensive bed the whole lot the beddings and many of my cloths, from one room I had to move to sleep on the floor in my sitting room. My whole flat is now affected by it.

My skin is destroyed by the bites of these pests, my blood is sucked out of my body, I cry at night time as I am bitten my life is upside down. I cannot go anywhere; I now think my car is also covered by it. On the 17th October four weeks after I was there, I rang them/Royal court hotel, someone with the name Hopely spoke to me he said he is the night porter and I told him about the bedbugs and what a nightmare I have because of what I carried from their hotel room 333.

A few days later I called the Coventry council and complained about the state of this hotel. It cost me a lot of money throwing my bed, beddings my floor mats, trousers, jumpers, towels as well as many cloths that belonged to my son and husband. I now live like a tramp in my own flat as everything is in the bin liners. Ever since I have to wash the cloths and sheets I wear and use twice a day; I wear wet cloths I do not have a dryer to dry them before I could wear them.

My flat need specialist help which is going to cost a lot of money too to control the pests that infested my whole flat as a result of staying in the Royal Court Hotel. My blood sucked out of my body and I have a constant dizziness. I have to be compensated for what I lost as well as my deteriorating health and the professional pest control service which I need desperately.

It is unprofessional knowingly this room and perhaps other rooms in the same hotel is booked for unsuspecting people like myself. I would like to hear from you soon so I can get on with brining the professional pest’s control to help me out of this vile situation.

Yours sincerely,

Maxine
