Disappointing Experience with Booktopia: Poor Customer Service and Inability to Purchase University Books
Booktopia is a website where you can buy books online. Some people might think it's great to be able to buy everything online, but for me, it's not an option. Unfortunately, Booktopia has made it impossible for me to buy my university books anymore. I really wish the Co-op bookstore would come back because at least I could physically go into the store and buy my books. The customer service at Booktopia is a joke. The whole thing is just a mess.

So, I wanted to share my thoughts about Booktopia. I sent them a review about a book on 6/8/17 and got a message from them on 7/8/17 saying they received it. But, it's been a while now, and my review still hasn't been posted on their website as of 21/08/17. I did ask them about it a week ago, and they said someone was away but would be back soon. I'm not sure if I'm just being too eager or if Booktopia is slacking off a bit. Either way, I hope they get on it soon!

I gotta say, I was pretty bummed out when I couldn't download the book I bought in epub format from Booktopia. I mean, they advertise that their books are downloadable, right? So, I decided to give Booktopia a try and ordered some books that were listed as 'In Stock'. According to their website, I should have received my order within 2-3 business days. However, the very next day, I received an email from them saying that one of the titles I ordered will only be available in their Warehouse in 15 days! I was quite disappointed to learn that the company was actually sourcing their stock from overseas suppliers, despite pretending to be an Australian company.
I tried to reach out to their customer service team to get some clarification on the matter, but unfortunately, I received zero follow-up replies to my enquiries. It was quite frustrating to be left in the dark like that.
Overall, I would say that my experience with Booktopia was truly hopeless. I would advise anyone looking to purchase books online to use another company instead.
Booktopia's Poor Customer Service and Failed Ebook Download Experience
I bought an Ebook from Booktopia for $27.95 using my credit card. Unfortunately, the book never downloaded and I was left without my purchase. I reached out to customer service for assistance, but I was given the run-around. The customer service representative made it seem like I didn't know what I was doing and suggested that I download the book on a Mac or IOS device, even though I had clearly stated that I was using Microsoft and Android. Despite exchanging a few messages, I was unable to resolve the issue and ultimately gave up. I hope that karma will take care of the situation. I don't plan on using this site again in the future.
