I get it, the site is an outlet for amateur writers to get their story out. I managed to read one story. I swear it is written by a 15 yrs old girl obsessed with Twilight and has a “D” in English. The story was broken into 43 chapters (that is putting it loosely, a hooker isn’t even this loose). It was more like 43 random thoughts going through a teenagers’ head. Each “chapter” requires so many coins to unlock to read it. Thing is, I started this book not knowing the number of chapters , I did find later where it tells how many “chapters” a story has. Each section has a different coin amount to unlock. This chapter could be 10 coins, this one 22. There was no rhyme or reason behind it. Had the site bothered to say to book as 43 chapters and will cost you 631 coins to read the entire story that would make a huge difference! Or just make each section a set coin value then one could do the math themselves. Then again the teenage girls reading these stories, raving about how they are the best book they’ve ever read probably can’t do the math to figure it out. There is an option to do little tasks - login, read 30 mins, etc to earn coins or you can purchase them. There is also the option of waiting a day or two or a week for the next chapter to open for free. Honestly the site could be improved a lot! If you like to read raw amateur fan fiction (I’m
Not talking 50 shades, she at least proof read and had a copywriter) then you may actually like this site. Otherwise stick with amazon & a kindle.

I liked this app at first and the story I was reading, plus when I bought coins in only took about 30 minutes to process and add to my account. But that’s about all that’s good about this app. Dreame has a ton of glitches, more then I’ve ever seen on an app especially since I’ve seen ads for this app everywhere on Facebook. Whenever I would close out of the app and come back to it later to continue reading a story, it would say I’m on the last chapter I had finished but the actual paragraphs would be from a way earlier chapter. Ex: it would say I’m on chapter 25 (even when I clicked on a different chapter and came back) but, the actual words would be from like chapter 5. Sometimes I would pay for a chapter and the same things would happen and it would say chapter 25 but I was really re paying for a earlier chapter that I had already bought, but when I would go to the next chapter it would actually be the real next chapter so I was lost pretty much the whole time unless I kept the app open when I didn’t want to use it so it wouldn’t glitch. I know this is a wide problem because lots of people were complaining about it in the comments. I’m very disappointed in how this app runs, especially because you have to PAY to read the chapters of any of the good stories. Also most of the 5 star ratings on here are fake so you can earn more coins to read chapters. You’re better off sticking to Wattpad, I would rather watch ads to read chapters or at least only have to pay a few bucks a month for no ads.

I started reading Once Rejected, Twice Desired and it’s sequel Jades Hearts after finding a Facebook ad. The writing was good and had me hooked. There is a need for editing, but not to the point where it ruins the experience or is understandable. Also the author comments on her chapters which is fun to see.
The issue that I have with this app is that one book costs $25 if you would like to unlock every chapter and read the book at once. Otherwise you would probably have to wait about a year to finish the book because you can unlock on chapter every two days for free and the time does not decrease if you pay for one chapter (ie you buy a chapter that will unlock in 1 day, you still have to wait the three days for the next chapter and five days for the one after). I don’t even spend $25 on a hard copy book that has been thoroughly edited and made best seller lists. Lastly, the app charged me an extra $10 for coins I did not buy. There is no clear contact section on the app for complaints and the app itself is often glitchy. Many people complaining about not getting coins or right chapters unless they reload the book.
Each chapter costs between 13 and 31 coins (usually around 21-22). 300 coins is $2.99 and you can get some “discounts” for purchasing more coins at once or unlocking more chapters at a time. If you’re willing to spend $25 on a book or wait over 6 months to unlock every chapter and don’t mind grammatical errors or lack of editing, go for it because the writing is good. Otherwise, don’t buy the app because you’ll get hooked.

I would give you 5 stars but no! I love the app. It has amazing books, chances to buy coins using points or actual money, you get coins by doing daily reading which is awesome! This app deserves 5 stars but there is 1 MAJOR problem and that problem is that ALL OF MY BOOKS ARE GONE FROM MY LIBRARY! I use to have to refresh my library 5 or 6 times (it was annoying but I was able to deal with it) to get my books to come back and not just the comics but now that doesn’t even work. When I open the app now the only thing in my library are comics (comics that I never added to my library or clicked on except for maybe 3 of them) I add the same book to my library every single day to read and every time I open this god forsaken app the book is gone along with any other book besides the comics! The constant refreshing my library does not work anymore. I had years worth of books in my library and now they all have just RANDOMLY FREAKING DISAPPEARED! I love this app but if this PROBLEM do not change then there is ZERO sense in me keeping this app anymore and I hope the author’s take their work else where because you removing books out of people’s library’s will turn people away from peoples books and your app and the author’s deserve better then that as well as us readers, especially books we are paying to read! Also stop letting people abandon books why should we have to pay for a half written book that will never be finished if an author starts the book and has published it on the app then they should have a duty to finish the book even if it takes a year to finish!

This is such a great app especially when your into wolves and stuff it’s amazing but as you can see in my title there is a problem with how many chapters I get to read. No offense but the app could have use for other things in order to make money because every time I go to read a chapter I always have to pay with coins. The problem is you can get bonuses but the prices for the chapters are at least 18 coins and THATS ONLY FOR ONE CHAPTER. It gives me only 8 minutes of enjoyment and I’m sorry for being a Karan but it kinda annoy me when I have to pay with coins cause I just got the app for enjoyment and instead of using coins for only 1 chapter you could have the user pay 18 coins for 3 chapters and that gives the Writer and the Reader what they want. It also lets you keep the coin idea. Or you could have special parts locked by the coins where there is a special part as a choice if you want to read it and use the coins and gems like in episode. It really annoys me and some other people cause I have been going into comments and seeing that people have no coins. This annoys a lot of readers not just me so I hope you can do something else with the coin and help some readers finish the story. I mostly complain about this cause a story has around 164 chapters in a book and it’s upsetting that I have to wait. Also the free time limit. You give people more days as they get farther into the story and that’s only for one episode. I have a story that I am 12 chapters into and it says I have to wait 21 days and some hours until I can read that ONE CHAPTER. T-T I just wanna finish the story.

Look I’ll admit that there are some good stories on here. Those authors did an amazing job :)

The system of being able to read each chapter is ridiculous. This needs to be changed because each chapter is diffident costs and it’s impossible to get coins without buying. I don’t have money to buy coins nor am I going to use my money on that when I do get money.

Maybe do something more similar to WEBTOON. Where people can pay and get episodes ahead of time as the author completes them. This then helps the author and allows people to use their money on the things they really like. The other episodes should come out free or less coins like 5 each. This helps the people that can’t use money to pay for episodes but allows them to continue reading.

The more people thy read the books the better it is for those authors but if you keep this system up that makes getting coins difficult then you and the authors will lose people. People will stop reading the books and some might delete the app. I’ve considered doing that multiple times but I would really like to finish the book I’m on.

Also just an idea:
For the authors who’s first language isn’t English and they want the book to also be in English. You should offer translating services for them. Or what you could do is get people who want coins to read books to take the book of the author who’s first language is t English and have those people translate the book for them. That way the author can work with those people to have a more grammatically correct book and the other person who translated should be able to win some coins for translating a whole book!

I got this app for one book in particular that was previewed to me as an ad. I learned a couple things about this app. So one- once you run out of coins or such, they want you to pay for coins to “unlock” the chapters. You don’t have to- you could be like me and just wait for the free chapters to come out which takes like 2 days for each chapter. I just left the app alone and forgot about it for a few days at a time while doing so but that was already annoying. Another thing- I’ve always seen in the comments how even after you buy the chapters with your own money... you have to WAIT for the chapter to become available to you. They is ridiculous in itself, let me tell you! Then, the book that I gave a chance on, it had horrible grammar, a very fast paced, unrealistic setting that they wanted you to PAY for. They could do like wattpad and have only the top people with very low grammatical errors and such profit from what they’re doing now but it’s like they’re just doing it for every book... also, there are plenty of things that go wrong with buying and unlocking chapters and such. Not only that, I wish the book I was reading gave us warning about what kind of relationship was forming between the characters. This one changed from a mono to a poly which many readers did not react positively to the change because you spend your time and money on this book waiting for the chapter to release only to find out it includes a POV that does not suite you, all of a sudden. They could’ve put a disclaimer and such on the book’s homepage (and that goes for many other subjects as well) but I saw none such as so. In the end, I am left highly disappointed.

I was so excited when I saw this app. I got it right away without reading anything else about it. Imagine my shock when I’m getting into the story and when I turn to the next chapter I’m told to unlock it with some coins... Huh? This app must have been created for people that read for about 10 minutes a day. I saw the prices for the coins and I will admit, I almost fell for it. However, for the amount of spelling errors the story had I was NOT willing to cough up anywhere near $2.99-$39.99. I didn’t mind the spelling errors at first because I was under the impression that the story was free but this is where I have to draw the line. This is one of the app’s top stories too so I think it’s safe to assume that the other stories have the same editing problems. If the app developers are gonna make readers pay for this coin thing then the least they can do is get some editors for these stories. I was thinking about waiting for the entire book to be free but then I lost all hope. 71 days to get all the way to the final chapter? Pffft. I read about 4 books in one week. Do you know how fast I would lose interest in these books if I decided to wait for them to be free? It’s just not worth it. And I know, I know. It takes time out of these people’s lives to write these stories. To that I say, some folks are really willing to wait weeks to get the whole story for free so they won’t get any money from that. I’ll just stick to kindle unlimited and audible’s romance package. $16.94/month for a bunch of well edited and entirely UNLOCKED books. Really disappointed that I wasn’t satisfied with the app because I love what it stands for and the platform it offers for aspiring writers. Good luck to them.

I have spent the past 3 days reading and binging on the stories this app has to offer. The app is aesthetically pleasing while also (seeming to be) easy to use.

So why have I given it a 1 out of 5 stars? Because I have no idea how to get in contact with support over coins that I had purchased now being gone.

The thing I hate most about apps that require you to pay for services is not the fact of paying. These writers need to earn money somehow and that’s fine with me. When support is harder to get in contact with then it is to spend your money is what pisses me off.

For that, I wish apple could allow 0 out of 5 stars.

My money, that I willingly spent to spend on chapters, is missing and so are the coins I purchased. Granted, I was not signed into any account yet, so that’s on me. This should be an easy fix, right? But guess what? The support page has no way to actually contact support.

I have spent 2 hours trying to get a hold of someone to help resolve this situation but no luck.

For that reason alone this app is not getting a higher rating from me.

Update: Half of my coins have just suddenly reappeared, but only half of them. I know I used 35 coins to unlock a chapter, but 1056 minus 35 does not equal 586...

Second Update: I was able to see where those coins went, the problem is none of the chapters had prompts as to whether or not I wanted to use my coins to continue reading. That’s something that should be fixed. Since I’ve finally figured out where everything went I will be changing my review from 1 star to 3.

That whole debacle has soured me to the app but if it weren’t for that I would be giving this app 4 stars. I would be careful and suggest everyone sign in with an account to avoid this happening to you.

If I hadn’t become completely absorbed in the story I was reading before I found out about the coin system I would have deleted this immediately! I got about 1/3 into this story before a notification about coins popped up. It gives you 300 coins to read as a bonus and then you have to buy more if you want to read past what the 300 gives you. Mind you, it’s not much as it’s 30+ coins to unlock each chapter. So now I’m stuck in the middle of a 38 chapter book. Don’t get me wrong, you can read it for free if you don’t mind waiting several DAYS for EACH chapter to unlock. But the one thing I’ve discovered about a lot of readers is that once we start a good book, we don’t want to stop. So it’s either end up like me who has to wait 22 days before my last chapter is unlocked or you fork over the cash to be able to finish each book. And if you’re anything like me with a family and mortgage and bills to provide for, you find that you don’t want to pay money for it when you can go to fan fiction.net and read thousands of stories for FREE! Especially when the stories you are paying to read on this app may have amazing story lines but are littered with grammar mistakes and errors. There are some areas in the first book I started reading that had me completely confused as to who was saying what and what was going on. The book seriously needed someone to take the time and proof read it before putting the book up. Once I got past all that, I found myself immersed in the story and am now unable to delete the app until I’ve finished the last chapter. I assure you though that once I’ve read the last page I will be deleting this app from my phone. Unless there’s something a little more fair done to this coin system, I will happily be going back to fan fiction.net.

In the next update I would like to see new features added to the app/ as well as current features with bugs fixed, such as the following;

1.filters in the library, ways to mark a book as read and not see it in the library but still be able to find it in the future to read again, such as a “owned section” (books that are completed and have all chapters unlocked. I don’t like removing books from the library to keep it only having the books I’m currently reading.

2. Different task such as A.read x chapters or B.unlock x chapters. This makes it more motivating to read and unlock chapters and buy more coins.

3. The ability to “bookmark” your place in multiple books to make reader experience easier. I’ve noticed you can continue where you left off, but only on the book you last read. (Another option would be to be able to mark chapters as read, so that when you open the book you are put where you left off.

4. There to be a spot in the beginning of the book in the synopsis that has an estimated number of chapters the book will have once completed and/or estimated date of completion, as well as how frequently the author tends to update new chapters (personally I believe this would be best put near the (completed/on-going) notification.

Lastly 5. I have noticed the page where it indicates “chapters to be updated today/tomorrow” is always empty and not updated. Another option would be on the “library” page to have it display X out of X chapters read (allowing readers to quickly return to the last chapter they have read, as well as notifying readers of new updated chapters.

Additionally, I understand that the reader can see what chapters have been unlocked, thus knowing where they should of left off, but I as well as many others unlock the book in full.
I sincerely hope to see some of my ideas put into action and hope to hear back from someone as to if my ideas have been heard. Thank you

Three things:
1) Typos, grammatical errors and, very often, poor sentence structure. If you write or have any kind of decent grasp on the English language this reoccurring issue will drive you nuts. It’s very distracting from the flow of the story. Authors, please EDIT before submitting, or like have a friend glance at it for you first. Jeez.
2) Glitches, poor design, etc. The app doesn’t bookmark where you left off the way iBooks and the Kindle app do. It’s annoying, please fix it. Also, the first chapter of the book I’m reading keeps reappearing inserted as a later chapter. Ex: Chapter 19 is suddenly the entire first chapter. Then 20 continues the story on. How am I supposed to read a book with the random occasional skipped chapters? I have an updated newer iPhone, so the glitch probably isn’t on my end.
3) Coins. Oh, the coins...Cute idea. I get it and I know everyone is trying to earn a living. But with 300 coins being $2.99 it ought to cover one entire book and unlock ALL the chapters. If these were better written books on a technical level then they might be worth more. But with the above mentioned issues, they just aren’t. So, either get serious about presenting polished work that’s worth the cost your hoping people will pay, or make the chapters cost less in coinage. Seriously, asking more than $2.99 for this kind of haphazard quality is insulting and will turn people like me away.

I will be trying to finish the book I started, but I don’t know that I’ll continue to use the app afterward. However, I will end this review on a positive note. The book I’m reading, while not my normal genre, is good. Period. The girl can write. She just desperately needs an editor!

And, P.S. please use a better more specific word like “erotic” rather than “mature” for books that are 18+. Good Lord. I would’ve never chose the book I’m reading had I known. So, skimming those parts...but it’s a good story otherwise.

They charge way too much for the stories, if you get a new phone, what you download is not saved, so you have to purchase the chapters you received, downloaded and read for a second time. (Even if you are diligently downloading them!) If the author takes the book down, or leaves the app, you lose it, even if it was paid for…..(meaning it will cost you.) They should say that this is a book rental app.. Support does not get back to you, and if they do, they don’t help. Basically be prepared to throw tons of money at this app, while books disappear, go unfinished, and you receive no help. There are NO REFUNDS, even if the writer stops writing.. (you pay per chapter) Some books update quickly, some never do an update. Unless you are diligent, you won’t know until you have already paid and invested in the book. The app glitches all the time, and goes from not notifying you of an update, to updating you at every comment made.(by other customers) There is no in between. Depending on the layout you have selected, you may be able to see the authors notes, but that is not guaranteed. Some authors will add the second book to the first book, to ensure they don’t miss out on payments, instead of starting a new book and doing the work to get it to “pay to read”. Obviously this means that the app has so many issues that the authors don’t want to jump through the hoops, or just want their money.
When purchasing, you get free (extra) points, but those expire rather quickly, and of course they don’t get spent first, which means you need to spend all of your purchased points, so you can use up the bonus ones. Some books get marked as complete, but are not, so you can’t necessarily believe the marked book. Most chapters are small, maybe only 8-13 pages, with a book ranging anywhere between 40-112 chapters. Some authors are engaged with their readers, others do not. Basically it’s the Vegas for books.. sometimes you win, but most of the time, you will lose, and the dealer is always on top.

I tried purchasing 2500 coins and while it went through and charged my card via ITunes/Applepay no coins have been credited to my account.

I tried to leave feedback; however, every time I submitted my complaint I got a paradam error or something like that spelling wise I am unsure.

I came and read reviews and guess what I’m not the only one this has happened to...what is awful about this isn’t the annoying taking of consumer funds whilst failing to provide your promised services. No what’s awful is their insistence in responses that the error is fixed and people will be reimbursed when the dates on the responses prove that people are still experiencing the error.

Which means we are being lied to while the app developers have our funds...they know there is a problem with the purchasing portion of their app. Despite this knowledge and knowingly not having a solution to correct the set technical error, the app developers are continuing to run the app and have the store purchase option available. They know that people are still being charged and not being rewarded coins and yet they still continue to withhold vital information from the consumer and allow the store to stay open though they know that they cannot actually get coins this way.

While I am not as familiar with the app industry, I assume what ever company the app is associated with or developed with has a page with the ComplaintsBoard.com, which I will be complaining to. This is just a big misleading scam.

How many people are charged without being provided their coins and since they spent just a dollar and ninety nine cents don’t end up following through for a refund. They thinks it’s a glitch or the coins will load in a bit or oh well ill delete it it isn’t worth 2 dollars to complain ect... If there is a problem with payment the app should send a warning to all users so people don’t continue to buy coins, be charged, but never be rewarded a single coin. Any withholding of vital information during a transaction like this (an understood and common Sale and Purchase Agreement) creates a breach of contract and leaves the company open to a law suit since ultimately they are committing consumer fraud due to disclosure deficiencies.

Please let me know who I can contact to receive my coins AND a refund. Thank you.

I love the app and the books in it ( especially the blue moon series).

Their are some problems with the app though
1. Even on 18+ I still get words that are or may be inappropriate asterisked out ( bu).
This makes it frustrating to read as not all the words that does that are inappropriate
2. Grammatical errors: many books have lost of them and it is annoying
3. Spending over 200 coins on a book for them to give up halfway through and say it is completed or say it is “ On Hold” only after you bought 20 episodes when it said it had 48. I spent almost $200 on coins so far so it would be nice not to have to waste them.
4. Only 4 goals to complete to earn coins ( I buy a lot of my coins anyways but still)
5. Writing a comment and it not showing up and you do not know if it went through.
6. Only able to select 1 filter and their not being many to choose form and can’t separate completed and ongoing stories
7. Sometimes Discover can be hard to navigate especially when looking for a Particular type of story
8. Library!: my library mixes up ever time I exit out of the app. It basically looks like you did not start any book because the green “how far are you” line disappears and your books go out of the just read order. Also it would be nice to be able to have a place for already read, reading and not started reading books separated.
9. I turned on notifications for “ updates” only and I get the notifications for wait for free only.
10. I bought the wait for free instead of waiting yet I still “earn” the episode I bought
11.Having to go into a book and Download it the go out and to another random book then go out of that book to go back in the first book just to read the update
12. Not being able to link your app account to your online one so I can read the books I bought already and use the coins I paid for on more than just my phone.

I know I am being knitpickey with the app but I though I would tell everything so it could be fixed and made better. Numbers 1,3,5,6 and definitely 8 are my biggest concerns I would say for me especially 3,5 and 8. I hope this can make the app better for everyone. Even with these errors it is a great app though with great books to read. Make sure though if you are not patient to only read the completed books and to check out the comment in the book before you potentially waste your coin on someone who gives up halfway through

I had found a book on this app that I genuinely loved reading, after a LOT of searching because most of the books you’ll find on this app are werewolf romances, or the have been written in a completely illiterate manner, plenty of them have both issues. I ended up reading the entirety of the book I found, therefore unlocking the entire book. After I finished reading it I didn’t go on the app for a couple weeks, any time I thought about using it I remembered how tedious it would be to try to find another book that would be worth reading. I decided to go ahead and start reading the same book again, very excited about the fact that I would be able to read it through to the end without having to worry about waiting so long to read each individual chapter because of how long it takes to accumulate coins. I read about a fourth of the way into the book before coming to a chapter that claimed I need to spend X amount of coins to unlock it. I then checked the following chapters only to see that about 25 chapters give or take (I don’t remember exactly how many but I remember that it was a lot in comparison to the total amount of chapters the book had, around 1/3 of the book) had been re-locked. I was very upset when I saw this considering how much time I had already spent/wasted (in hindsight) waiting to accumulate coins to unlock each individual chapter before finally unlocking the entire book. I was so upset that I decided to email them about the issue I was facing with their app, assuming they would see there was a problem and compensate me for it in some way or just unlock the chapters again… something. As somebody who does not voice complaints, it was a big step for me to actually feel like something was necessary to bring to their attention. Their response was extremely unprofessional and rude. They did nothing more than imply that I was just too stupid to realize that I had never unlocked the *entire middle chunkof the book (obviously they did not outright call me an idiot, it was much more tactfully worded)…. They did nothing to help and responded with disrespect and invalidation. I deleted the app shortly after because it was very apparent that they truly could not care less about the experience of the readers (their customers that they profit off of) which really is a quality that I will not support. Do with this information what you will, but looking back I truly wish I never wasted my time on this undeserving app and the makers of it. Had they been professional enough to acknowledge that they messed up and fix the issue at hand I would still be using this app regardless of the countless flaws because I do miss the book, but I refuse to support an app with such disrespectful workers.

I have many things I want to address.

1. Unlocking Chapters: Some books are free and all chapters are unlocked, others, you either have to wait or have to pay. There’s this book I was always really excited to read called, “The Ryland Boys”...but unlocking an episode can cost up to 70 coins! Who has time to save up that much to unlock ONE chapter?! It’s ridiculous! People want to read more than one book at a time. Maybe you could make a limit of 20 coins?

The Wait-for-Free books are just unacceptable. When you get to the first Wait-For-Free chapter, you have to wait 30 minutes but the next one can take up to 3 days! The most I’ve waited for one chapter was 2 weeks! I unlocked two chapters RIGHT AFTER the 30 minute wait with my coins and had to wait 14 days! I suggest for the Wait-For-Free’s to unlock each chapter in a 24 hour span.

2. Bonuses: For the daily bonuses, the amount of coins alternate every other day. One day, you are able to earn up to 38, while others you can only earn 28. You can earn the bonuses by checking in each day(8/18), reading [protected])minutes, and inviting someone to download the app(5). As I mentioned before, some chapters can cost up to 70 coins so you would have to read for up to 135 minutes(2 and a half hours). Some people don’t have that amount of time to read and the bonuses we earn doesn’t add up to the amount a chapter costs. I recommend you alternate between 15 and 20 coins for daily logins(if you even have to alternate at all), 10 for reading for 15 minutes, 20 for reading for 30 minutes, and 10 for inviting someone. Also, when I invite multiple people to earn 40+ coins, it doesn’t work for me and I end up annoying people and I feel buying coins cost too much for too little.

3. Grammar/Punctuation: I understand that this app is for amateur writers and you want to keep their work THEIR work, but some books don’t make any sense and have MANY grammatical and punctuational errors. I hope that your editors will either fix or encourage our lovely writers to edit these mistakes and help them to make the story more understandable. Maybe leave comments on their work?

4. The New Challenge/Comments: There is this challenge where you can earn up to 300 bonuses/coins for commenting on a book. It doesn’t show where or how to comment and I have a lot of trouble finding it. I don’t know where the comment section is and I would like to find out, as I don’t earn enough bonuses/coins and don’t have the money to buy extra. I would also LOVE to encourage these writers to keep trying and how to make their story line, plot, and/or characters better. I love to help people out and would love to help them improve.

Dreame is filled with many, many stories. Some are “free” meaning you wait to read a chapter, typically is 1 chapter per day. So if the book is 90+ chapters, it’ll take you 3+ months to finish said book. Very few are fully free to read, meaning Dreame or Stary Writing has yet to give them a contract. Typically the stories I’ve seen to be fully free are unfinished.
Moving on to the pay-per-chapter books, they are priced ridiculously high. I say this as earning coins to unlock said chapters is painstakingly slow. The daily check in will reset each week, claiming you’ve only been on for 1 day after day 7, which means you’ll get a measly 4 coins and gradually build up to the day 7 of 30 coins. But after day 7 you’ll earn 4 coins the next day. This wouldn’t be an issue if chapters were not typically 15-35 (average) coins to unlock. It depends on the length of the chapter as to how many coins it costs to unlock. I’ve never finished a book on this app as I grow tired of trying to earn coins. Aside from logging in daily, the only other daily recurring coins you can earn are from reading. You used to get 5 coins for reading 5 minutes, 5 coins for reading 15 minutes, and 10 coins for reading 45 minutes. Unfortunately, today my option for reading for 5 minutes has disappeared so they may have removed that option now. This makes you read a bunch of stories because you don’t have coins to unlock a chapter but need to read to earn coins. So I’ve read the first few chapters of probably 50 books in the past few months of having this app. The first few chapters of every book are free. The problem is, I’ll never finish those books as I don’t have the patience to a chapter every few days of the book I want to read and waste 45+ minutes reading books I have no interest in just to earn coins.
Another downside to this app is the total lack of editing or proofreading done. If they have an editor, they should be fired. The countless grammatical errors, weird wording, and awkward descriptions, make it hard to read a ton of books on here. The thing is, these books are all pay to read so they’re under a contract with Dreame and yet there seems to be no editing in sight?
Aside from that, the app overall is extremely glitchy. Often removing my entire library of books and loses my place in them daily. I’ve even half of a book I unlocked because I gave up and came back to it a month or so later to finish, but the app claimed I didn’t unlock a single chapter! The app needs a major facelift.
To piggy back off of my previous points, Dreame also barely pays the authors a thing. I’ve heard/read from several authors that they make less than 10% of what Dreame charges for viewers to read. Imagine signing a book and the publisher says, “you will only make 10% in sales.” You’d laugh in their face! Now, couple that with the fact they provide 0 support when editing (to my knowledge) and allow careless mistakes to be published to the point where you can’t make heads or tails out of what you’re reading, and the fact their app is extremely glitchy, and if you were an author with a real publishing company you’d run the other way from them!
It would be different if they put money back into their app, but unfortunately I don’t see that. They have events where authors can compete but even that “prize money” is no where near their revenue.
Overall, this app is even more crooked than the others I’ve used. Galatea is way better now that they offer watching 10 ads/day for points. Not to mention it seems there are actual editors over there, even if they’re slow to upload, they at least read the chapters. I understand Dreame needs to make money, but this is downright unacceptable. There are other ways to make money besides paying the people, who make your app get views, figurative pennies.

I started reading a book that randomly appeared on my FB feed. The storyline was really well thought out so I downloaded the app to finish what I’d read so far. After a few more chapters, the book is blocked for each subsequent chapter until you pay coins to read it. Ok I bought coins. After that, I get to the end & the book isn’t finished. It’s being updated by the author. I look at the comments to see that she hasn’t updated it in over 3 months. So it won’t be finished. The spelling, grammar, & errors causes you to skim the words to make sense of them. So the app owners take no pride in quality. Within the app, there is no “home” to help navigate usage. To comment, you have to give the owners personal information & proprietary rights where they admit that all of your information will be seen & used by embedded 3rd party vendors. They have a good idea but poorly implemented it. I’m sad that I was sucked into it.

Nice for struggling artists, but as a consumer, I’m not going to pay more for a book because it’s pay-per-chapter, than I would buying it in a bookstore.

Got a ‘sign up reward’ that gave me ~5 chapters, then paid $9.99 straight up (what I would pay for a normal paperback romance in store) than couldn’t finish the book! Had 7 more chapters, would’ve kept reading to find out what happened even though I greatly disagreed with the rape-y path it took suddenly, but the ‘daily sign on’ bonuses abs ad bonuses and whatever never gave me enough coins, I wasn’t going to pay another $10 for the last few chapters of a book I’d already paid to read-I bet it’s how they get you hooked, you pay just enough for most of the novel, and when you’re to the end, you find you have to pay more, and then you might as well spend you’re leftover coins, but they don’t get you through the next book… book was fine, though not what was expected, the business practice is gross.

I don’t mind a sappy love story even if it is cliche. But it’s frustrating to find out although there are designated genres and ones labeled ‘erotica’ elsewhere that I did not click on that I thought I’d be good to go without having to worry about such content in the “werewolf” genre I decided to try out. Interesting story, (so so on grammar but, alright ‍♀️) bit was expecting a bit more pg 13 level of romance unless stated but I guess that even though there is a whole section designated to it that the apps 17+ either applies to all content or simply doesn’t label other genres that include it before you’re already invested before you realize. *sighjust disappointed how difficult it is to find decent content as far as wanting a good story that’s not TMI. (I’m married, it’s not like I don’t know what’s up, but I don’t wanna read/see that stuff) that’s on me, but something to notify readers before they’re bombarded with it would simply be nice.

I don’t know where my other review went, but I need to address this again. I’ve been Reading on this app for the past year now.I don’t understand what’s happening because it wasn’t like this before. A lot of the books that I have read, are no longer there? I paid for these books why are they not sold my library? Also, whenever I pick up a new book now, it isn’t in my library despite me knowing that I definitely put it in my library. I have to go on a book search to find the books I was reading especially the ones that I paid for. The bookmark isn’t working anymore I have to always scroll back to where I was. The settings on the app keep changing. I always have a night mode setting, preset, whenever I go in there, but now it’s not there anymore; you have to always reset it back into dark mode each time. I absolutely love this app, but if this is how it’s going to be then I might as well just stop now instead of putting in more money than I already have.

The books are essentially just everyday writers. They’re not edited and most are written simply. I got it excepting to at most need a few dollars to read an unpublished book. I was super super wrong. They give the first few chapters free and they allow you to earn bonus coins. This got me to chapter 10 of 77 chapter book. The chapters were short. So I knew I’d run out of said bonus points quickly. At chapter 10 I went in to purchase some actual coins. For 1000 coins it was $9.99 and you get 300 bonus coins so essentially 1300 coins. The problem is each chapter is 37-45 coins. So for $10 bucks I’m going to just be a little past half way on the book. This is a simple book and if I were to buy it in store new I could not imagine the whole book more then $9.99 and then it would be edited. I think I’d have to spend $20 to read just one small book, in this app. A book I could read all in one night. Honestly it’s just too much money. I’m curious on what happens but not $20 curious. They need to lower their cost a LOT.

I’m giving this 2 stars just because some of the authors on here are so amazing, but this app has a lot of issues and glitches.

There’s no way to do any organizing of your library (can we get sections for finished, currently reading, and want to read?) and it’s impossible to remove a book if you’re no longer reading it. It doesn’t even remove the book if it’s no longer on the app!

Whenever there are updates it always drops my current books down to the bottom of the list which wouldn’t be a big deal if you could, as previously mentioned, remove books you were no longer reading.

When the app updates it will sometimes lose your spot in book.

Last main issue is that there is no warning when free books are switching to pay-to-read (PTR). There are incredible authors that are worth this transition, but a solid percentage of books are poorly written (good story, but terrible grammar, spelling, basis errors) so switching it from free to PTR just ends up behind a waste of them. And then, you guessed it, it’s in your library forever

Like I said the books are great! My issues is that you have either buy coins to read the books (which are quite pricey) or wait until you have enough coins built up to read it. And the amount of coins jumps really high really fast. Like it will be 5 coins and then 10 coins and they next time you unlock the next chapter it’s almost 30 coins to read. And on top of it all getting coins isn’t exactly easy. In my opinion you guys need a different system. You could take some pointers from Wattpad. Now everything should be oh you have to pay all this money to able to read the book. Why not do it where some books, like from small authors or whatever, are free to read, but you have to deal with ads. I mean the no ads is great and what not, but not when prices in everyday life are rising. When they raise to a certain point not a lot of people are going to be buying your coins to read books. Like you guys don’t even have watching ads for coins and stuff. And this bonus stuff is a whole waste of time. Like we barely get an coins and the bonus are just stupid, but we get a lot of.

The storylines are halfway decent but the writers seem barely literate with multiple errors. Two glaring repeats are rouge and malady instead of rogue and milady. Rouge is the French word for red and a malady is an illness or ailment. Anyone who’s been through junior high should be able to do better than that. Another thing that points to their youth and inexperience as writers is the excessive dependence on sex. Sex, for all it’s a great thing, is not the tie that binds and the various authors don’t seem to understand that. They seem to be working in an interesting genre with some basic and consistent world rules but they definitely need more education and experience.

The platform has another problem besides content. It works off of “coins” and these can be bought or earned for in-app actions. I currently have 60 earned, unspent and unexpired coins but can’t use them to unlock chapters since the bonus counter in the book section shows only 4 bonus coins. I would not advise anyone to buy coins in pursuit of reading these tales if they aren’t visible and able to be used.

This kept coming up on my newsfeed on Facebook so I finally read the caption, which ended up being part of a story/book. I got into it and wanted to read more, despite the grammatical errors. I downloaded the app so I could finish the story. It appeared to be a free app which I would figure it would be with all the errors. I figure these are stories from new authors that didn’t have someone read and edit their story for errors . Well, it requires coins for each chapter. Which means you have to pay. I am now invested in this darn story so I will likely pay to read this book, but if you’re going to charge for books, please have them at least be professional. Not sure I’ll read any other books beyond this as it says in the reviews from many others these stories are poorly written with so many errors, it can be difficult to understand at times. At one point they meant to write he more than likely, but they wrote he more than like. They also use the wrong your when it should be you’re . Just things that should be corrected before a book or story is put out. Should be free to read these stories.

I am an avid reader and I have always enjoyed stories and movies about werewolves, lycans and of course vampires.
I downloaded the app and began reading. Literally one chapter before it required “coins” to read more. I purchased $20 to be able to read the whole book, never once thinking I wouldn’t be able to considering any bookstore in the world as well as apps such as Barnes and noble, nook, ect…that sell online reading wouldn’t cost nearly this amount.
The “story” I was reading literally charged and took all of my funds and not once gave me to option to use them to continue reading ( as one other story did). Your supposed to be able to choose if you want to use coins to continue reading and I’ve never felt so ripped off. Not even half way through the story and it took my entire $20 worth of coins and I never even knew it.
I would not recommend this app, not only are the vast majority of stories not worth paying for, but you will get ripped off in the worst way. $20 for 1/4 of a “story” = massive RIP-OFF
If I could give zero stars I would, I just hope that people can see this review and beware of this scam!

I love some of the stories that this app provides, but a lot of them have grammar mistakes and are hard to understand sometimes. I like that there is a concept of coins, but it is hard to read anymore stories once I run out and there aren’t anyways to get some for free. Maybe the maker of this app can bring in daily coins or ads every 4 chapters a reader reads so they can keep reading the rest of the story in peace without a notification asking for coins. I got to a point where the notification popped up, but I didn’t want to pay for coins and there was a tab that was going to let me read it for free. The tab wasn’t useful at all. It said that I can read the chapter in one week. I got frustrated by the thought of needing to wait a week just to read about 2 more chapters then getting the notification again to wait longer. Can the publisher fix/improve this please? I also visited the writers’ site that authors can publish their stories and I got more frustrated. Everything was in SPAINISH! I for one don’t read/understand it much! Why can’t it be in English?! This got even more frustrating! Please fix this! Even searching on the internet and selecting a story for a different site is faster and free!

I love the stories so far but I’d like to be able to finish a story instead of just starting a new one because I can’t/don’t want to pay for the next chapters. Maybe an ad instead? Great app, very organized but the fact that I have to put any money towards it to finish a story that has grammar mistakes, repetition of the story, and even two short paragraphed chapters is ridiculous. If they were well know authors I’d understand, but these stories (not all) seem to be thrown together. 2 day wait for 1 chapter? Is absurd! How is anyone ever going to finish 20+ chapters that way? And if you think about it they want all these books to be read yet if you’re waiting that amount of time you’re bound to forget what you started reading in the first place and give up. The fact you can comment on it is great but maybe to help the author the readers could be allowed to highlight certain errors or questionable spots and then have the choice to send them to the author? These books still need a lot of work and shouldn’t expect the readers to be paying for something that’s in progress of still being written, corrected, and modified. Great idea but could be better.

Galatea by Inkitt app is much, much better and far superior to Dreame.

Dreame is a really frustrating app. The stories are insanely expensive and the app seems to be designed to drive readers into buying coins with enormously expensive chapters or long wait to unlock times, IF that’s even an option for that story. Not all have it. There’s not many options to even earn coins either.

Coin purchases are really expensive for the few coins you get. There’s no unlimited yearly subscription option, like Galatea and many other reading apps do. It is a shame because I’d buy a yearly subscription.
Instead, the opposite has occurred. I don’t spend any real money on Dreame at all and I won’t as it’s not worth it’s value.

Another thing that is bad for Dreame is now I don’t read the stories here daily. I just collect daily login reward and maybe read 1 chapter every few days with collected free coins.

It’s a boring, lengthy process and thus very easy to lose interest in this app quickly. Especially when I have other apps like Galatea which I can read unlimited stories as long as I want.

It’s a shame that Dreame is so poor because the stories aren’t bad. But, I can’t justify the expense here when I’ve purchased yearly unlimited access on Galatea by Inkitt and a few other story apps with great stories similar to Dreame content.

Let preface this by stating this is still an ongoing case. Dreame claims to be working on it but this started over a month ago (this is March 2022) and still happening.

I used to love this ap but for the past month all they’ve done is fail. First the refreshed/reset the ap and made me re-pay for some of my chapters. When I submitted a ticket for it we went back and forth for over a week before they finally blamed it on the writer. Now my ap keeps refreshing/resetting every day, multiple times a day and they will do nothing about it. Can’t even get a refund for unused coins cause they said it’s not their problem to ask the payment service provider. Then said “besides there are many interesting stories on Dreame…” they went on to ask that I continue to support the up n coming writers, which I’d be happy to do if I could get through a story in peace. Today? I lost my entire library. Now I have to battle with them over that and whatever repercussions come from it.

They won’t even offer any sort of incentive for the trouble or to stay, either. I know this because something similar happened to me last year but not to this degree. They told me then, just as they are now, that other people were going through the same issues. It finally did get resolved but they just moved on with out any recognition of the fact that their glitch caused their customers distress in any way.
