The breeder insisted on delivering the puppy in the parking lot of a bar/restaurant, rather than where the puppies were kept. This was not told to us until the eve of our pick up. We were quite surprised (and a bit suspicious) of this odd request, yet, we continued with our plans to pick up the puppy the next day, as we were already emotionally invested for over three months, waiting for this pup to be born. Breeder demanded cash and did not supply a receipt. She was supposed to bring a blanket with the puppy that had the mother's scent, but she failed to do that. When I asked her what her return policy was or the policy regarding having a wellness check for the puppy within a certain time frame, she stated that there is no timeframe, because the puppies are non returnable. I asked how it would be handled if the puppy was ill. She responded that it wouldn't be, because her vet would have indicated so. Therefore, there was no reason to believe the puppy would be ill. When we took the puppy home, she had a very lose stool and smelled like horse manure, as if she was living in a barn. We were told the puppies were born and raised in the breeder's living room (in the house). I asked the breeder when the pup was bathed last, and she stated that she "hosed her down" that morning because she was "rolling in the mud". When we got home with the pup, I bathed her, and gray water ran off of her. She had very lose stool and we took her to the vet for a wellness check 4 days later. We were told that she was quite small and after the stool sample came back the next day, we learned she had coccidia and giardia. We purchased the necessary medication for the pup and our other Corgi. I messaged the breeder on Facebook messenger, which was our form of communication, to tell her of the pup's health condition. She thanked me for telling her and that was about it. I told her that for the money we spent, we expected a healthy pup and she asked if we wanted to return the pup. She would refund the amount we paid for her because she had a waiting list for that type of pup. I asked her why I would sell her back for the amount we spent when we just paid $200 in vet bills. We wanted her to pay the medical costs. She refused and said, "that's part of having puppies". Immediately after that, the breeder blocked me (for no apparent reason) from her Facebook page. Five days later after medication, our pup is still ill with diahrea, and now needs to go to the vet again and receive more meds. This breeder advertises as a home breeder, but it is clear she has these pups in a barn in unsuitable conditions. She clearly does not want anyone to see where she keeps the dogs, and for months, she had a dog delivering a litter every single week. All of the red flag signs of a mill.

Desired outcome: I want this woman's puppy farm to be investigated. It would be nice to be reimbursed for all of the money we continue to spend on vet bills, but primarily, I want to see her investigated so this does not happen to anyone else.

on september 16, i bought my lovely corgi puppy from her. i took him home, and 10 minutes after i got him home, he was [censored]ting blood on my kitchen floor. the next day, i took him to the vet where he tested positive for parvovirus, giardia, and coccidia. he was sick for roughly 2.5 months. i have continuously taken him to the vet, had him on antibiotics, special food, electrolytes, etc. and i’ve spent hundreds and hundreds in vet bills ($600+) trying to keep him alive and trying to get him healthy. luckily, my baby is still alive and i’m thankful. WE NEED TO SHUT HER DOWN. please feel free to email me at cqmbrie@gmail.com if you’d like to keep in touch about this situation. i’d like to come up with a plan to get her “business”/mill shut down. thank you.

Update: as of 1/1/24 puppy barn burned to the ground. 30 puppies dead but breeding dogs were saved. When was the parvo outbreak? Hard to tell with the time line of these posts.

We also purchased a puppy from them, everything tracks with the other complaints- not allowing to see the pups, bar parking lot, cash- I asked her husband if we needed to continue deworming meds, given there was a history of them, and he said “no.” Unfortunately our little girl died today as she was filled with hook worms. Is there any way we can all get in touch with each other to put a stop to this?

Katy Sperle should be shut down! She just breeds w/out any compassion for the animals for their futurue pet parent. My dog had all kinds of defects that cost me $2000 in vet bills. I'm sorry your fur baby died. So unnecessary. I don't know why her husband is in the picture. Ms

s Sperle told me they were getting a divorce and losing the farm. Just a sob story to make me feel bad and buy the pup to help her out. It's the dogs and pups who are suffering at the hands of this wretched ,exploitative woman. Can you sue her in small claims court since the pup was ill due to their negligence?

Sorry your puppy died and you had to deal with this puppy mill breeder who obviously does not vet check her puppies or give them minimal medical care. Please leave your email if you'd like to discuss this further.

Thanks,

Yoyo kitty

The woman above was denied a puppy from our breeding program after several red flags and aggressive, pushy behavior. We are not obligated to sell a puppy to anyone and will not sell a puppy to a home that we do not feel is right. She now has came on here making up lies to make us look bad. We have many happy families and are happy to provide references. We are state licensed and inspected annually. Our puppies are raised in our home with our 3 small kids. All of our parents are genetic tested. We also own several AKC champions. Clearly these people are angry they were not allowed to adopt a puppy and are lashing out.

My husband and I had an unfortunate experience with Katy Sperle as well. We were not able to meet puppies but she said she would meet us in order for us to pick up the puppy that I was interested in, that I picked out from the pictures on her Facebook group page. I asked a handful of questions and it was like pulling teeth from her to get information about the pup. She had some answers but when you are told that a price for a merle puppy can go upwards to $2700, vague answers are not it.

We met in the parking lot of a restaurant/bar and it turned out to be just her husband. He gave me the sweet puppy to hold while my mother in law looked at the proof of vaccinations and such. Puppy was shaking but seemed very friendly. I gave her to my husband who immediately fell in love with her cute little tail! My mother in law wanted to look the puppy over and that is when Katy’s husband went over to my husband, pointed out my MiL and said she’s going to cause problems. My mil wanted to ask Katy some questions about the parents and about the genetic testing that was supposedly done so the man called her for us. We could hear Katy talking over my mil on the phone and interrupting. My mil got off the phone and was feeling puppy’s belly and says the puppy seems healthy, but I do think there is a small hernia. Katy’s husband immediately said give me the [censored]ing dog & grabbed puppy by the scruff. My mil was shocked and took the puppy back out of his grip. She was totally surprised someone would grab a puppy like that from a potential new owner. There was no discussion on a possible hernia, she was about to show him and ask what he thought. I was given no chance to say anything as I was the one in contact the whole time for this puppy. He took the contract out of my hands and went back to his car. As we pulled out of our parking spot he nearly hit us in the lot. It was awful, I fell for that sweet little girl puppy he brought out of the car. I am just sad it ended up like that and I do hope the puppy is okay. I don’t understand why this breeder could not have all this information about her puppies and parents on a website. She had multiple breeds and litters in her group page on FB but they were just pictures and some video. No real information. If you don’t care about the health or the personality of puppies, go ahead and use this breeder! I thought perhaps she would apologize or ask for an explanation of what happened through Facebook but she blocked me right away.
