Our solar panels were installed 14 months ago, and still remain disconnected. Customer service is terrible. We constantly have to call and ask for updates and receive the same answer: we are waiting on approval from the electric company, which we verified is untrue. Because of the financial hardship they created for us, we requested removal of the panels and a refund. Since then, they have stopped communicating with us. We are seeking legal action.

Big Star Builders, Inc. is a company that, unfortunately, has some issues. They have been known to mislead customers, charging them too much for their services. The customer service is also quite poor. They don't bother to create a proper design for their clients; instead, they simply provide a monthly payment plan without clearly explaining the level of efficiency they are actually purchasing. Additionally, they seem to have a tendency to deceive customers in order to make a sale, without considering the consequences. As an employer, they are not very reliable. They don't provide fair wages and have been known to withhold commissions.

If I could give them a -10, I would. My mom contacted them for solar panel installation and services in June . They promised her a tax break, a warranty without any cost, free servicing, and a fixed monthly payment for financing the solar panels. But from the start, it's been nothing but lies and broken promises. The so-called "monthly payment" was actually 100% interest fees for 17 months, and they conveniently forgot to mention that in the contract. Whenever my mom calls for service, they always demand a service fee. And during winter storms when there are power outages, the solar panels don't even provide electricity. If you're thinking of switching to solar energy, please avoid contacting Big Star. Don't fall for this scam. You'll only end up losing money, stuck with faulty solar panels, and a huge debt. Big Star is a fraudulent company.

I think there's a problem with my solar system because I don't understand why the light bill is coming out too high. It feels like they aren't working properly. I need someone to come to my home and check them out because I'm paying for the solar system and still have a really high light bill, even though I was promised I wouldn't have one.

I was supposed to get solar panels from Big Star Builders, Inc. They got a loan for me and came to install everything. They had panels up and everything, but they said they couldn't do it anymore 'cause they couldn't get a certain permit. They took everything off and ain't giving the money back to the bank. I talked to the bank, and they said they've been tryin' to contact 'em with no luck. The supervisor never talks to me directly. He's always on lunch or outta the office or outta the country. He claimed he started the process months ago, but the bank said that ain't true. Now my credit is goin' down the drain.

After a whole year, I'm still waiting for *** Big Star to finish my connection and give me my battery. It's been a real hassle trying to contact them. I keep getting the runaround and can never talk to a real person. Every time I call, it goes straight to voicemail and they never call me back. On top of that, I'm still stuck with a high electric bill and the Mosiac bill for the solar panel. They keep blaming Covid for my battery being on back order, but it's been six months already. I just want this system to be done and I don't want to deal with Big Star's games anymore.

I had agreed to have them install solar panels on my home back on 3/7/2022. They had the panels installed, but they never finished the setup process. Now the panels are sitting on our roof unconnected to any power source. They just say we need to sign an agreement with TEP electronically, but I haven't received the document after trying multiple times to have it emailed over. Since we had problems with them claiming they sent the agreement through email, even though I always check that email, they were supposed to send someone to my house for a physical signature. Well, they haven't followed up on setting an appointment or sending someone out. Now we're being charged for the loan and have been charged for 2 months without our solar panels working as we agreed. Our lender Mosaic Inc has agreed to refund the payments, but I haven't received any updates from Big Star Builders. Their customer service department has been slow to respond and hasn't shown any concern about completing this project.

Big Star Builders sold me a solar system for my home on *** and since then they haven't followed my solar contract. My solar system isn't running and it's been 10 months. I've been paying them $150.00 every month for the last 10 months with no solar system. They failed the solar inspection through Pima county and as of today ***, they came onto my property and removed parts related to my solar system and won't answer phone calls at all. I've tried many times in the 10 months to get my solar system up and running, but Big Star Builders keeps giving me the runaround while happily taking my money. I still don't have my backup battery for my solar system. On ***, they took breakers from my electric box and left me with no electricity in my house, in 108-degree *** hot weather. I lost the food in my fridge. I've had to use a generator to get electricity to my house because they took the breakers. I want my money back and the solar system they promised and financed me for $***. Big Star Builders is a scam company and they keep scamming and taking others' money, just like they scammed me. Please help me.

On July 14, I bought solar panels from Big Star Builders Inc for $***. In November, they came to put the solar panels on the roof. While installing, the Big Star Builders contractor broke the meter socket. Because of this damage and the old electrical panel, the solar panels couldn't work. I've called many times to get it fixed, but I'm put on hold for a long time (45 minutes to over an hour), or sometimes the call gets disconnected while on hold. Every person I need to talk to, including the "supervisor" ***, is "never available to take my call or in a meeting". An email from SRP (electric company) construction department was sent to *** on 12/6 at 3:12 pm, explaining what needs to be fixed before turning on the power. *** replied "confirmed" on 12/7/XXXX XX:XX am. On 12/8, SRP came to turn off the power so the repairs could be done. On the same day, a contractor from the solar company came to the house, but the repairs were NOT done as required by SRP. I called *** on a 3-way call, with myself and *** Design Consultant from SRP, to explain that the work wasn't completed as requested, but *** got mad and hung up on me. I don't have electricity at home since yesterday. Power can't be turned on until the repairs are done as required by SRP. Both my wife and I are old with health problems. My family and I can't live without electricity in our home. We have no light, our food is spoiling, and this is a health and safety problem. PLEASE HELP! I really appreciate your help with this issue.

This company has the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with any company. After over eight months of having the solar panels installed. We have still not had them commissioned and turned on. I live in Arizona and just got done paying a *** electricity bill. I was expecting our solar to be hooked up by now so we wouldn't have to pay such high of a bill. And on top of that even though we have been reimbursed for some of the months, we still have to pay almost $200 a month for the solar panels . Every time I call which is very frequently to the business I can never get a straight answer. They always tell me that they're waiting for our electrical company to get back to them or they're waiting for an appointment. Their appointments are never fulfilled. The electrician has now not showed up to the appointment twice and also failed to see that we needed a new main panel upgrade. Which took several months to install the new electrical panel. We have all the corrections and everything we need to turn on the solar panels. I cannot get the company to send in the corrections to our electrical company so we can move forward with the project. Every time I call the business it is very hard to get a hold of anybody that knows anything and even if you do they really don't know much. There is no communication between anybody in that company. The different departments that need to communicate with each other to push the project forward are not in communication with each other. After like I said eight months of this going on I had expected the solar to been turned on months ago. But now we are stuck here at the end of summer paying almost $600 a month electricity bills. And this is all because of big star builders lack of communication and diligence. I am frustrated beyond belief with this company and the whole situation.
