I have been contacting BCU for more than two years concerning unusual account activity on my Mortgage account. Payments were setup on AutoPay in accordance with the original loan agreement and payments were always made on time. Then one day, BCU cancelled the autopay and setup a "scheduled transfer" in place of the autopay. I noticed several "payment reversals" on the account ledger, however, payments were made each month as usual. Payment reversals are still on the ledger but no money has been returned to me and my inquiries have gone unanswered. I have sent letters, left messages online, called the 800#, and sent emails. None of my questions have been answered. BCU says that I missed a payment and my account is not current. I don't understand how I can all of a sudden one day miss a payment if the payments are setup on autopay by BCU and managed by BCU. When I investigated the 4 year long errors, I found that BCU failed to update the autopay amount with the latest escrow analysis. Rather than reach out to me and let me know that BCU made an error, BCU tried to hide the error by cancelling autopay and setting up a "scheduled transfer" without ever missing a payment. I was completely unaware of these activities by BCU. Interestingly, the year in question resulted in an escrow overage despite BCU's failure to update the payment amount. After two years of messaging and emailing, I finally got one customer service team member to admit that the payment was not on autopay and provided guidance as to how I should make payments in the future. That only solves part of the problem. My account is "not current" as a result of the fraudulent activities by BCU. I have asked for a full investigation and arbitration in lieu of legal action against BCU. I have not heard back. Anyone thinking of banking with BCU, don't do it! I finally had to close my credit card because BCU continued to apply late fees even when the payment was made on time. When I contacted customer service, they said "yes, we are aware of the issue". If they were aware of the issue, why did they not notify me? This happened several times consecutively. I no longer trust BCU to handle my money. Additionally, when they finally refunded the late fee "error", it was deposited to my savings account and not the account it originated from. I guess it was scam to increase their savings account deposits for a few months. When I asked to have it moved from savings to the original account, they said, "you can do it".
Desired outcome: Account errors should be corrected and my account brought current. I am owed all payments that were reversed but never paid out/received and all escrow overages that were paid but not received and escrow overages that are being held.
