On March 11, 2026, I attended a scheduled nurse appointment at 9:30 a.m. at Wake Forest Baptist Endocrinology in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for time-sensitive laboratory testing. Although my appointment began on time, my labs were not completed until approximately 11:00 a.m. After the procedure, the nurse informed me that if I needed anything while waiting for my transportation, I should go to the front desk for assistance. While I was waiting calmly and without causing any disruption, a security staff member approached me in an aggressive and confrontational manner. He questioned my presence, asking who I was and who I worked for, stating he had been told to ask. I calmly explained that I was a patient who had just completed an appointment and was waiting for delayed transportation due to a medical emergency. Despite this explanation, he appeared dismissive and insisted that I leave the property as soon as possible. When my transportation arrived, I went to the front desk to request the practice manager, identified as “Kala” (spelling uncertain). I called the office and was transferred to her desk, but did not receive a return call. I also notified Dr. Price of the incident. To date, I have received no response, and this experience raises concerns about patient treatment and possible discrimination.
