excessive rate increase for house / cottage renewal

My Insurance bill went up by over $400.00 which is hard to understand being a retired person living on a fix income, When I contacted the St. Antoine office, speaking to Nicole? I told her that this was a very big increase and ask that she looked into finding a better rate, she left me a phone message a few days later basically telling me that all rates went up and that she did not find anything cheaper for me, I felt at the time and still today that this was not good customer care as I have been with Wawanesa for over 37 years, I'm not convinced that the St. Antoine office did their best to lower my insurance increase of over$400.00 and request someone from your department look into this and get back to me regarding this issue.
As my insurance renewal date was quickly coming due I did not follow this up until this time in order to insure for my Insurance coverage for both my house and Cottage.
PS. in speaking with others they indicated to me that their rate had gone up but way less than $400.00 plus.

Telephoned Mr. Leblanc to follow-up as promised. I was able to obtain information quickly as the file had been reviewed accordingly. Again, I apologized to Mr. Leblanc that he’d been missing information regarding his renewal. Reassured him that we had done a complete review of his policy, first making sure his existing coverage had all the discounts applicable etc. then priced with all of our other markets and each were more expensive, ranging from $14 to $1, 400 more. Recommended he should let us quote his auto insurance. We may not be able to lower his home insurance but we might be able to find savings on his auto insurance, depending on his driving history, He said he would call us prior to his auto renewal to obtain a quote. He thanked me for calling him back to discuss further, I thanked him for his loyalty as we value his business and he can call us at any time.

Yesterday, I contacted Mr. Leblanc to inform him that his policy is being reviewed and that he will receive a response within a couple of days. I reassured him that we always have the best interests of our clients at heart and that insurance policies are closely examined, while ensuring that they provide the appropriate protection to meet their needs. He thanked me for calling and awaits our response.
