American Van Lines review: What an absolute nightmare

I contracted with AVL to move my belongings from Fl to WI. I was quoted an amount of less than $7,000.00. Needless to say, it was downhill from there. The movers arrived in the late afternoon and were unable to complete the task, I was told they were on electronic log and would need to return the next day due to lack of remaining hours. These movers were very professional and courteous. Belongings were wrapped and taped. I was due to arrive in WI on July 5 and they were to meet me the next day. My flights took > 24 hours and they could not wait for me, hence my belongings went into their storage facility (Blue Sky Movers), I had to live in a hotel for 5 weeks at a cost of $6,000.00. I was delivery dates several times. The delivery was made August 17. My belongings were no longer in packing blankets. The boxes were wet and collapsed in on themselves. My 42" Insignia TV was missing, along with my 35mm camera equipment. A nightstand and matching dresser were ruined, along with broken glassware, etc. I was told I would be reimbursed $1,230.00 for the delay in delivery. I do not get return calls or emails. I still await resolution.
