A few years ago we signed up with American Power & Gas. They were offering us a good rate and said we'd receive a 25% rebate check at the end of the year. It sounded good, but I was foolish to believe that they'd actually save us money. After the term was up, our rate was variable. Our bill started to creep up slowly, and just now I received a bill for $379! This is a residence, not a business. I looked at the rate and saw that they are now charging us 24 cents per KWH! I will be the first to one to say that it's all my fault for not doing my due diligence, but honestly, this company is robbing people blind. I would strongly recommend not ever giving these guys the time of day if they call you. They are most definitly a scam. And, the 25% rebate check, is only 25% of your average monthly bill. BIG DEAL!
Recommendation: Never call, never sign up, and if they call you, HANG UP! And when you do choose a service, make sure you understand the full terms, and keep rate shopping. Never get complacent.
