Allied Universal / Aus.com Security officers being told by supervisor to harass homeless people outside of our jurisdiction.

Security Officers at 680 Folsom steet San Francisco are being told and held responsible for removing homeless people in areas that our client BXP Boston Properties does not own, manage, control and where we the Security do not work. The buildings we are being asked to remove homeless people from are SF Park on the side of their building that is located in Clementina alley across the street from our building and the Thirsty Bear restaurant which is not our property. SF Park's address is 255 3rd steet San Francisco. 661 Howard street San Francisco.

1) By patrolling and asking homeless people to leave areas that are not our property we are harassing homeless people. Our client and supervisor are opening us up to potential harassment lawsuits from homeless people and homeless rights organizations.

2) To ensure that this is taken seriously am personally notifying the local homeless rights organizations and non profit organizations that we are being told to harass homeless people on properties that we are not in charge of and don't manage. I am reporting the same information to them that I am mentioning in this complaint. If this continues I am offering the names of all individuals involved, times and dates to any homeless rights group that is interested.

3) By unnecessarily patrolling and removing homeless people from properties that we do not manage we are putting ourselves in possible unnecessary danger in the event that the homeless have weapons.

4) We have been told that our property management team doesn't like the sight of homeless people which is why they are asking us to patrol properties that they do not manage. As far as I'm concerned not liking the sight of things on property's that you don't own or control is a personal problem. It doesn't give us the right to police the entire city or harass people off site. It's not our property, it's not our job, it's harassment, it opens us up to potential liability and potential unnecessary danger to our Security Officers.

Desired outcome: Our property management and supervisor needs to stop asking us to patrol and remove homeless people from properties that our client does not own, control, manage and where Security Officers are not assigned and do not work.

This is not a complaint. Yet. This is a question that can become a complaint in the future.

My supervisor is removing homeless people from areas that are out of our jurisdiction and requiring Security to do the same. The client is asking him to do this and he seems to be a "Yes man" who will do anything he's asked by the client regardless of if it is normal or standard practice for Security professionals.

In my opinion it's out of our jurisdiction. We have no business patrolling areas that are out of our jurisdiction. He is putting us in unneccesary physical danger by having us patrol areas out of our jurisdiction and approaching homeless areas outside of our jurisdiction. My supervisor is potentially opening us up to lawsuits from homeless rights groups in San Francisco.

Is there any company policy that I can show my supervisor tbat says he can't ask us to do what he's doing or is my supervisor allowed to do what he's doing?

This isn't a complaint yet. This is a question about company policy.

When a Security Officer assumes duty are they responsible for getting rid of the homeless found during their shift or is the blame on the previous shift?

In my opinion when a Security Officer assumes duty they are solely responsible for addressing and removing homeless people found near the building. That's what assuming duty means. We clock in and clock out every 8 hours regardless of what is and isn't done.

In my case the area in question is outside of the view of our cameras. The area technically is out of our jurisdiction. My coworkers are blaming me without being able to prove anything. No homeless are getting into the building, no vandalism, no graffiti. If they were appearing on camera during my shift I would simply get rid of them. I already asked a separate question about if I'm obligated to remove homeless from areas outside of our jurisdiction.

Is there any company policy I can show my coworkers and supervisor that says that the previous shift isn't responsible for what the oncoming shift finds and that it's the oncoming shifts job to deal with it whatever they find?

Allied Universal / Aus.com Jennifer Taylor Security officer at La Guardia MTA depot

I am a Bus Operator from La Guardia depot coming off my shift at 1:10am. I parked the bus in front of the depot then got off the bus on a rainy day. As soon as I walked off the bus the security guard, Jennifer Taylor, approached me and asked for my ID although she she saw me drive the bus into the station, get off the bus with paperwork in my hands, and in full MTA uniform. So I showed her my issued MTA badge and walked away. She then began to follow me to the dispatch booth and complained that I did not comply with her demand. She then proceeded to ask the dispatcher my name and BO,( Bus Operator number) threatening to "make it her duty to get me in trouble". She also said she would file a complaint. I also noticed that there was another bus operator that arrived shortly after that was not harassed to see the ID so at this point I felt targeted. I am the fifth bus operator that she is trying to get fired for the same reason. I am asking for a full investigation of Jennifer Taylor and her tactics as I believe her harassment needs to come to light.

Desired outcome: Full investigation of Jennifer Taylor Security Officer at La Guardia MTA depot

Allied Universal / Aus.com Front Desk Security Officer

After entering the TastyKake Building located at 4300 S 26th in Philadelphia, PA. I wasn’t greeted by the guard at the window, maybe because he was on a personal phone call. He pointed his finger at 2 different sign in sheets. After signing in he still isn’t helping me with anything. Another Allied Security employee was exiting the building and asked if I needed help. This is when everything went crazy. View video for further actions of employee. After I walked outside 3 employees from HR came outside (Christine Johnson) being one of them asked what happened because they heard the disruption. This is very combative, irate, rude and unprofessional. I asked him numerous times is this how you represent TastyKake, you can clearly hear his responses in the video that’s 4 minutes long that I can not upload in it’s entirety, but will hold for further clarification in this matter.

Desired outcome: Not my decision, but something clearly something needs to be done. He needs to held accountable for his actions.

Today ,I Blair Andrews,a resident of 599 Ralph avenue Brooklyn,N.Y,11223 had already cleared the meatal detector ( no beep) when I was about to leave the lobby I was called back because the female (loud boisterous and unprofessional lieutenant) security guard wasn't paying attention. When this specific female employee sees me, she always has a dirty look or a unkind word . Super Unprofessional.

Desired outcome: Change her site, or reinstitute the proper search procedure/ to her again. Wanding someone after the machine has done the job . Smarter no harder. "To add insult to injury", she was training another guard

Allied Universal / Aus.com Coworker

We have a coworker that is to lazy to get up and walk about 200 feet to use the bathroom. She has had bowel movements on herself many times. She refused to go home and clean up . On few occasions she washed out her work pants in the bathroom sink . 8 mo ago she clogged a sink , we are not allowed in that hall anymore because of that and we are security. She leaves human waste on walls, floors , on and in the toilet and and sinks. She has destroyed plumbing. She wears depends ( no health issues) and goes to the bathroom in them until she has to do her security rounds then she changes , sometimes it is 2 hours before she goes to change her depends. She has relieved herself in the waste basket in our office even. She does not have health issues either. We work in a 10 by 14 closed room for 8 hours a day and at times it is unbearable. I complained to my boss three months ago and nothing was done. Recently she has been thrown out by the OM of the building we are working in and my boss will not bring this situation to anyone . When she was removed from the building , my boss finally suspended her pending investigation, an hour later she is back at work. What can we do about this unhealthy environment? When I was new I felt sorry for her when I got to know her alittle more she told me she is healthy . In addition to this she Will purposely not do her security rounds because she”don’t feel like it” . The boss shows up one’s a week for half hour and then he is gone! He does not have to work in these conditions. What can we do about this? We all need our job single moms with bills.

Allied Universal / Aus.com I am currently under suspension pending hr review.

Allied Universal needs to have better management and other disciplinary actions. My Assistant Account Manager (AAM) and Account Manager (AM) plays favoritism amongst their own. There has been issues where Security Professionals are constantly late, sleeping on the job continuously, and even denying a contractor to work in the building but yet they still got to keep their job! Meanwhile, myself, All I did was clock in on time a few times when I was late because I was only a few minutes pass and the AAM called me up to his office, not to give me a verbal warning, nor a written one. Instead it was an automatic suspension. I automatically sense the BS that goes on within Allied Universal. Also, the AM was just handed the job. He was hired because he had a connection with Property Management and AUS would please their clients even if it meant on hiring someone incompetent! He has no idea in what he is doing, relies on the AAM for the simplest tasks and neither AAM or AM puts an effort to build a better relationship with the Security Professionals. I do my job, I never sleep on the job, ensure to provide stellar customer service to those who check in, and I used to accept overtime that was out of my way just so I can help my AAM out. But now, the tables have turned. The outcome is still pending so I am not going to disclose any names nor contact Human Resources with my complaint. But best believe, if the outcome is undesirable; I will come back to this complaint and name the site (AUS's Client) and those involved. And I will most certainly complain to Human Resources and possibly even try to get a hold of the Regional Vice President of AUS in my area. I mind my business, I don't start any drama, but I constantly network looking for new opportunities to arise and constantly observe those around me. But this, this is something that I cannot let go just yet.

Desired outcome: Lift my pending suspension.

I was asked to work a shift on December 3 and excepted. The shift was never put in my schedule which I asked for numerous times so that I was able to clock in but yet and still it was never put in. I worked the shift after the shift, informed my account managers of my time of check in and check out it was never put on my schedule. I contacted my managers again to make sure that my pay would be on time never received a response even after I did not receive a paycheck I've tried to contact and have not received any response very unprofessional, especially when you want your employees to come in and help and your hindering their life by holding back their checks, and not properly doing your job

Allied Universal / Aus.com Treatment of work environment

As a AUS security officer I expected better treatment from my coworkers and especially my boss. I 20 yr female was scolded for wearing a pride pin its small about an inch big not only am I getting scolded for what I care/believe in every time I get scolded at aka my boss he blames it on me having a girlfriend. I understand walking around but what I don't understand is why can't I use the restroom for 7 minutes use workers are wearing many clothes while he only wears a shirt and pants. No belts no sweater no tie he doesn't even wear the big hats and when we complain about the uniforms he always brings up the fact that he used to work outside. That doesn't mean we don't have feelings too. Us workers are so exhausted after a shift. Kicking us out the break room for only a few minutes. He lies about caring and only says what anyone wants to hear. I asked to have a certain day off for my fathers funeral anniversary but I wasn't allowed to cause there wasn't much staff it was still a month away. He also makes us sign a contract for ridiculous reasons like no trash can in the break room no less than 5 minutes bathroom/water break and if we don't sign the contract we will get written up or fired coworkers are considering quitting including me and I only worked here for 2 months. Hours getting taken away, I don't even have enough to pay my own rent let alone bills. I thought security officers were supposed to be treated with respect.

Allied Universal / Aus.com Wrongful termination / removal from site

My name is Eric Mann Jr, I've been employed with Allied Universal for 12 yrs. I started at John Hopkins University in 2010 as a bike officer. 5 years later I was promoted to Sergeant, a month after I was promoted to Lieutenant and 6 months prior to I was promoted to Major of Operations. Due to the changes of account managers, I've dealt with the lack of support from my upper management. My last time employed at JHU was August 2020 as I was a Captain at that time. I was removed from the site wrongfully for a employee being robbed which was out of my control and nor did I gain knowledge of the incident until an hour after due to the employee leaving the site after incident without my knowledge. Every since then, i've been at other sites who contract doesn't stay active for long. My last current site was at a Fed Ex ware house. I was there for about 4 months, never met any upper management but was terminated without being acknowledge of the reason behind the termination. Now I have not been working for over 2 months which is putting a toll on my personal life. I've been a dedicated employee for over a decade and I deserve better treatment and understanding. I can explain much more once I speak to some one who can actually help me. Thank you and looking forward to getting this matter resolved.

Desired outcome: An overnight shift at a reliable site for possible growth and continue my career with company.

Allied Universal / Aus.com Allied employee named Anthony at premium mall Orlando

At 7:01pm I had the doors of the Premium Mall food court closed in my face as I was trying to leave abs get to my disabled father after running into the restroom for a wick moment. I tried to plea my case to a worker of allied security so that I could get to my father. The man by the name of Anthony started to become irate saying we are adults!. Regardless of that I told him my father should not be sitting there alone! I had to leave from a far exit and as I'm exiting this man to follow me. He then starts being extremely rude and I told him to leave me be and dismiss himself. At that point he called me an ignorant [censored].

Desired outcome: He is extremely unprofessional and nasty and does not deserve a job in client/people service. He needs to be relieved of his job for this level of unprofessionalism.

Allied Universal / Aus.com Wrongful termination

I worked for the Northrop Grumman account as the site lead. I filed numerous compliance and policy violations complaints over a regarding the other allied and Northrop employees violating DOD policies. I was repeatedly treated in a hostile manner by both the client and allied for pointing out misconduct. On October 13th 2022 i filed a double HR complaint for a hostile work environment with both the clients HR and allied's due to contractors on site making threats of violence towards security and being let on a classified site by Northrop management along with client employees being hostile and verbally abusive to my persons for enforcing the policies they hired us to enforce. On October 14th 24 hours after said reports to HR and proper management don Bautista the regional manager texts me and says i was removed from my job for filing protected complaints. I explained both state and federal law that he is in violation for retaliation against my persons and legal actions are going to be taken then he went radio silent. He refused my written demands for my final check to be paid within 24 hours per Minnesota law and refused to abide by Minnesota law and produce a written truthful reason as to my removal

Desired outcome: First off fire Don Bautista for violating whistle blower protection and fair labor laws both state and federal and then pay me my final check and cash out my unused PTO and supply me with a severance package.

Allied Universal / Aus.com Fired for filing a complaint to the eeoc and DFEH.

So I work for allied universal since [protected] then got rehired in 2021. After me working for a couple of months I got hurt at work and was taken to the hospital. Then was put on light duty means desk duty and had a supervisor make fun of me do to the incident and told me discriminating things so I made a complaint to the eeoc on May of 2022 and the DFEH then within a month it was getting so bad that iv made complaints to the manager about the supervisor but all they said was ill give it to the director. Nothing was done made my life miserable. So I went to work on july 4 2022 and started not filling good even thru up. So I ask the supervisor to send me home that I was going to sign the sheet for the california sick time I had and then got a call from the manager that they wanted to talk to me on the following day (fyi that's my day off) so I send yeah if I fill better I'll be there. So I go and they tell me that I left my post without property being released so they terminated me and didn't even give me my last check so I told them I am being retaliated against because I made those complaints they said nothing oh and i was told by a couple of employeesthere still that they are going to lie that i did not get fired but what they dont know is i recoded the hole conversion.
