Air Wickscented plugin

Plugin was removed and placed on table in order to move furniture. Plugin leaked on table, and ate away at the finish. Brand new table has been ruined. When I contacted air wick, parent company reckitt benckiser, they told me that leaking was normal when the plugin is removed. They stated that the cap that comes with the plug-in must always be placed on the minute that the item is removed because the warmth of the plug-in will guarantee that it will leak. Reading other comments, seems that this type of thing happens all the time.
