Found a dog in the size and temperament we assumed would get along with our 3 year old mix breed and 3 cats plus turtles and tortoises we have had for over thirty years. Submitted required paperwork assuming we would be scheduled for a meet & greet which makes perfect sense. We are on day four and have never heard back from the family fostering the pup we are interested in. No, we are considering your request or the pup has already been adopted or ? We have received about six emails from adopt-a-pet however trying to sell various services so ... legit?

The website sponsoring a public profile for a pet shouldn't be blamed for very REAL people seeking to Re-Home their pets. Its the owners who know their pets better and are seeking the best fit for long-term tho must wade thru anonymous names and cell numbers of many ppl and some who are not fit to care for kids due to drug addictionEtc or seeking pets as toys for to winn over kids in divorce. Social media is informative thankfully many air dirty laundry with zero pride. Just think about the pet you love and if having to re-home them, when judging these owners.
The website is paid for or making money by advertisements but the pet owners set rehome etc fees and is paid to them directly upon transferring a pet. NO ones perfect and pet owners giving up their pets are stressed out from it and most likely not happy having to give them up to strangers. Many ppl use anonymous emails and phones (no voicemail) and bc Adopt-a-Pet dont show last name of applicants, it's scary too bc owners are not anonymous and meeting them in their home. NOT all applicants are nice ppl and or have good intentions.
