I have Delta Dental insurance and have suffered from severe teeth grinding during my sleep for years. The condition progressed to the point that my teeth no longer properly touched, making it extremely difficult to eat foods such as sandwiches or tear meat.
After visiting my dentist, they reviewed my insurance coverage and informed me that Delta Dental would cover crowns for my front teeth because they were causing pain and were close to the nerve. Based on that information, I proceeded with the treatment and paid my portion of the cost. However, Delta Dental ultimately did not pay the amount that was expected, leaving me responsible for an additional $1,900 bill. This has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience.
