I had pipes in my master bathroom wall that leaked at least a year ago. I turned the water supply off to that shower. I also suspected a small drip in my upstairs bathroom at the sink. And a shut-off valve needing replaced in the downstairs bathroom for the toilet water supply. I called A 1 American Services to come out . They told me there was a $179.00 fee just for a diagnosis. They showed up the next day around 9am and left around 430pm. The bill total was $5,885.00
Drain repair inside upstairs hall bath wall 2,567.00
Repair shower hot and cold line in wall 1,978.00
Replace toilet water supply shut valve 886.0 and materials $ 454.00
While replacing the shower hot and cold line in the wall , they cut the drywall access making a larger hole. After trying to do the repair, they then stated that they thought that they were going to have to access the pipes from the other side . Which would mean they were about to tear out the fairly new bathroom tiles. My wife came up at that point and intervened. Then they backtracked saying that they would try not to go that route. They cut a hole inside of my other bedroom closet wall to fix the small leak . I never saw any wetness from the leak. Inside the wall. This bill could have been much lower in my opinion. I can't get my head around the price just to replace a shutoff cold water supply to a toilet. No wonder the bad reviews. I can see why BBB does not have them listed. In this case it's a customer beware. I can't emphasize the importance of do your research before signing a contract with this company.
