I bought a calling card on UNIONTELECARD.COM web site. I selected their automatic recharge which provides for the card to be automatically recharged by $10.00 anytime the balance goes below $3.00. So this particular card and pin always has money on it. Upon checking the call history for this card over the last 2 months on the website I noticed several calls to Greece over the last 2 months that I did not make. Either someone hacked the site or one of their employees with access to client's online account was making calls on clients pin numbers and making it appear that it was made from one of the client's pinless dialing number. I complained to the company and they refunded me the cost of the calls I did not make. But its scary to leave your credit card number with a company that can be so easily hacked or exploited by their own employees.

I also faced with very very unprofessional customer services from uniontelecard, they never want to admit that something is wrong with system, instead they want to blame you on their own fault. They bring excuse which number did you use, is it cell phone, and then oh it is busy. I called from regular phone and get which number I want. But they tried to lie to me that oh sir we tried it is busy. They are very very unprofessional and lier company. DO NOT BUY ANY PHONE MINUTES FROM THEM. IT IS HEADACHE AND LOST OF NERVIOUS AND MONEY.

Have anyone faced issues like even after you end the call, and dial again, it says your account is in use. I am afraid if my account being used by someone? I tried going into uniontelecard.com, it looks to be down. Also, I tried calling the customer service number, they are closed now :(. any suggestions or anyone faced this before?

I have been a customer of uniontelecard since my husband was deployed to Afghanistan in Jan. 2009. I have had absolutely no trouble using my access numbers, pin numbers and when I called customer service to find out about the points plan, they were extremely courteous. On some of the cards you purchase from them, you must read the fine print. Some cards cost a weekly fee and a connection fee. It also tells you that if you use the toll free access numbers you must pay a higher price. Before you purchase one, you should make sure that you read what the fees are before you just buy it because of the cheap rate, some of the cards look really cheap until you read that fine print.

I signed up for a special promotion and they wanted a security deposit, I confirmed twice that this was a refundable deposit - they clearly said, that i could cancel the account anytime a get a full refund. However, i later decided never to use their service and now the customer service says that this was an activation fees - WHICH is not refundable.

These are a bunch of crooks who will lie to get your money. Be extermely careful.

I will report them on BBB as well.

Regarding Francis Guilardi's comment. that is a lie! I have got a refund every time I have asked for one. Even if they do not want to issue one, they have to give it by law. Union Telecard also has the best customer service... they even return your calls, not like other companies where they just promise they will but do not do it. I recommend evaluating comments as many people just get upset when they are not fair themselves

Please avoid Uniontelecard. My friend recommended Viapin. So I googled it and Uniontelecard came up. I bought a card for $20. It did not work. I tried multiple call-ins, including the 800 and numbers in CA, NJ, etc. None worked. I called asking for a refund. They refused saying all sales are final.

Even before I used the card, they have this "authorization" procedure. They have to get your approval before charging your credit card. They do this by calling you. They charged my card without my authorization. In all, every time I called to complain, the operators were very unprofessional and rude. Basically spoke to you like they were on the street with you. I'm betting that their operators are prison inmates working the lines.

In all, I recommend avoiding Uniontelecard.
