Waldrop's Plumbing Heating and Air has kept my heat/ac running for many years. When my heat went out during the winter of 2015, they provided space heaters until the new unit was installed. I'll never for get their generosity. The service technician, Tim Bobo, that I saw today was very profession and efficient.

Everytime we have Waldrop out to do work they knock it out of park. From the call center to the guys in field they are all top notch. Blake was here to do an install and he was very curtiious, professional and represented Waldrop very well. Would recommend Waldrop to everyone everytime for everything that they do.

Evan and Landon came to our home to install a hot water heater. I was very pleased how kind and professional they were . There work truck was clean and organized. I appreciated the call before since we was an early morning job. They worked efficiently to get our hot water running by noon. I would highly recommend Waldrop plumbing to do any plumbing job .

Tyler E from Waldrop Plumbing Heating & Air came out today to do the routine maintenance on my HVAC unit. He arrived within the time frame I was given and he was very polite. I thought he did an excellent job explaining what he was going to do. Tyler ask if I was having any problems with my unit or if I had any questions for him before he got started.

Justin was part of a team with Brent to install our new HVAC. They were so courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They were at our home for 6 hours and did a fantastic job! The installation job they did professional no short cuts nor any mishaps. They had impeccable manners and cleaned up all areas where they worked. So happy with our experience all around!

Arrived on time. Worked to complete the installation of a new hot water heater. Also worked to install new hot and cold water control dials and a new water direction dial for the tub / shower. Provided a paid invoice by email before leaving. Also answered questions and explained the services completed. Removed old water heater from premises. Reliable, timely, and good work.

Awesome job! Quick response to an online appointment to a customer that had never used them before. Not only were they quick, but they came earlier than the appointment so that I could get my AC back up and running. Service technician Hunter was great, polite knowledgeable and really quick to fix my system. I will definitely use them again and tell everyone I know to use Waldrup for any AC/plumbing need.

Brent, Coleman and Parker did excellent work installing our new HVAC system. All were the most polite and helpful with any question I had about the system. They didn’t even stop to take a lunch break. When they left everything was neater and cleaner than they found it. Every person I have ever spoken with at Waldrop Heating & Air has been so professional and always polite. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. Thank you.

Contacted Waldrop on Sunday 7//19 for repair to my water heater. They called on Monday morning and scheduked me for Thursday7/23, well Thursday came and went, no serviceman. Oh they called and rescheduled me for Friday, well 10:30 Friday came a call, that they couldnt make it and didnt know when they would be able to schedule me. They seemed not to care I had no hot water for two days. DO NOT CALL THEM EVER, they are the worst company in the upstate

Jean C and his coworker did a fantastic job! They worked very hard to find the source of my problem and when they couldn't find it, Jean was very honest and informative about what I should do. I am so grateful that they did that before starting to dig up my front yard to replace the water line when obviously that wasn't the problem. I will definitely use Waldrop and specifically Jean again and will recommend them to any of my friends--which I have already done.

Scott H did a great annual maintenance overhaul on our generator earlier today. He was here about an hour and did a thorough job checking, replacing where needed and adjusting where needed also. He left a written follow-up report for us outlining what he had accomplished in our equipment. Scott did a great job and like your telephone receptionists, he has me smiling as a long- time, loyal customer. Thank you Scott for another good maintenance job on our generator, Rick Dent

I just had to share. If your heating and air or even plumbing are in need of help, call Waldrop. We have had several problems with both of our units . After using a competitor for years, we finally switched to Waldrop and couldn’t be happier. Always, true to their arrival time, no waiting all day for service. Fast, friendly and very efficient. I have never posted anything like this. However, they are very impressive and deserving. Also voted by *** as one of the top five HVAC companies. So please keep them in mind if you ever have a problem.

Scott H is amazing. Our air went out on Friday night; he was here Saturday and found out what was wrong. However, they had to order the needed parts for our unit. After several days of waiting on the parts, Scott came right over and got our unit back up and running quickly. After working for over an hour in our HOT attic on the repair, he checked the outside unit to make sure everything was working properly. Scott was very thorough and made sure we were completely satisfied before he left. He is a great repair person and a valuable asset for Waldrop. Thank you Scott! The B

Landon-LC774, WALDROP technician did an excellent job completing the removal & replacement of my old 2 tank water heaters with a tankless natural gas water heating system as well as the removal & replacement of 4 Koehler toilets with 4 TOTO toilets in two days which is one day earlier than originally expected. He kept me updated and clearly explained everything that was being done throughout the process. Landon also adjusted and sealed two down spouts to allow the rain water to flow properly into the underground drainage and replaced the cover on my outdoor wall outlet without any additional charge. I am very pleased with the results and the professional and respectful manner in which Landon conducted himself from start to finish. The WALDROP team of technicians are exceptionally qualified and I will definitely utilize their services for future projects.

I contacted Waldrop on 7/20 to assess some recurring issues/problems with my central heating/AC systems which were installed in 2003 and serviced by another Heating/AC Company over the past 17 years. Josh C was dispatched to my home very quickly and completed an assessment. I gave him some background on the issues that both systems had experienced over the years (I.E. leaks, replaced compressor, replaced capacitor, replaced thermostat, numerous purchases of refrigerant, etc) and that I was contemplating replacing both systems at this point rather than continue to feed money into fixing the old systems. That said, Josh C completed his assessment by expending several hours looking at both systems and noted that the R-22 coils on both were bad and had indication of refrigerant leakage. Both sets of coils were in need of replacement which would be expensive, so I finalized my decision at that time to replace both systems. Josh C then called for a Waldrop Consultant to be dispatched to my home to discuss options for replacing my old systems. Within a short timeframe, Charlie arrived and did his assessment, consulted with Josh C and we discussed replacement options, financing & scheduling. This was followed with Charlie scheduling the replacement to take place the following day on 7/21. He indicated that 2 teams consisting of (Donnie, Joey, Getty, Steve, Aron, Charlie and Josh C) would be arriving around 8am to complete the replacement project. One team will handle replacing the upstairs system and the other team would handle the downstairs system. The teams arrived on schedule and their technical skills, professionalism and customer friendliness were awesome. They worked with such precision and completed the replacement of both systems before 3pm! They made sure that the systems were operating perfectly (both heating & cooling) and provided me with a clear overview of using the new hi-tech thermostats. They were very meticulous in making sure that they protected my hardwood flooring by covering the entire path in and out of my home with rug runners, all of the old system components were hauled away and I am thrilled and completely satisfied with the quality and speed of their work. Thanks so much to everyone who worked on this project. Lastly, Charlie made a follow-up call to me this morning, 7/22 checking in to make sure everything was ok. I Thanked him again for the superb services rendered by him and the Waldrop team and noted that I will be utilizing Waldrop services in the near future to replace & upgrade my water heater(s). Charlie offered to reach out to someone in his office to contact me regarding the replacement of my water heater(s). Looking forward to getting this new project started as soon as possible. They did a terrible job installing a ball valve and cover on my water line. It was left half-filled in around the outside and full of mud on the inside. The valve itself is completely unreachable. I called and complained about the job, and they said they would email the manager who would contact me. I haven't heard anything from him. I sent photos showing the job they did, and the only response I got was "wow, did it rain?" and "did the valve fix the issue?". The valve didn't fix my problem, and it didn't rain. The bill for this unprofessional job was over $900, and when it didn't solve the problem, they offered to continue, but the price would obviously go up to around $4000. Needless to say, I didn't continue with their service, and I won't use them again. They left me with a poorly installed valve cover that was full of mud and an unreachable valve.

We called Waldrop when our heat stopped working downstairs. A technician came out and said we had cracks in the heat exchangers of BOTH of our units. She also said we were in danger of carbon monoxide poisoning and shut off our heat. She sent a salesman out in the afternoon, and he quoted us a bill of $18,000+ to replace our units with a "basic" system. An "efficient" system would put us in the ballpark of $24,000+. He also warned us that we should buy 3 or 4 additional carbon monoxide detectors (we already have 2), and he insinuated that we were in grave danger if we ran our heat until they replaced our units. In the meantime, we called a second company whose technician said we had no cracks. He charged us a service charge and left. He said we should use our heat and sleep peacefully and safely that night. A third company came out the day after. The technician affirmed the second company's opinion. He even took our units apart and investigated to make sure there weren't any cracks. The "cracks" that the Waldrop technician noted were actually creases from manufacturing. He didn't want to charge a service fee at all. He said if anything, we might need a new flame sensor. Both the second and third companies told us that Waldrop uses scare tactics to sell people expensive units. I'm appalled and dismayed that these people are taking advantage of others. They scared us, manipulated us, and tried to use our concern for our family's safety in order to make money.

Changed from 5 start to 1 star only because I can't change it to a negative number. Waldrop did a scam on us after we have been paying customers for 8 years. We have had a 'service contract' for as long as we have owned this house. It turns out that each visit is treated as an opportunity to make a new sale. In fairness I will say that this was not always the case until about 4 years ago when each technician found a ‘problem’ that required repair or replacement. Service call findings This time the technician arrived for our 6-month service check on our A/C unit as usual. The technician spent more than 2 hours inspecting both the inside and outside units and came back with 3 issues: 1- the heat strip was defective, and replacement would cost more than $500 2- the solenoid switch on the outdoor unit was showing 'wear' and needed replacement for about $500 3- the exhaust fan on the outdoor unit was showing 'wear' and needed replacement for about $500 Fear We were cautioned that any and all these components could fail imminently, and because the temps were forecast to dip in the low 30s next week and we should act quickly to get our system in proper order or we would be very cold and faced with emergency service calls. (The Weather channel predicted lows in the 40s for the next 2 weeks). This tactic is termed in the sales industry as ‘the insurance scare’ or more colloquially as ‘back up the hearse and show them the casket’. The alternative was to wait till the unit failed and a replacement would cost around $2,200. We decided to consider the alternative of replacing the entire system and agreed to have the 'comfort consultant' (salesman) come to give us pricing on replacing THE ENTIRE SYSTEM (ours is about 10 years old). They offered 3 options starting at $9,000 for the 'very basic unit' and up to $16,000 for the best unit. Again we should do this quickly to avoid getting cold - even though our A/C was working fine and could easily handle 30 degree temps. We said that since we had never bought an A/C before that we needed to do some research and left the contract unsigned. Independent review #1 The next day, we had a tech from another company come to evaluate the heat strip. In about 5 minutes he reported that he found a wire disconnected. He reconnected it and the heat strip immediately started to work properly. I asked if the wire could have simply come detached from the screw and he said that was unlikely since the wires were connected using a wire nut and not easily shaken loose. I can't definitively say that the technician or the salesman (they both spent some time in the ceiling where the air handler is located) disconnected the wire, but if they did not, then they are at least incompetent because the second technician was able to identify and resolve the problem in just a few minutes. I also asked the new technician about the costs and need to replace both the solenoid and fan. I was told that the solenoid is a standard repair that costs about $150 and the fan would cost approximately what Waldrop quoted ($500). But he also said there's no reason to replace the fan unless it is making bearing failure noises or stops completely. Independent review #2 Just to be absolutely certain and fair to Waldrop, I hired a second independent repair service to evaluate our A/C. He inspected the air handler and found it working perfectly and confirmed that the wire that was disconnected was unlikely due to simply shaking loose. I asked him to do a ‘complete and thorough’ examination of the air handler and he returned from the ceiling in about 10 minutes. I asked him why someone would spend more than an hour inspecting the unit and he could not understand what could take someone so long because, ‘there is just not that much to look at’. I then had him inspect the outdoor unit, particularly the fan and solenoid. He took off the cover to the electrical are and showed me the solenoid that had been described as having its contacts ‘wearing out’. But he was unable to even inspect the contacts because this particular model of solenoid is sealed with no access to even see the contacts. He later showed me a different model of solenoid that was not sealed and explained that even if the contacts were worn or pitted, they still worked even if they made noise. He quoted the cost of a new solenoid at less than $20 plus his labor time of just a few minutes. He looked at the exhaust fan and showed me some metal covering the fan motor being discolored and explained that this is normal wear and does not affect the operation of the motor. The only reason to replace a fan motor would be for bearing failure, and even if the bearings were making noise the motor would still function until it stopped altogether. The fan was / is not making any kind of abnormal noise. All about the sales pitch In one respect, I admire the precision coordination the Waldrop reps were able to accomplish between the technician, the salesman, and the owner of the company (who was brought into the conversation on a phone call). They have their routine down to a science. Unfortunately, it borders on coercive behavior and at the very least an attempt to take advantage of the elderly (we are in our 70s) in a topic in which we have little knowledge. It reminds me of the car repair operations that found imagined problems only to boost their repair bills. If you do decide to use Waldrop for A/C or plumbing be sure to get another opinion on their evaluations before making any contracts with them.
