Hello, my name is Michael Johnson shift leader at walgreens store number 0295 located at 4808 N Hopkins. since 12/2/2019. I specifically put myself on quarantine because I was displaying flu like symptoms. Although I feel I should have been sent home, my boss only asked was I alright as I coughed profusely. I worked my hours and the next day felt far worse. I been having a fever and a cough for almost 3 weeks now. I am unable to get tested for Covid-19. I am unable to earn any income as i struggle to seek a medical diagnosis. I have been an employee since December 3rd, but haven't accumulated any PTO. Unfortunately, I have contacted my boss and his boss. They both informed me there is no way I can get paid time off unless I was tested positive. With no tests readily available, I am forced to either go to work sick or risk becoming homeless. I love my job, and would love to retire as a Walgreens employee. Is there anyway that I can receive some type of relief from Walgreens or should I run the risk of being sick at work?
Also they are not supplying face masks and they are limited supply in gloves. They are not enforcing the 4 to 6 foot rule besides blue tape on the ground. I am still running a fever and they have no way to pay me unless I test positive. With hardly any tests available and I have been quarantine for a couple weeks. Who's to say as I have been in quarantine that it hasn't passed through my system.
