Recently, I have been helping my father look for a job after he lost his job as a maintenance supervisor of 25 years. My father is a hardworking, motivated individual but is not very computer savy which is why I have been helping him look. He received a phone call on Friday afternoon from a woman named Sarah Melendy. She told him she saw his resume on one of the sites and that this company was hiring for a maintenance position they were hiring for and that his previous qualifications seemed right for the job. After I went on to look up this "position" all I could find on it was insurance agent reviews and complaints of fraud. I told my father and he said he was sure she never mentioned anything about insurance and that was not what the job was for. This seemed strange to me as of course everyone and their mother who posts a resume on a site gets a scam e-mail or call for being an insurance agent, but they are always at least some what honest what the job entails. She e-mailed him a reminder for their interview and the address. Sure enough, This morning he drove near 30 miles out of his way to get to an insurance agent interview. This makes me sick. I understand their job is to recruit people but how is it even legal to flat out lie to a person about what they are interviewing for? My father will be just fine but I want this scam to end before someone who really is on their last dime wastes anymore of their precious time with these disgusting human beings.
