On April 5, I took my car to PEP BOYS on 2570 Airline Blvd, Portmouth, VA 23701...for my yearly State Inspection, having a car that was well kept over the years with only 67000 miles and in great condition. I thought it would be a simply process but soon after I was told that the $20 dollar State Inspection would cost me $ 810 dollars because of things they found that needed to be corrected to pass State inspections...( Note check the receipt at the shop.) which i believe where over exaggerated so too over charge me. My car is a 2012 volkswagen Jetta. serviced at volkswagen yearly for ten years and Never having a problem . But days after leaving PEP BOYS for my State Inspection ... my car over heated light comes on ,,,, telling me i need coolant . i put coolant in and three days later i need to put more coolant in... NEVER HAVING PROBLEM BEFORE NOW WITHIN TWO DAYS OF LEAVING PEP BOYS ... MY ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON... THATS NOT COINCIDENCE... THAT'S FRAUD. ...
Desired outcome: I WOULD LIKE MY CAR ... REPAIRED WITHOUT CHARGE AND COMPENSATION FOR UNNECESSARY HARDSHIP BECAUSE I HAVE AN ELDERLY MOTHER THAT NEED TRANPORTATION TO DOCTORS AND HOSPITAL AND THIS MADE IT HARDER.
The Pep Boys - battery warrwnty
Back in 2007, I purchase a Optima Batteries, Model #9083561, Part# 75135, for 2001 BMW (330ci).
The battery has a 3 years, free replacement warranty. The manager said the battery is not in the
system. I dont keep receipt for my company Baums Service Center Inc, 727 E 26th St., Norfolk, VA
23504, on hand for all the products I order from Pep Boys. I have never had a problem before.

It is your responsibility to keep your records...not theirs. They do this to assist you. It's not required. It is easier for you to keep track of one reciept than it is for them to keep track of thousands.
