Home Depot - Dishwasher

Sirs,

I recently ordered a new Samsung dishwasher from one of your stores for delivery and installation. Took almost 30 days for the dishwasher to arrive. The delivery was scheduled for 11 Feb. The delivery guys arrive. One comes inside to check the installation area (I had him remove his shoes). the other guy stayed in the truck and unboxed my appliance. At no time was I offered the opportunity to inspect the shipping box for any damage. This is a key point that will become obvious later.

The delivery guys said they could not install my appliance as it needed a "plumber" to change out a fitting. They stated they would schedule one. At no time did they indicate that I needed to inspect the Dishwasher within 48 hours. I assumed these were Home Depot employees but they are contracted. None of the paperwork that came with the delivery stated that I needed to inspect the item with 48 hours, at least not in a large and visible manner.

Plumber was scheduled for 13 Feb but canceled because of weather. Effectively, this just blew my 48 Hour Inspection because up until this time it was still on Home Depot to have the appliance installed.

Plumbers rescheduled for 15 Feb from 3PM - 6PM. I had to call after 6PM to find out if they were still coming or not. They showed up over an hour late. This added 2 More days past my 2 day inspection time. The plumbers that arrived refused to put on shoe coverings (I maintain coverings and offered them up ) before entering my home stating that it was against their company policy. As my family all have pre-existing conditions that make Covid 19 exposure extremely dangerous, I refused to allow them access to my house. This whole time my dishwasher is sitting in my garage under the shipping plastic and had not been opened.

I contacted Home Depot to obtain a refund for the botched installation and old appliance removal. That is being processed.

On 20 Feb, my brother-in-law and I removed the old dishwasher and opened the new one (finally). Upon attempting to install the power cord, we noticed some hidden damage that was not visible through the protective plastic. Both the mounting brackets for the leveling feet at the front of the dishwasher were broken. We wrapped the dishwasher back up and took it to the Home Depot store that I ordered it from.

The local store would not take the appliance back because it was outside the 48 hour window. Even walking through the above explanation, they would do nothing for me. They told me to call Samsung for Warranty Service.

I brought the dishwasher back home and called Samsung Warranty. They issued service ticket but stated that any Damage is not covered by them, only by Home Depot or the delivery company.

I called Home Depot Major Appliance twice. Once they forwarded me to Samsung even after I told them I had already spoken to Samsung. The second time I was informed that Samsung would not cover the damage and that Home Depot would not cover the damage as it was past the 48 hour window.

Now I have a brand new top of the line dishwasher that is damaged and cannot be used. Home Depot refuses to accept responsibility for damage and I will not have to pay whatever it takes to fix it out my pocket before I can even use the item as purchased.

If this is how Home Depot treats its loyal customers (I have purchased several appliances and countless other thousands of dollars of items), then I will not do any further business with your establishment. I will also go out of my way to retell my bad experience story to all my friends and fellow veterans. I am sure it might not make a dent in your corporate bottom line but nonetheless I will try to discourage as many people as I can from shopping at your establishment.

I have photos of the damaged areas.

Item was ordered in store but is a special order.

Desired outcome: Either Home Depot accept responsibility for the damage and pay for it or take dish washer back.
