I purchased a vehicle from Drive Time and recently found out that the 2003 Saturn Ion I purchased for $13, 665.57 was only worth about $2700.00. I was in need of a reliable vehicle and no major dealership would sell me a car. So I was told by a friend about Drive Time. So on 1-2-08 I was approved for the car. My car payments are $379.80 a month and I have had some problems making the payments. Now it is even harder for me to make the payments, because SSDI did not give us an increase for the next two years. To make a long story short how can this company be allowed to sell cars for more than what they are worth, especially 5 times more. Now I am in an upside down car payment and no one will take the car as a trade in without me coming up with $1000 or more for a down payment.
I want to know if there is a class action suit being filed against this company? If so how does a person get added to it. I would love to see some justice for those of us who were prayed upon by these monsters that call themselves a business.
This world is so corrupt that you don't know who to trust anymore. There are so many companies out there that have no morals or values. How do they sleep at night knowing they are taking advantage of hard working and disadvantaged people. The last I checked we are in a recession are we not? It is hard for everyone during these times.
I just want Drive Time to know that I for one is not going to give up on finding a solution to this problem. I will continue to pray and keep looking for a way to find a resolution. If there is anyone out there who is willing to help with this problem please let me know.
Thank you
Debra
Mr. Common Sense Dude, I don't think it is being stupid. It is more of not knowing the facts, and that in my book doesn't mean I am stupid. My father used to say if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. That's my advice to you. I consider myself a very smart, intelligent woman, and I was desperate need of a vehicle. When noone else would consider selling me a car they did. Mr. Common Sense Dude, should be mr. arrogant dud.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Under most situations a dealer can sell a car for as much as he can get for it within the law. Also, theres something called Kelly Blue Book. Look up the next car you buy. Just using basic information for your car I came up with purchase price of $5, 465 for a 2003 Saturn Ion and a $2450 trade in allowance. Next time take your Kelly Blue Book and a friend. There are no class action lawsuits for being stupid.
