H-E-B - double pulling money from checking account

Went to HEB to purchase groceries on 6/18/09. On 6/20/09 went to purchase an item that only cost $22 from an online company. My debit card was declined due to lack of funds. I know I had enough to buy that item so I checked my account online. That is when I found out that HEB double pulled the money from my checking account when I bought my groceries. I called the store and the only "help" that was offered was to give me a different phone number to call in a few days and they might "try" to "investigate" it. So basically, they steal my money, and give me the run around so they do not have to give it back.

with all due respect this is a problem but as a cashier for H-E-B i can pretty much tell how this happend...if it was a checking account when the checker went into the total screen to finish the order as soon as you pressed yes on the screen to agree that the amount was okay the money was deducted from your account so if the cashier went back into the order to change something then you swiped your card again it also deducted that amount not just the amount of the product added or removed so if the first total was $60 then the next total was $61 the total deducted from your account that day was $121. this is something that we went through in training and is a huge mistake
