Ashley Stewart - Store #356440 Sales Person: Sandra L #44410

I placed an online order P102203824on 11/12/23, which consisted of three items. Those items were delivered via UPS on Friday, 11/24/23 @ 12:34 p.M.

After careful examination of one of the items (black skinny jeans), it was then that I started a return. I also was told after calling the nearest Ashley Stewart store near me that I could return the one item along with all shipping receipt, and all tags and labels must be intact. On Saturday, 11/25/23, I arrived at Store #356440, located in Balch Springs, Texas 75180 (Balch Springs Commons). I went immediately to the check desk after greeting the lady as I walked in. I then informed her that I had a return and presented her with the package tin which it had arrived with all the necessary receipts. It was then that I was asked why I was returning the item; and I proceeded to tell her that the item was too small. She then told me that they had other sizes in the store. I then replied "No", that I only wanted to return the item. It was then that she started huffing and puffing as she proceeded to initiate the return. Why would you be upset about doing your job? She never smiled, she gave off very negative energy. Was very as a matter of fact to tell me that Ashley Stewart cards don't have chips and never once did she inform me that the card was to be swiped across the top of the machine; until I asked. As a customer, it is not my duty to try and figure out if a salesperson is having a good day or not. She was hired for this position in which she will be dealing with the public all day. If she is unable to do so then she is in the wrong business. Needless to say, I kept my cool and thanked her after all of her shenanigans. So I assumed that she would rather have had me do an exchange instead of a return so that Ashley Stewart would still have the money instead of having to put the money back on my credit card!

What I will add is that the layout of this store is fabulous. Everything is popping and eye catching. Unfortunately, for me, this particular salesperson definitely takes away from the ambience.

The reason for the return was that the item was "too small"; not "changed mind" as the salesperson indicated on my return receipt!

Desired outcome: I would rather have received a refund in cash, but the salesperson never informed me if this was an option.
