My issue occurred on 7/13 at approximately 12:30pm
I am a frequent customer at this Raceway. It is on my way to and from work so it is very convenient. I fill my car up there every week and often stop for snacks in addition to my weekly fill-ups.
One of the employees there is very rude. I had a run-in with her once before and I racked it up mostly to me having a bad day so I did not let it stop me from being a customer.
Today was different. I pulled up to a pump to fill my car. When I put my card in, it started the process of authorizing my card and then I got a blank screen. I tried again and got the same result. I went inside to tell her something was wrong with pump 6. She proceeds to say that no one else has told her about a problem. She essentially said there wasn't one. I said that I'm telling her about a problem. She asked what happened so I told her. She said she just does the register and is not technical so she cannot help and asks me if I want to pay there. I said no. As I'm walking out she's berating me about it. I told her she was gaslighting. She was angry that I was telling her about a problem.
I wasn't angry at all when I walked in. I just wanted to inform her of the problem. If she had listened and then said there was nothing she could do and offered me options, like pay there or go to another pump, it would have been fine. I was angry when I left. Because I needed to get to work, I went to another pump that worked. Otherwise, I would have gone to another gas station.
I'm okay with clerks not being able to do anything about the pumps. Just say so and be respectful. Gaslighting a customer is highly inappropriate.
In addition to filing this complaint, I will be stopping by later to see if there is a manager or owner I can talk to. I think she mostly works during the morning and afternoon hours. I will avoid using that store during those hours from now on. I could care less if I never see her again and I don't like thinking that about people.
She is a middle-aged, short, Latina woman. I do not know her name.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response sent to [protected]@photogg.com.(Do not put me on an email list.) I would like to know what you can do to address this issue.
