I tried to cancel my membership via the Planet Fitness app, but it wouldn't let me. My wife is going through Chemo for a rare cancer, and I have to care for her and find little time for outside activities. I sent a message via the app to get information on canceling my membership. I did not receive an answer, so after a treatment my wife and I stopped by the gym to request the cancellation. I was told since my annual fee had come out the day before I could not get a refund. I understand that Planet Fitness is losing ground to the new gyms in the neighborhood, but to hold this against me is super low. I tried to get in and handle this but was unable to my wife's condition. If you cannot refund the $49.00, then please give me the name and number of your local attorney, so that I can file in court. But for future reference, if you can sign up for a membership on the app, you should be able to cancel it through the app.
Desired outcome: Refund my annual fee and cancel my membership.
