My belongings were sold on October 23, 2019. I was notified by Email on the 24 of October. I spoke to a staff member at the 63rd street office, who then notifed me that I had until October 31 to pay my balance, otherwise my belongings would be sold. I was charged 2 Lien late fees, totaling nearly to $200, along with late fees of $20 each for whatever months I did not pay on time. The supervisor of that location, Paul, was immensely unprofessional from the beginning of our conversation to the end. I expected better service, as I was attempting to recover my personal documents that was included in the auction. He told me I should have paid my rent so none of this would have happened. He also dissmissed me in a careless manner, saying "oh well" when I told him my information was sold. He said my belongings were sold legally and that he did his job, so I can "get whatever lawyer I choose." He took nearly 3 weeks to return my 6 calls from the time we spoke back on October 24. He argued with me for about 5 minutes, saying it is not his job to locate belongings after they are sold and that the buyer did not leave anything and the office did not have any of my documents. After continuously arguing with him, I stated that it was okay, because I am not going to stop until I get the answers I needed about my belongs. He continued to argue with me. I told him he was being recorded, and that is when he hung up on me. My documents are Citizenship Papers, Life Insurance Policies, Social Security Benefit Documents, Retirement Documents and family members' Social Security numbers. I am solely asking for these items to be returned.
