Staples - Fax

We went to the Union Deposit store in Harrisburg, PA on November 30 to fax important papers for a job. Although there were cards on the machines, I failed to understand the directions about “long side”. After faxing AND paying I tried asking and was told to wait. I said when you are off the phone I need help and ge yelled “ you need to wait!”. Finally I asked the person behind the counter if those faxes would be ok if we sent them turned on the side. He said no. Then he said “ there’s a card in large letters on every machine”. Yes, I admit it was my mistake. So we attempted to fax the same papers again. But after 4 sheets, one got stuck because it was a half sheet. The same person said you can’t fax those sizes and I’d need to make a copy. I was going to take it to another machine when he said “no, all you have to do is go here “ and he pushed buttons and made a copy. We ASSUMED that we only needed to send the sheets that were not already through the machine and finished up. After getting receipt we saw only 2 pages were faxed! My son went over to the worker and asked if when he helped us and made that copy, did he cancel out the faxed papers we had done prior? He did not seem to understand and my son repeated the question 2 more times. At this point the worker said some not so nice things and walked off. I admit my son was yelling back “Bro, I just want to know if the papers were faxed before you made a copy” at him because the worker was talking not nice. The manager, Alexis, came out and listened to our question and issue. He then faxed ALL of the papers again/no charge. I asked for the workers name but it was not supplied.

This worker felt phone calls were more important than a customer needing help and then felt he should make us feel stupid because we didn’t understand how to use the equipment not once but twice. Spending money on 2 different credit cards for a few pieces of paper to fax should not be this expensive or difficult.

Desired outcome: Apology and partial refund. Final amount should have been $21. We paid for 14 sheets of paper plus one copy. We paid over $44.
