I have two daughter's that go to this facility. We have all heard the stories about the reputation of Kindercare corporation as a whole, but I swept that under the rug because this particular one seemed very clean and the staff appeared to care for children as if they were their own. And to top it off, the room that my daughter was going to be in had won an award! Also, I did like their choice in curriculum approach. So I thought to myself, " The girls will be fine attending here." That was short lived. The first incident they got my youngest daughters bottles mixed up with another child's. The teacher did not pay attention to the label. The director had called me and notified me of the situation and said my daughter had only drank a little bit of the bottle, however the teacher caught the mistake in time and gave her her normal bottle. So when I come into pick her up, I'm calm because I'm thinking the crisis was averted. Wrong! The teacher immediately starts apologizing as soon as I walk into the room because it turned out my daughter ingested the bottle entirely. That information was relayed to me wrong, and the director blamed it on the teacher. I was livid because what if she had experienced a reaction!? Despite my anger, I put it aside because we're all human right!? We make mistakes, and I too work in the daycare setting so I understand if the environment can become a little much at times. More importantly she did not have a reaction. A couple months down the line I go to pick up my eldest daughter and find her rolling around and screaming on her cot in the corner by herself. While the teacher is playing a game with two other students. I ask what is wrong with my daughter, and the teacher replies, " The director didn't call you?" Being a parent and walking into that type of situation is discomforting. It makes me feel as if they did not care about the well being of my child. I was told at pick up she was having stomach pains, but I received no previous calls nor was my child be comforted in any way. She was just discarded in the corner. And when I politely tried to voice my frustrations to the co-director she was very snoody with me. Furthermore, the straw the broke the camels back was the recent call I received about my youngest having diarrhea. I was informed that she had three in a row so I had to pick her up. I was also told it was an odd color and it ran out the diaper, I informed them that may have been due to her recent change to whole milk. (Which was recommended by her teacher). "Well you need to pick her up right now", I was told, "And she will have to be out for 24hrs and have an doctors note to come back." I asked why she had to have a doctors note if she is diarrhea free for 24, I expressed how it may be her change in milk as to seeing how she has no other symptoms. The co-director then replied, "I can't just take your word for it". I go to pick her up and speak to the real director and ask her explain because I work in a daycare and know the state rules. She then quoted what states requires which was different from what I was told on the phone. I was frustrated because they're doing and saying different things. Their "team" isn't on the same page, and you need to know your policies if you're in a leadership position. I feel like they don't ever solve problems, instead tell you what you need to hear in the moment to pacify you. As soon as we get home, No Diarrhea or lose stool. Needless to say I'm beyond annoyed and through with this company altogether.
