Advance Auto Parts - Poor customer service/ not willing to work or help

Last night, 9/18/23, we went to the advanced auto located at 1166 Mount Vernon Ave Marion, Ohio (Store #1055). I was there at quarter till closing (8:45PM). I was desperate for a battery for my car! Super simple task. I had just had to have my car jumped just to get it there. My husband went in and asked about them checking my battery to be sure it was in fact the battery that was causing us trouble. The man (Branyan - according to receipt), working had just put his coat on, I was watching from the car,- and then took it off when my husband walked in. My husband asked if he would mind checking out the battery in our car as it had been struggling to start, just wanting to be sure before we bought one. He then said to my husband (after looking at his hand where a watch would be) that he "cannot do that tonight because we leave in 3 minutes!" He also could not hook up the scanner to my vehicle for the same reason. Mind you, they were not closed. I looked at the time when he went in and the doors were still unlocked, so therefore still open to the public. He was a larger man and was just sitting at the register before/ when we arrived. I had seen another customer walk in and right back out, possibly having the same experience? Out of desperation, we went ahead and bought the battery, and the man said he could not put it in our vehicle. We literally had to jump the vehicle and drive home to get the tools to put the new battery in ourselves. I felt completely disregarded as a customer but also spent almost $250 on a battery. If my husband would not have been there, I guarantee I would have been left in their parking lot with a disabled vehicle! I feel like he could have at least attempted to help us out. He did not care at all, he simply wanted to get out of there.

Desired outcome: I would like to know how this is being dealt with. I would like someone to talk to him regarding his duties and his customer service skills. I can be reached at jerika.[protected]@yahoo.com
