On August 13, 2020, I was admitted to ER at Marymount Hospital for a bee sting in my right hand, which had began to itch and swell as a result of an allergic reaction. In the past, lymph nodes were removed from my right arm as a result of a mastectomy performed in 1996. One staff member withdrew blood from my left arm and another medical staff person accepted my $75.00 fee as required for emergency care based on my insurance coverage.
Dr. Baruch S. Fertel examined my hand and indicated that there was no apparent infection in my swollen hand. Under Dr Fertel's supervision, I was given one Benadryl tablet by another medical staff member, requested o purchase additional Benadryl to take every four hours and was released to go home. On August 14 my arm had significantly worsened with now with pain...whereby the swelling occurred in my upper arm and down throughout my fingers. I called my PCP Office, Dr. Janet D. Morgan. Her medical assistant recommended that I go to the Express Clinic in Macedonia, Ohio to seek medical assistance immediately. At the Express Clinic, I received a prescription for an antibiotic from the Medical practitioner who stated that my arm was a the beginning stages of an infection. I also received an additional prescription from my PCP.
I feel that the ER staff at Marymount did not give me the medical service required at the time of my visit.
