Allstate Insurance - Customer service and cancelling a policy after 25 years with allstate

My 3 car auto insurance payment was due 7/20/2020, my letter said I have until 8/20/2020 or my insurance would be cancelled. I called and spoke with someone and told them I was waiting or my certificate for defensive driving to come and I would make payment next week. This was noted in my file. Well to say the least it was a tough year for everyone and I made my payment 10 days later on 9/1/2020. My payment was accepted, then about 2 weeks later I get a check in the mail for my payment amount. (I pay every six months and am NEVER late. I called and explained the situation and they said they would get back to be and that it was weird that they sent my payment back. A few days goes by then I get the final answer that yes my insurance was cancelled. As you can imagine that I was very angry. I have been a loyal customer of Allstate for over 25 years, I have both auto and home insurance, how could they cancel my after technically only being late 10 days. Aren't most places including mortgage companies give some grace time to people especially good customers? So I asked to speak with Charles Alter. Of course he did not pick up and I left him a long message explaining and telling him I was currently driving without insurance and I wanted to rectify this, pay a late fee, pay the whole year all at once but work this out and get me reinstated. Well I called him over 10 times and he never called me back, meanwhile I am still driving around thinking I can fix this, I'm a great long time customer. I called and left more messages and not a call back. So I finally realized I better get insurance and I did find insurance through GEICO which is actually less than with AlLSTATE. About two weeks later I get fees in the mail of $780.00 due to driving without insurance. I feel that this is a direct result of Mr. Alter not calling me back, not being reasonable with his decision to cancel my policy and not affording me a bit a grace. I am looking or some type of reimbursement for his negligence and costing me $780.00. I have since cancelled my home policy with you as well.
