My new throttle body was shipped from Texas via UPS, successfully arrived to the Omaha UPS facility. There, and only there, they determined it undeliverable due to PO Box, and now shipped it back.
No option available to pick up directly from the facility. No one caught that it was undeliverable due to PO Box any time earlier than when it was 5 miles from delivery.
The website didn't notice it, the shipper didn't notice it, the place where it was processed didn't notice it.
Even putting a note "please contact us for delivery options" in the tracking info would've been better. "Oh? A PO Box? Let's hold onto it til we hear from the receiver. He might be able to just pick it up."
But nooo... "PO BOX? SCREW THEM, SEND IT BACK!"
How hard is it to deliver to a PO Box anyway? UPS (Oops) truck rolls up to post office, driver hands clerk box, clerk keeps it for customer. Or puts it in the package box and leaves key in customer's PO Box.
Sounds like a scam to me, as if they pretended not to notice the PO Box until it reached 5 miles from destination, so they can attempt to charge the shipper twice.
Desired outcome: Allow option to pick up from the UPS facility, even without the magical number off the "sorry we missed you" post it, especially since you only get one if delivery was attempted, which didn't even happen here.
