We bought a leather sofa and chair with ottoman about 4 years ago. Recently the chair which no one sits in started peeling on the back of chair, then it has started peeling on the sofa seats, arms of sofa, and ottoman. It looks terrible. I contacted Lane furniture submitted all photos, explanation of the peeling, and sales receipt. Was then contacted by Lane that it was not covered, due to being purchased from Furnitureland South, with no warranty. I explained that I did not purchase extended warranty from the furniture store but did not realize that Lane did not stand by their product. She then offered to give the telephone number to the leather repair department for me to pay for! I explained that I would NEVER buy Lane furniture again. I explained that Ashley furniture had told me that the problem was with the leather backing, that it was an organic backing and that all leather products are now peeling, so that leaves me to believe that they are well aware of the problem. I could understand if it was something we had caused but this is clearly not caused from use. I have had leather furniture for years and never had a problem! I further explained that I did not purchase this from craigslist, I purchased from a well known furniture company! Furthermore I have bought used cars for years and even though the car sales do not warranty, the manufacturer does warranty their product!
