I had to open this estate account to resolve my deceased moms Financial obligations to the state of North Carolina. I did this while it was still BB&T which I bank with for almost 20 years. During this process I moved out of state. I was able to zero out the account and close it however a deposit was allowed to be completed via Zelle. I contacted customer service and informed them that I need to zero the account out in order to complete the closure of the estate process with the state. I was told to call the local bank which I did and was informed that they don't have any bankers there and will not have for two weeks. I was transferred to another bank in the same town however no answers the phone . I am completely frustrated as I do not understand why the bank would allow a deposit into a closed account.
Desired outcome: I would like someone from the bank to reverse the deposit back to the Zelle account it came from so the account will be shown as closed. It should not be this difficult to speak with a live person to get this issue resolved.
