I originally went to the drive-thru at about 8:40 pm on E. Woodlawn Road in Charlotte, NC. I was told to come inside to make the order because of a shift change. When I went inside, I understood that I would have a wait because only a few people were working at that time. I noticed that the person taking the order was working at the front register, then he went behind the counter to prepare the food. It was fine, but he was not wearing gloves when he was handling the food. He touched the keys on the cash register and then he used his unwashed hand to prepare the food for the orders. His hands touched the fries without any gloves on. I received my order. I was waiting for a straw and some sauce since I did not receive these items in the bag. I was completely ignored as I stood at the counter. I waited about 10 minutes. While waiting, I noticed that other employees were handling food without wearing gloves. Some of them were preparing orders for the drive-thru. I noticed that the restaurant could have been cleaner. I finally just spoke and asked someone to give me what I needed. She acted like she was very upset because she had to deal with me. She just grabbed the straw and the sauce, handed it to me, and then carried a bag of food outside of the store. She was very rude, which was fine if that is what she was supposed to do. She did not even speak to me, and she acted like she was heavily burdened to give me the items. I do not plan to return to that store again. I have noticed that most of the KFC restaurants have poor customer service. I just went there because someone in the car wanted to eat there. I do not like going because of the quality of the customer service. I was once at a KFC restaurant. The employees had packed up food to take home. The manager came in the store from outside. She told them to bring the food back inside of the store. She took the food out of their bags and put it back out for customers to purchase. This was a big health risk for handling food once it was outside of the store. I have seen employees using their hands to pick up food instead of using the required serving utensils.
Desired outcome: For employees to be aware that their negligence of handling food can cause health issues and possible lawsuits.
