We have been shopping at Goodwill Stores for many years. Over the past few we have been buying the Pound goods for donations and I re-sell some items online. We also donate a lot of items to Goodwill. Our last visit will be our last. We spend to much and do so much with what we get from Goodwill but it is just not worth being treated the way we are treated there. Just not worth it. The prices have gone up which I don't mind because we know it is going to good causes but I will not be treated rudely and with disrespect. We are so done. To many places to buy Items without the hassle. Check your records and see just how much I have spent over the passed few Years. You are losing one of your best customers.

Goodwill Industries - inflated numbers
While I worked as a supervisor at the Hendersonville Career Connections, I was told repeatedly to double enter and sometimes triple or quadruple enter the number of people "served" through the center. They inflate their numbers by counting them if they register at one center and then go to another center, they count them up to four times if they register through the re-entry program and then, after a one-time consultation, move over Career Connections and are counted again thereby artificially inflating their numbers. They are counted twice on their first visit, even if they just walk in the door they are forced to "sign in" and even if they only stay for five minutes, they are counted twice, once under "served" and once under "incident".
I participated in Goodwill's Career Connection in Las Vegas. It was more of a run around, than a company attempting to provide employment assistance. They require that each individual be seen by these numerous "Specialists." You meet with one, complete certain steps, then move on to the next one. The final step requires meeting with a Placement Specialist who will assist with job placement. The job placement assistance I received amounted to receiving a piece of paper entitled "Job Search Websites." Wow! I could have looked on Monster & Hotjobs myself. While sitting in the lobby during several of my appointments, I witness nearly 10 individuals come in and ask if Goodwill was hiring. They were always told yes and given an application. I've checked their website on several different occassions and saw that positions were still available. How can a company offer job placement assistance for the community, when they won't even hire people for their own company? Started to wonder if the program is more of a scam, signing individuals up to this career services to get government kick backs...
