I had a change in family status and as a result change in my financial status. I could not make payments on several credit cards and medical bills. I sought advice from Lutheran Social Services regarding financial planning, and determined that filing a Chapter 7 bankruptcy was my best option. I obtained an attorney and started the process of filing. I notified all of my creditors of my inability to pay and my intention to file for bankruptcy. Meyer and Njus, who was collecting for Target National Bank was rude throughout this whole process. They served papers on me almost immediately after I stopped making payments. They attempted to garnish my wages, and when I notified them that I has obtained an attorney, they straight up wouldn't even talk to me. Even after my bankruptcy case had been filed by my attorney, they filed a Notice of Entry and Docketing of judgement with the district court. Bottom line, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THIS. My attorney is going to take care of it, but seriously... how low can you go? I am a single mother trying to make ends meet and they are causing undue stress after I have taken the correct legal steps to protect myself. DO NOT GET A TARGET CREDIT CARD! I have heard of them doing other terrible things like jacking up interest rates for loyal customers who have always paid on time and lowering credit limits for no reason. I have definitely learned my lesson and will not use credit cards ever again.

This is ridiculous. They refuse to talk to you because you have a lawyer and all correspondence must go through counsel. I defaulted on my target CC and I had the nicest woman who I spoke with that was very understanding to my situation (similar to yours) and made arrangements that I could afford. Bankruptcy is not an option for me. You defaulted on your financial obligations, they are going to come after you. If someone owed you a lot of money and they stopped paying you, you would be the same
