Family Dollar - denied service for not surrendering personal property

I walked into the store at approximately 6:05PM looking for the 200 count bag of DG Health brand cherry cough drops. I've purchased them multiple times in the past and knew where they were on the shelf "directly" in front of the cashiers station. The cashier who appeared to be the manager was busy with other customers. So I stepped to the next aisle to ask a black female clerk if she knew where the 200 count cherry coughdrops were. She gestered pointing to the manager and said ask him. Attending customers I asked him and he blew me off saying if it's not on the shelf we must be out. I then began to explain to him that in the past these items were placed separately at the cap of the shelves. I had a bag of groceries in my hand and I looked around the corner of the next aisle and the security guard appeared. He told me I would have to leave my bag over there behind the next counter. Being two feet from the items I was looking for and in front of the entryway I told him how I was just looking for cough drops and he couldn't have my bag. I attempted to ask him if he knew where the 200 count cherry cough drops were. He then told me that it doesn't matter because unless I put my bag over there on the floor behind the counter I couldn't buy anything. The black female clerk said it was okay but then the security guard yelled at the manager and said he's being noncompliant. All of this transpired in front of the cash register. The guard told the manager not to sell to me and told me to leave the store. My response was that they could talk to my attorney and that the policy was illegal. I walked over to the counter with a dollar bag of cough drops and the black female clerk started to ring me out but the manager stopped her and said you understand why we're doing this and I said yes but all of my transactions are in front of the counter and I never breached the perimeter of any aisle. The guard then told me to leave his store. Both the guard and manager are white and I've been there shopping on many occasions with the guard onsite and my bags in hand and never had to surrender them. This was a case of racial profiling and I was insulted to be directed by a young white security guard to surrender my property base on no posting on the door or the entryway that bags must be "checked" upon entry. The stor has security cameras and if they want to enforce such a policy it has to be conspicuous and proper protocol would require issuance of a receipt for the property in their custody. I'm a 65 year old retired professional. Additionally the store is always in disorder with boxes of inventory sitting in the aisles. The manager and security guard should be fired for denigrating a 65 year old black man trying to but some cherry cough drops.
