Cub Foods - Being singled out and bothered by security and secret shoppers

On Dec 3, 2022 at approximately 10:30 pm I went to the Cub Foods on 5937 Nicollet Avenue South in Minneapolis, MN 55419. There were a fair amount of people when I came in but it thinned out as I was shopping. I had a list from my son and I was unfamiliar with this store so I was getting frustrated because I couldn’t find things. Also, I didn’t realize that they had the frozen meat separate from the other frozen food, so that wasted a lot of time.

Then I noticed that without fail, whichever isle I was shopping in someone would come and shop right next to me. One or two times might be a coincidence but when it happened almost every single time I started getting so upset. I was dressed in my work clothes (I’m a bus driver), and I’m a 62 year old woman. I didn’t think I was doing anything out of the ordinary. Until they started harassing me like that! Then I became very frustrated and angry, I receive a lot of unwanted male attention on the job so I’m constantly aware of my surroundings. This went on for the entire time I was shopping. The security guard walked passed the end of the isle watching me, then a few employees walked passed the end of the isles. It felt very terrible to be treated like that.

And then when I was at the self check out, a male employee in about his 60’s started vacuuming all around me. And when I was done and bending over to load my groceries back into the cart, he stood facing my direction winding the cord up on the vacuum. Classic creepy male behavior, staring at a woman’s body while she’s bending over, etc. So I stopped loading my groceries and stared at him until he moved away.

I spent $86 in the store and was taunted and treated like a criminal the entire time I was there! I wanted to just leave the full cart and walk out of the store but my grandkids were counting on those things. Shame on you! Horrible treatment of customers!

Desired outcome: I would like to know that Cub Foods takes this seriously. I’d like for the employees to be educated on customer relations. Also, tell me what I can do if this should happen again. Thank you
